For when the first thread is full. I may be watching but won't be posting because I won't have access to a computer and I need the speed of a keyboard to get my opinion out there before I forget what it is.

Esme really didn’t like Gaynor!

I was quite disappointed by this weeks episode.
It felt very “favourity.” As in, Esme made a real u-turn about Gaynor’s dress and the simpering about Kit’s scarecrow; it wasn’t original or particularly technical; Orla’s was very much her own thing.

I’m not convinced Yasmin will make the final; I’m thinking Kit, Caz and Orla. And Kit will take it.

Doctor Who wasn't a film.

There was nothing mad to measure about Kit’s! How they justify that being joint garment of the week is beyond me. I think they’ve gone too far with the wacky challenges. Caz is still my favourite though.
I think it was Gaynor's time to go but I hope it was just the editing that showed Esme as being overly critical of her and not some kind of bias.

I think he was just using ‘creepy scarecrow’ as a character. As was said there wasn’t much measuring involved. Kit put it on himself at times and he is a different body shape to the model.

There have been 2 Dr Who films.

Esme is not at all subtle in her preferences...it's so obvious it's starting to be a detriment to my enjoyment of the show.
I'm completely baffled at Kits m2m being joint gotw 🤔
It's amazing he's only been sewing for a year, but his m2m was the least complex and not really m2m.
I really didn't enjoy tonight's episode as much as I usually do.

Esme isn't coming across well in this series for me - Kit is definitely her favourite

I wonder if the judges were absent for the made to measure whether the results would be the same?

Usually, when one contestant is consistentlyshown as being better than the rest (Kit), they lose in the final.

I loved Glendora' s linen yoga outfit...its the only thing made this series that I would happily have worn.

Me. It used to get repeated quite a bit in the late 60’s early 70’s plus there was a Dr Who film in 1996 with Paul McGann.

I agree entirely. I acknowledge that Kit is a very talented sewer with an eye for design, but I just don't think there was anything special about his made to measure this week. I almost feel like I could have done it myself. The face was amusing but the rest was just some baggy clothes made out of sacking.

Orla should have got GOW to herself.

It probably was Gaynor's time to go, but as mead to measure garments go hers was much more skilful and better fitting than Kit's scarecrow.

It does feel like Kit is teacher's pet now.

Personally I am rooting for Kaz.

Does your jacket have the little diamond shaped plackets in the armpits? I thought the design was so complex but elegant- I loved the collar too. I really enjoyed the pattern challenge this week.

No, what they've done is solved that with a more stretchy, synthetic fabric and the sleeves are inserted not "grown on".

It's not exactly the same but looks strikingly similar.

I considered in the past having it copied by a tailor somewhere like Hong Kong.

But society is much less formal these days.

Gaynor was the right choice to go but felt she was harshly judged this week. Her transformation dress was stunning and Patrick loved it but it came second bottom.just because Esme didn't like it.
Gaynors M2M was exquisite,and beautifully fit. It wasn't scary but neither was Kats or Yasmins. Kits was just shapeless garments and a sack face like a dressing up outfit. Not much of a sewing challenge there.

Gaynor's M2M was so much better than Kit's last night, Esme has been very negative about Gaynor for weeks, I felt sorry for her. Orla should have won GOTW solo.
Gaynor was an excellent sewist which is the point of the show, she was made to feel quite small and inadequate I felt.
(Still love GBSB though!)

When we saw Gaynor's from behind it made me wonder whether she could have done something more with the hood for horror - some way of it covering the face. But the model did look terrifying in it, I thought.

I don't think the M2M had to be based on actual films btw - none of them were! Kt's actually came the closest.

I thought Kit's cowboy outfit was more horrifying than the scarecrow.
