Starting this a bit early as Spoilers for the couplings could come out at any time.

Thread will normally be the location for the weekly spoiler but will be spoilers for who is paired with who before the 20th if we can get them.

Oti has just joined Ireland's version of Strictly as head judge, so doubt it.

Meh. I am really struggling to care about this season, I am just watching on delay and just watch the dances and some of the judges comments. It is a popularity contest, really, Ellie and la voix should have gone before Jimmy who had more to learn. The theme was crap! I don't think it did Harry any favours when the judges criticised him for doing modern Usher moves in between the AT flicks. Claudia and Tess have the right idea.

Oh bugger, I liked Jimmy (and Lauren). If George goes soon then I’m out for the rest of this series.

Awwww I’m disappointed Jimmy is out (esp cos I’m a huge fan of Lauren) but I don’t think he would have lasted more than another week or two. I think that the fact there were so many on the same score definitely didn’t help Amber, she’s a great dancer obviously but the public are just not invested in her ‘story/journey’ so she didn’t get the votes.

Didn't this happen with Alexandra Burke? She was unpopular with the public and knocked out a few fan favourites in the dance offs as she was the better dancer. Just didn't come across as likeable in the same way Amber isn't.

I'm not sure what it is about Amber. She doesn't annoy me. I'm surprised Vicky is more popular given her shaky start in the celebrity world.

Didn't see the show last night as we were out, but gutted for Jimmy. He was a genuine non-dancer and not the worst of the pack. Agree with comments with Amber being unpopular in general and also because of the ringer status. Ellie consistently overmarked, it's patronising.

I think that Ellie should been in the dance off , she sort of threw herself about a bit with some lifts by Vito . Was that dancing ?

All Ellie's dances look the same to me and she has done only one ballroom, I think?

Ellie is in a group of contestants with the same score second from bottom. It’s not like she’s riding high on the Leaderboard. Her weeks are likely numbered…..

Definitely needs another ballroom, but with her stature there’s quite a few she’s going to struggle with.

Shirley even said that Ellie doesn't make mistakes last night. I definitely saw a few from her.

We will start to see the weaker ones getting picked off now though, as generally the public does want the best dancers in the final.

I agree.

I think she's wonderful, a great example of the joy of dancing.

She's done amazingly well to remember routines and has been enjoyable to watch. But they are all very similar looking and I worry about the cumulative physical and mental pressure. It would be a kindness for her to bow out next, on a positive note.

Vito deserves a medal for his warmth, kindness and patience!!

I remember Nikita did a good job with Ellie Simmond's ballroom.

@Holluschickieshe definitely needs a slower dance next week to stop being repetitive. I see her struggling with the jive - like myself she only has little legs and I don’t know if she’d keep up with a quickstep. A foxtrot maybe?

When’s Blackpool? I suspect Ellie will stay until Blackpool and that will be magical but then will leave soon after. I like her and I do think she’s improved but there’s a marked difference between her and most of the other couples now.

This happens every year on Strictly.
The ringer is not popular and the public won't accept her.

The man dressed as a woman gets loads of support online even though he's an awful dancer. LaVoix won't be voted out for a while yet.

And Amber will be in the DO more often now.

Nikita and Ellie Simmonds did a beautiful waltz to Can't Help Falling in Love. And their height difference was larger than the one between Vito and Ellie.

I had already loved Nikita from his partnership with Tilly, but the way he choreographed this moment with Ellie was incredibly endearing. He treated the dance and Ellie with so much grace and respect.

Next week is Halloween. You usually have at least one week of non themed dancing then it’s Blackpool. Guessing 15th Nov

I'm glad Ellie has made it to Halloween but it will get trickier from now on so I think she's on wobbly ground.

Yes, the first half of the series tends to be about personality rather than skill. After that, the popular but not great dancers get picked off before the final. As it should be.

Any ideas about tonight? Maybe Harry and George?
