I haven't had Netflix for a few years.

I like
Period drama
Wartime drama
Crime series (just enjoyed Karen Pirie) but not too violent
Australian humour
Spy thrillers
Cosy crime

I don't like
Gore, violence, soaps, saccharine US series like Virgin River.
Films

Emily in Paris. It’s fun nonsense.

wonderpetsrus · 29/08/2025 17:03

Fisk, good girls if it’s still there . Dead to me

cantpickaname · 29/08/2025 17:04

Thursday Murder Club
The Hostage

Both brilliant

Radiatorvalves · 29/08/2025 17:04

Cosy crime - Thursday murder club
mobland is great but might be a bit too violent.

Emily in Paris is fun
agence Parisienne is great for fancy French properties and the family are interesting.

ALittleBitofWensleydale · 29/08/2025 17:07

The Crown.

KateMiskin · 29/08/2025 17:07

Fisk

LilacRos · 29/08/2025 17:14

What's Fisk about?

Dept. Q, Bridgerton, Missing You, The Queen’s Gambit, One Day, Fool me once, Adolescence

PuceGreen · 29/08/2025 17:18

You could branch out and try a Korean series? I loved "Crash Landing on You", about a very rich South Korean woman who gets stranded in North Korea. So much fun.

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 29/08/2025 17:24

The Tinder Swindler is what I was most looking forward to.
Many other copies followed on every channel, but this was the original and best 🤓

wonderstuff · 29/08/2025 17:26

I’m really enjoying The Diplomat at the moment.

wonderpetsrus · 29/08/2025 17:28

Fisk is a dry Australian comedy about a private lawyer. Easy watch

I've got One day on my TBR pile. I love a bit of Harlem Coben

I LOVE Fisk!

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 29/08/2025 18:15

kath and Kim

ThejoyofNC · 29/08/2025 18:18

If you like crime then the monsters series is excellent. Series one is on Jeffrey Dahmer and season two on the menendez brothers is brilliant.

LittleBitofBread · 29/08/2025 18:20

Please watch The Makanai. It isn't like anything else and it's strange, and delicate, and very lovely.

DriftAlong · 29/08/2025 18:21

Another Fisk fan here.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo, about a Korean lawyer - brilliant and very cleverly written. The English dubbing is really well done too so easy to watch.

I was going to say that. In the same vein, MUCH more trashy, but fascinatingly awful, Selling Sunset.

SerendipityDiamond · 29/08/2025 18:23

Schitts Creek

BeaLola · 29/08/2025 18:23

I came across FISK by accident last week - have since binge watched it all

DriftAlong · 29/08/2025 18:23

Loved The Makanai too.

Bonden · 29/08/2025 18:24

1883 - American west.
all quiet on the western front
Will - danish? Dutch? WW2
Forsyte saga
Yesterday (you can thank me later! Stick with it))
Taboo
the Inheritance
Ripley

LittleBitofBread · 29/08/2025 18:26

Oh, also (sorry, I'm on a roll)
Ripley? possibly a bit bloody, but in black and white.
Chestnut Man. May be a bit dark, but very good, classic Scandi noir.
Eric if you like a bit of Cumberbatch and seedy, pre-cleanup 80s New York.
Dead to Me. Black as black comedy, but touching and surprising too. Two superb women leads.
And Tiny Pretty Things. Rivalry, love and sex, and a murder mystery at a Chicago ballet school. Trashy as heck. So easy to watch. Fantastic ballet warmup clobber. Sadly only one series, and ends on a cliffhanger as they'd clearly hoped to do more.
