Well done Carlos. I made it to the end of the third set but had to give up then. I’m glad they’ve shared the year’s prizes equally between them.

I woke up at 2.15- and for a brief moment forgot the match had finished and thought I had gone to sleep at the end of the first set
It was odd not having scores to look at.

The cheque thing is naff. At least it's not a big thing. But the presenters are definitely under pressure to make a big deal of that, and thanking the sponsors. Fine- but it's meant to be about the players.

Lessons to be learnt from this year's US open-
1- allow actual doubles players to play in the mixed doubles ( though Casper and Iga were lovely together)

2- don't agree to a visit from the president.

( any other world leader or dignitary would probably not cause an issue)
