Really hope this is a one-off and the powers that be realise the error of their ways. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case

Didn’t see any of the action overnight but seems like the ideal result. The organisers got the audience they wanted, there was a competitive final, and the people who needed the prize money got it. Poor Casper is destined to be an eternal runner up at grand slams!

I know- poor Casper! It's the right thing that he came second this time, though.

Yes well done Sara and Andrea - so pleased that they won - playing doubles is a specialist skill and just getting a load of highly ranked singles players together wasn’t going to work (although the novelty of it has been popular so will probably be repeated - hopefully not at Wimbledon!)

Most of the US Open qualifiers were washed out by the rain yesterday so they’ve got a bit of catching up to do

Basically a few highly ranked singles players were paid a lot of money to get some practice in for what the commentators kept calling the 'main event' Fizzy. .So much for gaining more respect and raising the profile of mixed doubles, eh?

Still, it got a lot of publicity- and people were talking about it. Not always positively.

I think Iga and Casper should play together again though maybe. They were fun together.

I’d like to see the final, it’s disappointing that Sky/NOW can’t provide replays for matches that happened in the middle of the night UK time.

Me, too! Although I just saw belatedly in my NowTV app that there’s a “watch list” function. Perhaps I was able to set it up last night (like a recording)? Too late now, though 😭

Ok it looks like some of the matches are being replayed on Sky Sports tennis right now. Only found it via the search function on NOWTV app.

They’re showing the final now, but started the coverage halfway through the first set.

I’m still trying to find out who will be playing in his tournament next week - maybe some of the players who don’t get through US Open qualifying might play?

Marin Cilic was there last year but I’ve not seen any ‘big’ name announcements this year - don’t think there’s any danger of Kyrgios turning up

I really enjoyed the Casper-Iga doubles pairing. They played very well and thankfully no one is trying to ship them! It did amuse me that Iga was visibly cross about losing the match tiebreak - to be fair she did double fault on a crucial point - whereas Casper was like, oh well, there goes another championship

I’m astonished to hear that Nick K was even in the USO entry list, it’s becoming silly at this point.

Iga and Jannik were really lovely together- and the whole 'Rafa's kids' was very funny.

I am devastated by the Kyrgios news. Truly. Whole tournament ruined.

I’ve just been looking at the US Open draw - some interesting first round matches - Djok has got Lerner Tien (come on Lerner!), Holger against Botic and Alcaraz has got Lumberjerk - Musetti has drawn GMP so hope he doesn’t get served off the court!

Cilic is in the main draw - not sure if he got a wildcard? I can’t see Stan anywhere - maybe he’ll turn up at Rafa’s tournament

I saw that Djok had drawn Lerner- Tien has hadsoem dedent results, and it's a home crowd. So fingers crossed.

As a former champion, it would have been nice for Stan to get a WC. But not all tournaments see it that way- maybe he didn't want one?

Lore against GMP is a bit of a brutal first round. At least Lorenzo has had practice already on the courts.

And Marin is actually ranked 62 in the live rankings (he's not had a bad few months) -so he wouldn't have needed a a WC, it would be direct entry in top 100.
