As I say, this is the countdown to the end, now we're in the last week of the series. I think it finishes on 4th Aug... Just over a week away.

No clear winner(s) at the moment really, quite a few unlikeable contestants, and lots of arguments and discord! I'm almost looking forward to this series ending to be honest! 😆

Just that we're seeing things differently from each other. People do sometimes have differing opinions?

The thing is every single couple is contrived. Thats sort of the purpose of the show.
They are all contestants on a game show. Everyone of them are acting on a tv set. They are surrounded by microphones, lighting, crew. They are told when to go to bed and when to get up, when to chat, who to chat to, who to go on dates with, manipulated to choose certain contestants at recouplings, told the order to play the games to create the most controversy. Its a tv show, its a game.

You could argue that some of the masks are slipping as they near the end whereas Harry flung his mask off early on in the show and behaved very badly so people saw very early on what he was like. The other's masks are slipping now.

It won't happen but the people who were the most interesting to watch overall should win. They are the ones who pulled in the viewers, the ones people that created a bit of a stir, the ones who showed their true colours earlier and viewers could decide if they were contestants to keep in or out of the game (at least until the producers overwrote the public's decisions as happened with Megan and Blu. The entire game is manipulated.

Who the hell is voting for Meg and Dejon?
I agree that Dejon is one of the worst contestants on Love Island and I don’t say that lightly .
I don’t think much of Meg but that man has me almost feeling sorry for her .
He is so unbelievably vile that I have started muting the volume when he starts talking .
If my son behaved the way he has I would be thoroughly ashamed .
You can almost see him plotting his very next move . Can’t bear him.

I don't think for a second that anyone is fooled into thinking that Harry's had a personality transplant. Shakira seems genuine in her feelings towards him though and he also seems to like her. I don't believe he has it in him yet to stay faithful on the outside world but I believe there's a genuine connection between them within the villa. I doubt they'll win because of Harry but I'm less annoyed by them together after initially thinking wtf!

I was starting to warm towards Conor and Megan so I'm sorry to them go.

But absolutely none of them are going to last on the outside. Harry is nowhere near as bad in my opinion. Dejon has been nasty to every girl in there. He is horrible.

I've never thought of Mustard as particularly good looking, but I did used to think he had a lovely smile. Now, on the rare chance he flashes it, all I hear is "here's Johnny!" 🪓 🪓 Proper freaks me out 😱

I think that Harry is awful. I think he doesn’t get as much heat as Dejon because even though he is a gaslighting prick ( just like Dejon)he is not as confrontational
Also, he admits when he is wrong( which I think is very manipulative) , but it seems to work in his favour
I agree that there is something uncomfortable about Harry but I can’t put my finger on it .

I agree Lampzade about Harry. His current part is that of the 'loveable rogue' but he has treated people appallingly in there. He has the sense of entitlement and self confidence that rich people have in abundance. Is he rich I wonder? I can see why Shakira would be a bit in awe of him.
Shakira and Toni have been the most interesting to watch this series. I hope that I hope that Shakira's mum is going to take her aside and help her get over him.

Dejon’s current behaviour now makes me look at the way he was towards Bilikiss and Yaz in a new light. A sinister one.

I was really surprised to see Conor and Megan go, the vote was for "most compatible" and I think they were that. I guess it is really most liked. (But I don't agree with her going be back in & being able to win).

I'd be interested to see the split on the votes.

Also would love to know the result if the vote was least compatible/ least liked.

Let’s be honest H is more likeable and funnier than D he doesnt take himself too seriously unlike D which is why more people like him. D has a dark controlling side H is just ruled by his dick but has not come across as controlling and sinister. I’ll say it again Mug RUN !

Pulling together a fun best bits reel for Meg and D is going to a challenge for the team. Meg looks like she’s constantly practicing her Joey from Friends “smell the fart face” and they just don’t seem to have any fun or lighthearted moments.

I think the voting viewers got wise to the “most compatible” votes a few seasons ago and started voting to express approval/disapproval.

A few years ago, there was a bloke who was being bullied by everyone after he’d been dumped nastily by a popular girl and him and his partner (who didn’t even seem to like him much having got stuck with him at the end of a re-coupling), were voted most compatible to the amazement of all of them.

That was the viewers saying “stuff trying to manipulate us, we’re sticking up for the poor bloke”.

I don't like D's behaviour usually and think he's very controlling but I don't think he did much wrong during the challenge or afterwards. Meg over reacted to this which might be indicative that she's had enough of his usual ways and is sticking up for herself. I honestly just think Meg is not very bright but she's seen the light since her family came in - I really hope they don't win and she feels like she has to stay with him.

I quite like Harry with Shakira against all of my instincts. They seem happy and having fun, whether they lasts who knows but I think they have a really good chance of winning now - they've had a great edit this week. Same with Toni and Cach, think they look and feel good.

I'm sad Conor has gone, I really liked him and liked him and Meghan too. Ty and Angel are full and I really hope they don't win.

Harry doesn't seem bitchy or controlling. I like that he values Shakira for her intelligence and he doesn't seem to be intimidated by it. I think he has some decent qualities underneath it all - his main faults seem to be that he's a bit weak and has historically gone with what's easy, rather than what's best!

What is it with some of these girls though and their overwhelming desire to be coupled up with the most unworthy men?
I saw Harrison and limpet Lauren on GMTV - she's still clinging to him, even though he didn't follow her out of the villa straight away, and still won't commit to being her boyfriend. He's still using those vacuous LI terms of 'being exclusive'. That might mean something in the villa, but not when you're sat on Lorraine's sofa! When is that girl going to find her self esteem? See also Helena and the way she just couldn't leave Harry alone, even after his appalling behaviour. Also Toni re Harrison! Why are these lovely women, who could get any number of decent partners, so desperate to be the girlfriends of men who couldn't give two hoots either way?

D is awful. If he really valued Meg he'd have written a different name, to spare her feelings and protect her pride. He miscalculated, but will blame her if they don't win.

Not getting the love for Yas. Jamie deserves better - they are not a great couple. She doesn't know anything about him, isn't interested enough to learn (got all their quiz answers wrong), they have nothing in common, she doesn't want kids and he does. I just can't see that working out. If he pissed off if I was him - why would she write D? Agree it seems like she has mentionitis!

Lots of comments that the reason Meg and Dejon are having issues is because they no longer have a buffer in Helena and Harry.

As part of a group they didn’t have the same intensity as just the two of them.

I think they relied on light hearted characters such as Helena and Harry to deflect from any underlying issues.

According to Daily Fail this morning they may pull the show due to having so many complaints about the bullying going on saying Shakira is the worse affected really ?? Her Toni and Yas are just as bad in their little group

I said in a previous post that Yas always wanted Dejon.
Yas is not interested in Jamie and he knows it

I agree re: Yas, I like her but not her and Jamie. He seems like a really nice guy but they just aren't compatible. It feels really fake and wooden and I've thought that since the beginning.

Out of all the couples left, I would say Shakira and Harry are the most compatible, which is really annoying because can you IMAGINE how smug Harry will be if he wins?

Cach and Toni - love both but I don't think Cach has truly forgiven Toni, and I think he is with her because it was his best chance at staying in the villa.
Jamie and Yas - cute, probably my favourite, but the baby stuff does throw up future compatibility questions. And I'm not sure they actually have much sexual chemistry.
Meg and Dejon - very incompatible. Meg was too clingy from the start when Dejon wanted to explore, and I think Dejon just felt forced to stay with her which has built a lot of resentment.
Ty and Angel - cute together, but just a bit too convenient.

Conor and Megan were very compatible imo but it didn't seem fair for Megan to have a chance of winning after she's already been booted out the villa.

I enjoyed the first half of this series, it felt like producers had listened and stopped with the manufactured morning chats and cringe tasks like the food swap; but its been too uncomfortable and now unenjoyable for me due to the toxicity. I will admit I enjoy drama on reality TV, but there is some genuinely nasty behaviour in there, and I think most are as bad as eachother in different ways. I still like LI and have watched every series, so i am not usually critical and usually take it for what it is- light entertainment and not that serious.

I think you have to ask who genuinely likes each other and who has been the most entertaining. It is Shakira and Harry for me.
