As I say, this is the countdown to the end, now we're in the last week of the series. I think it finishes on 4th Aug... Just over a week away.

No clear winner(s) at the moment really, quite a few unlikeable contestants, and lots of arguments and discord! I'm almost looking forward to this series ending to be honest! 😆

As you were folks!

Dijon and Meg are just short of jumping into the pool to avoid having their microphones on.
Dijon was awful to Meg. But Meg is equally awful.
Apart from their argument 'in front of the cameras' and their cheating through the game, voting Helena as winner of the 'talent' contest because she roasted Harry, was another tactic and Meg revelled in voting for Helena.

The elephant in the room was Harry and Shakira came out as joint first place. The girl has fallen for him and while I hope he will, I don't think he's capable of treating her well on the outside. I felt for Shakira when she spoke about how she felt relieved Helena was gone. She's transparent and I think is genuine.

I've very little time for Angel.

Dijon said 'all the people who have come into the villa and told him whats been said on the outside' - Blu and Megan but do Cash and Angel and other bombshells do the same?

I like Con but I really think its unfair if Con and Megan win. She has changed her ways since re-entering as obviously realised her authentic, bolshy self got her kicked out.

I would imagine that Dejon - as a tall, very muscular Black man, has received instruction, long before LI, on how to avoid being seen as ‘intimidating’ or threatening - to women in particular. That must make a decent quarrel with a tiny girlfriend, in front of cameras, difficult to navigate for him.

But also, all the men on LI look away from their partners when they’re conversing. I guess that’s just basic staging.

Yes @CountessOfCandles I've noticed it's not only Dejon; Harry and Helena rarely looked at each other when speaking, I thought anyway - I was always shouting at those two to look at who you're speaking to!

Dejons brother has been slagging off Megs sister on TikTok.

That relationship is gonna turn very messy very quickly in a few weeks I think

That’s awful

CagneyNYPD1 · 31/07/2025 23:39

All the way through, Dejon has said things to Meg that have rung alarm bells. The insistence on her having his back to others even if he is wrong. The insistence that he can flirt with any woman as they were open. The threatening to change his mind over going exclusive. And many more. All the while, not once has Meg entertained anyone else. The red flags have been flying high and they keep on flying.

Dejon was pissed off and he took it out on Meg. He wouldn’t let her speak and when she did, he didn’t want to listen. He ambushes her and bombards her with criticism to throw her off guard. Meg isn’t as quick witted as Toni or Shakira in an argument. She also isn’t as measured as Yasmin. Dejon knows this and uses this to turn everything on her.

Meg is in no way my fave islander but by goodness, no one deserves to be treated the way he treats her.

Givemethesun · 31/07/2025 23:48

I’m a few episodes behind but I think Meg is actually not very intelligent at all and dejon uses this to his advantage

JustSawJohnny · 31/07/2025 23:53

I've very little time for Angel.

Me either but I'm not sure why.

Mean girl vibes?

I'm 100% sure Ty can do better.

pinkdelight · 31/07/2025 23:55

D&M cheating on the quiz (on at least 3 questions, so much it became their default) was the perfect microcosm of how they’ve been through the whole show. D is insanely competitive and can’t stand to lose so will do whatever it takes including faking and cheating. Meg is dim and insecure and will do anything to please ‘my man’ D and keep her imagined top spot. And so they get the hollow victory of a faked win, and surprise surprise it all instantly goes to shit when they try to deal with an actual truth - that he likes other girls (duh) and doesn’t like Meg enough to even be basically nice to her.

She was being annoying and doing her OTT ‘must have my back’ crap, but he still was horrible the way he cut her off and shut her down. How does he “100 per cent” know what she remembers?? He’s saying the same gaslighting script he did with Billykiss and other girls he’s treated badly and Meg is no different to him. She’s useful to his plan, until she steps out of line and then he’s ice cold. He’s paranoid AF about how they’re perceived and yet doesn’t get the fundamental of the show that what works is being honest.

It was lovely to see Megan and Connor and several other couples laugh about being wrong and losing, because they’re at ease with each other and themselves and not so desperate. Dejon thinks it’s attractive to pretend to fear ‘nothing’, but he’s ruled by fear and rules with it, and it’s ugly to watch. No doubt they’ll ’squash it’ tomorrow but the damage is surely done. Who can be fooled by them now?

Also thought it was pretty rich of Meg to say all that to Megan about what big mates they are now Helena’s left. Mere hours after making her cry and stirring shit with Connor - and now reassuring her the ‘blip’ is over. Uh, the blip created by Dejon to try to split them up!! And the way she’d have allowed Dejon to fancy Angel because she’s no threat. The list of red flags goes on and on…

heroinechic · 31/07/2025 23:57

I think Dejon will have been wondering why they seem to be so unpopular on the outside (never coming top of a vote and voted all the worst things on the podium challenge).

At first he probably assumed it was because he was flirting with other girls, then he thought it was the other women in the villa making him look bad. After the convo with Blu, he’ll now be thinking it’s all Meg’s fault because she’s been mean to Shakira.

I think she’s just a non-entity. The bar is low on there but she can barely sustain a conversation. Say what one likes about Shakira and Harry, but it’s a nice change for someone to pick brains and sense of humour instead of frikkin eyes for once.

@GoldThumb I’ve just watched dejon’s brothers video. I am in shock

they’re all the same!

@GoldThumb I’ve just watched dejon’s brothers video. I am in shock

they’re all the same!

There’s another sister who’s making TikTok’s too, sticking up for TikTok brother, but calling Dejon a cockroach (Dejon and her share TikTok brother as a half sibling, they are not related to each other)

The whole family desperately needs media training 🙈

Also, Toni’s mum is great on there, just watched a video of her telling people to leave Cachs brother and sister alone, and if they were frosty to Toni it’s their right and to be expected.

The family dramas are as much as the show at this point!

CellophaneFlower · 01/08/2025 00:27

Mustard belittling Meg for checking her spelling. Then he spelt Caribbean wrong 🤣 and it's supposed to be his favourite place. God that felt good.

ILoveBrum · 01/08/2025 00:30

Is there a link to tik tok brother & his sister?

I hope Yas isn’t planning on a conversation with Dejon about them having “unfinished business” on the back of all this.

Blueyshift · 01/08/2025 08:42

Givemethesun · 31/07/2025 23:39

That’s awful

No meg fan but calling her sister Miss Trunchball is absolutely out or order. Meg would be better free from D.

MargoLivebetter · 01/08/2025 08:43

No surprises there then!! Mustard showing Mug who he clearly is; a man who must be heard, must not be disagreed with and above all whose image is more important than his 'romantic' relationship.

I thought it was interesting to see that there were 3 women who didn't want any children. Obviously they may change their mind, but from a societal perspective that interested me, given birth rates are dropping.

The only couple I think who have half a hope of making it for more than 5 minutes on the outside are Conor and Megan.

Picoloangel · 01/08/2025 08:58

I don’t think Yas would have anything to do with Dejon now. She knows who he is. She’s also too clever, independent and savvy for
Dejon. The last thing he wants is a woman who might actually stand up to him.

It’s such a shame that Jamie has been upset by it. I can sort of see where both Meg and Jamie are coming from in terms of the fact that Dejon and Yas don’t get along and have come to blows a few times. In the words of the Islanders though I really don’t think it’s that deep. They were honest and it was a challenge many weeks after an initial attraction.

I am grimly fascinated by how Dejon is unravelling.

I thought that was interesting also. How hard it is to have a career and family and have it all. Also the cost. It was really interesting. Though as you say they may change their mind.

CountessOfCandles · 01/08/2025 09:13

It can probably only do Jamie good in terms of popularity for him to show some emotion. He’s been so irredeemably bland it’s actually detracted from his pretty face.

Must be annoying though! All the weeks he’s spent carefully demonstrating he’s nothing like Dejon - only to find that his partner still fancies the evil controlling prick!

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 01/08/2025 09:28

Note to Dejon’s brother, if you are going to insult someone please make sure you have the correct name prepared for your burn.

Mumbling about Miss Churchill from Matilda was not it.

I would have thought the same about Yas, but then why is she saying she'd choose him over any of the others if Jamie wasn't there? Surely Ty is far more preferable and seems similar to Jamie in temperament? Also would have caused no beef at all. I'm all for being honest but it does seem unnecessary and hurtful to Jamie that she named Mustard. It makes it seem like all the tension between them is sexual. I can only think she has some kind of motive to do it, either to let Mustard know she's interested or to stir things up for Meg.

You’re right and I hadn’t thought of it like that. Interesting that neither Dejon nor Yas went safe as most other people did. Jamie really
did look hurt l.
