I haven't had Netflix for a few years.

I like
Period drama
Wartime drama
Crime series (just enjoyed Karen Pirie) but not too violent
Australian humour
Spy thrillers
Cosy crime

I don't like
Gore, violence, soaps, saccharine US series like Virgin River.
Films

all quiet on the western front
Will - danish? Dutch? WW2
Forsyte saga
Yesterday (you can thank me later! Stick with it))
Taboo
the Inheritance
Ripley

Taboo as in the Tom Hardy one from ages ago? Season one, or is there another? (there were murmurings about a season two, but they seem to have gone quiet now).

oooooh exciting 🤗try Missing You, a lot of Harlan Coburn stuff is pretty good! I loved Bodies too, the storyline was great, there is loads of great crime docs as well…. I can’t watch anything too gory! Enjoy!

Loved The Makanai too.

What is The Makanai? I consider myself well versed in Netflix offerings but it’s a new one for me

All Quiet on the Western Front is right up my street. I'm currently watching The Crimson Field on Prime.
I'm old enough to remember the original Forsyte saga so will add that to the list.

I've seen Mme Blanc on Acorn.
Designated Survivor I enjoyed years ago when I had Netflix.

The Crown.

I’m certainly not a royalist, but I really enjoyed it, particularly the first 4 seasons. Season 5 is also good but the less said about season 6 the better.

It does take a few liberties with history, but the production values & performances are extraordinarily good. The best episodes, eg Aberfan, Vergangenheit are as good as TV drama gets.
