Funny comment from Carlos about seeing Jannik more than his family. I like how this rivalry is going- the sport needs something like this. I do wonder if we will see a '3rd man' break through soon. Might not be who we expect.

I have to remind myself that they are both only 22/23- they are now way more confident giving speeches than a couple of years ago.

All in all, the men's speeches were so much better- because they were allowed to just say what they had prepared.

Tim is a bit of a hypocrite though. Not long ago he was banging on about Jannik's doping ban , every single match he played.

I noticed a lack of that, this tournament. Which I'm glad about. Maybe they have been told to can it.

It will be way more interesting if some of the other players can step up and challenge Carlos and Jannik. Of the current crop I think Ben, Jack and Arthur Fils are still young and improving, but it could be someone currently in juniors. Fonseca is the other one - he’s had some slightly disappointing results recently, but he’s only just 19 and already around 40 in the rankings.

DD1 has been packing the car to move out for her second year at uni tomorrow.
She is literally moving less than 10 miles away (and will be back on Friday to go to work )So much stuff. Can't convince her she doesn't need 6 coats (I have never owned 6 coats at once ).

DS2 headed off to second year yesterday. He comes home every weekend so if he forgets anything it’s tough only for five nights

That was my thinking, Jane. She'll be back on Friday night .
(We might do 2 trips though, because I'm nosy, and I can't fit in the car for trip 1- plus she keeps finding things she really needs).

I spent 3 years at a university 50 miles from the nearest big city.

When my DS1 moved out to uni he still came back on a regular basis (to bring his laundry home!)

I'm hoping she pretty self sufficient - but I've noticed since ds moved out, the 10+ pairs of jeans he owned (and wore once before they went in the wash) have been replaced by one track suit I see him in all the time Funny how that happens when they have to do their own .

Oh, I've just seen a report that Jack Draper will be out for the rest of 2025. That is really disappointing for him. He was well on his way to qualifying for the tour finals.
That's a shame.
Its best he recovers properly, though.

At this point I think Carlos must enjoy the reaction to his various hair atrocities. At least he got it professionally done. Remember when Taylor Fritz went blonde?
