Anyone planning on watching this?

Rob Brydon hosts as contestants are driven around Europe in a blacked out bus, trying to guess where they are. I’ve seen clips of the US Version, it might be good!

Managed to get all the box questions correct.

Glad James went, he was quite sly and sucked up to the girls for his own advantage. Saskia as well, the other button-presser, deflecting every episode by accusing someone else of playing a game - boring and hypocritical! Hope the newbies shake things up, it's quite stale in there.

He seems to be being painted as some kind of bad guy but I like Nick 🤷‍♀️

stickybear · 07/08/2025 07:22

Some of the clues last night were so obvious compared to the first couple of episodes and were verging on cliche (naked people drinking beer and eating sausages, really?!). I wish it wasn't so convoluted. The driving around in circles really annoys me, it'd be much better if they were shown clues to where they were somewhere on the way and then the distance to the destination.

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 07/08/2025 07:44

I suppose it had to be easier last night as the new people know where they are so this way everyone is starting out with some idea.

I thought the boxes were all incredibly easy - very confused why it took them so long (and why they kept putting clogs and tulips as not belonging in Amsterdam)

KassandraOfSparta · 07/08/2025 08:16

They are spectacularly poorly travelled and lacking in basic knowledge. Last time they all knew that they were in Switzerland. The Munich clues were very obvious and apart from the football team, Dortmund isn't exactly a well-known place. They must have to keep it to very well known European locations, I had wondered if they;d head further east into Slovenia or similar but there is no way those people have that level of knowledge, Prague maybe.

ChompandaGrazia · 07/08/2025 08:31

I wonder if they realised that the first clues were too difficult and made it easier. I had no idea with the first one but this one was really obvious (except for the thing with the red balls).

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 09:38

Will they just stay in that part of Europe or go further afield ?

KassandraOfSparta · 07/08/2025 10:09

I doubt they will go anywhere much further afield. So I would imagine that some of the places which have already been mentioned like in the suitcase task - Barcelona, Amsterdam, Stockholm - might reappear.

I think blind panic can lead people to temporarily misunderstand a task - they were automatically grabbing things that were associated with the country rather than those that weren't. I've seen this before in tests where the candidate has to choose antonyms for a word from a list ... they are automatically drawn to the synonyms thrown in to fool them. I'm sure there's a psychological reason for it, but blowed if I know what it is! 😂

KassandraOfSparta · 07/08/2025 10:57

It's like when someone says "whatever you do, don't think about cats" and you immediately think about cats.

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 11:01

I admit that I didn’t really understand the rules for the boxes challenge! The pictures were not up for long and the explanation that Rob gave made my eyes glaze over. I’d probably be gone by now anyway if I was on board ! Lol

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/08/2025 12:42

I felt sorry for Daren, it was clear he was picked for tactical reasons and he saw it as friendship

bizzey · 07/08/2025 13:01

I agree about Darren .
And he looked so hurt when he realized Saskia had been lying to him about the clues 😔

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 13:03

Poor Daren , but at least he wasn’t evicted.
I thought he would be.
The Black Forest gateaux thing was odd!

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 07/08/2025 13:05

I’d expected Daren to go as well, as he was so convinced he was right about Dortmund.

I don’t understand Ben’s reasoning. Unlike Daren, he wasn’t convinced about Dortmund so I think with that element of doubt I’d have hedged my bets and gone halfway between Dortmund and Munich

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 13:10

It’s throwing us curved balls too, but I guess a lot is on the editing of it to make it appear like that and a lot of the time it is probably boring for them.
They looked fed up to be back at the train station too.

It's got to be very boring for them. Can you imagine being on a coach for such a long time without seeing outside, stretching your legs.

Cabin fever is going to get you

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 13:31

You’d be bored I’m sure. All that lovely scenery and they can’t see any of it until they stop and then it’s all undercover and remote or through those horrible glasses! I know it’s a big pay out for the winner , but it’s not an easy game show to win in this respect.

Generally, they seem to have very poor problem- solving skills, which all the tests yesterday showed up. Fine not to know what flags you are looking for, but if your fellow player has just identified a suitcase with the right flags on it, why wouldn’t you look at it yourself to identify which flags you need? The girls did much better at the menu task by identifying dominant flavours and looking for anything that looked similar to those words in English - they boys just decided to try every combination. And no-one seemed to take everything out of the box first so they could do a yes/no test on whether it was in or out.

Glad Rob Bryson is hosting - telling them no one had died and they’d see ?James again was just what was needed

Yes! They were being so dramatic about that. And his raised eyebrow at the misreading of Matterhorn clue. Why does Saskia keep being cross with people for playing a game? That's literally what it is.

What do they do about food?
Drinks?
Does the bus stop in the evening so they can socialise?
What if they need "space" - there's not much space on a coach
Exercise - and fresh air.

I think even people on Big Brother had a garden to explore

I was on a gameshow once - and we had a weekend away before the actual game started - to get to know each other's skills.

The game started then.

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 17:23

Rob Brydon mentioned the chemical toilet change , so I assume they have to go to the other coach when the cleaners come in and food deliveries show up and it’s all done undercover or at night or something like that.
The drivers must change over or go to a hotel or b and b, but the actual logistics of it all are not really shown much!

HollyhockDays · 07/08/2025 17:40

@Serensteri said that to DH about the cases!

SwedishEdith · 07/08/2025 19:02

How many episodes are there? I agree with a pp that they'll stick to Western Europe as their geography knowledge seems so woeful. But if only 6 episodes, for example, can't see how they could fit in Barcelona and Stockholm.
