I don't understand the big fuss about the bikini comment. She didn't say anything about Helena's body, she just said the bikini didn't fit her properly, which is not surprising given how different their figures are.

The Emily incident I will concede was unpleasant and appeared to come out of the blue, but as ever we only saw a fraction of what lead up to it.

Helena was already wearing the bikini so what would be the point in telling her not to wear it? And wbat were the awful comments she made? IIRC correctly she just said something about it not fitting her properly and didn’t comment any further. Given that we’ve literally just seen Helena call the latest bombshell a “fish cake” (whatever that means) to Harry then I think Shakira’s comment was pretty tame. And justified.

Apparently fish cake is an insult for someone who lacks personality.

Tbh I dislike it anyway when men can only give a toss about what happens to women by imagining that they're their sister/mother/daughter, as if we aren't worthy of empathy if we aren't some biological extension of them.

I was surprised Cache said it for this reason.

Shakira definitely has an unpleasant side and can make snide comments. The difference IMO is that Shakira is reactive, rather than proactive. It doesn’t seem that being snide/rude is part of her nature, rather it’s a reaction to her feelings being hurt by others. I think we all have the propensity to be unpleasant when circumstances allow.

The OG girls had it out for Shakira from day 1 when Toni arrived and Shakira had to snag another man otherwise she’d be sent home. They didn’t like
how she flirted with all the guys (even though most of them didn’t like their match) and they didn’t like how the men were fawning all over her.

The incident with Emily was one of the worst I’ve seen on LI in terms of bitchiness. We didn’t have much context, but I think Toni was just wound up by her and didn’t know how to get away from it, she was empowered by Shakira.

As already said, there was little opportunity for Shakira to communicate clearly because Helena (deliberately) had already chosen to wear her bikini without permission to wind her up.

Re "imagine it was your sister or..." makes me realise I've never once heard someone say, "imagine it was your brother" because everyone automatically think of men as humans in their own right.

I didnt watch the first few weeks so not sure what happened with Emily, I think as others have said the bikini comment as Shakira said herself was meant be nasty as a reaction to her behaviour- PP has summed it up well that S is more reactive rather than some of the others who are nasty for no real reason.

I see in his first interview Harrison is doubling down on wanting to be with Lauren and that they'll be on Aftersun together tonight. Surely everyone knows this is fake I just hope Lauren does!

Have Shakira and Conor cooled things? I was hoping they could go onto win! I'm not bothered who wins as long as it's not H&H or M&D to avoid seeing their smug faces! Maybe Yasmin and Jamie could potentially win even without much drama or screen time as they actually seem quite sweet together.

I'm no fan of Emma and find her conversations with Harry completely contradictory and calculating. I think she might be struggling with feeling a bit excluded within the group, which she's probably not used to as she comes across with 'Queen Bee' energy. The way she's handling things is not doing herself any favours though!

That’s so true about the brother angle, no one says that and it shows how weird it is, not to give a shit otherwise. And yet so many guys (like Harrison) need the sister line to have the revelation. I’ll accept that maybe Cach was using that to help H with his limited thinking.

I agree that there was no “body shaming” aspect to the comment re the bikini. It was a simple fact. I also think people have forgotten how relentlessly vile Helena, Emily and Meg were to Shakira and their staggering hypocrisy in encouraging Helena whilst fuming any time anyone went near Tommy or Dejon.

Helena was absolutely horrendous to Shakira - deliberately winding her up with Harry and then Ty. Completely disregarding Shakira’a feelings and all whilst wearing Shakira’s bikinis. It was very weird.

Shakira is 22. Helena is older. I think Shakira has handled herself really well. Harry has basically bullied Shakira ever since he recoupled and I think he’s the one who regrets recoupling with Helena and so tries to sabotage anything going well for Shakira. The fact that he’s shown zero sexual interest in Helena speaks volumes.

Since when is saying something doesn't fit "body shaming".... The bikini didn't fit her, in the clip you can see her pulling at the straps that are falling down which is exactly what Shakira commented on. Look at the 2 of them, Shakira has much bigger boobs than Helena, to think the same item of clothing would fit them both is stupid!

As I've said before, really not a Toni fan, but imagine how lonely Shakira would be if she had never come in.

One thing I’m confused about is I actually think mustard’s behaviour is as bad or worse than Harrison’s. If Harrison had acted how he had to a different girl who wasn’t crying after knowing him for four days he wouldn’t have been asked to leave (assuming he was) or received the woman’s aid statement. I think Dejon has said some truly manipulative things to Meg but because she is a different character has responded differently to Lauren

This is my take on Bikinigate…The bikini didn’t fit Helena properly because it wasn’t her bikini. The straps kept falling down hence the comment from Shakira. Yes, the comment was delivered in an unpleasant way but that was in reaction to Helena’s goading.

Wearing another woman’s bikini, without asking, then flirting with the fella that woman is coupled up with is a bit weird. And we know all of this because of Helena’s comments to Meg whilst getting ready.

Helena’s multiple comments about other female contestants personalities is far more bitchy imo. She called Yasmin boring and likened her to a plank of wood and she called Angel a fish cake. All used as a way to put the women down whilst talking to Harry. She’s the kind of woman who gets her confidence by making other women feel shit. I have never seen Shakira do that.

I actually think Dejon is the worst of the lot. On paper he hasn't been as brazen - ie taking other girl to the hideaway like Harry, or telling other girls he wants to couple up with them like Harrison. But he's more sly. He was getting in Harrison's ear about Lauren when he was with Toni, and I think he was getting in Harry's ear about Helena when he was with Shakira. He talks down to a lot of the women after shamelessly flirting with them and telling them how attractive they are behind Meg's back. He's kept Meg hanging on by dangling the carrot of 'exclusivity' in front of her until he's exhausted all other avenues. And his behaviour on movie night was atrocious - saying things like 'I said it because that's how I felt!' and 'why can't you all just let me be who I am?' And when he made a big point of asking all the boys if they remembered in which challenge Toni had said about Meg breathing down his neck, like that had any bearing on the situation whatsoever.

I also don't see any chemistry between him
and Meg at all.

Watching Mustard blatantly building up to falsely declare ‘I lurve you’ is so going to backfire for him. Do they think the public are thick and can’t see the step by step bullshit script? If it goes anywhere near a public vote, he’s out.

Not a Helena fan but I do think she has a beautiful figure. Smaller boobs for a change. Rather than all the usual boob job girls.
Have liked Shakira from the start, unapologetically herself and yes as someone observed she is only mean when emotionally provoked in the heat of the moment.
Tony I didn’t like to start with but she has really grown on me so much personality and wit whilst still being vulnerable and herself. I had forgotten how mean she was to Emily though that wasn’t nice to watch.
Sorry to see Harrison go . Not sad to see Lauren go at all. Would have liked to see Harrison and Shakira together did they ever have any connection if so what happened.

Oh and my view is Harry and Emma are still together. Let’s see what happens there if it is all just an act.

Emily has spoken about the bikini as a non-issue. Saying when clothes come back from laundry they’re all in a big bag and they all fish out what they want to wear, taking each others so they’re not in the same things all the time.
People will probably say that is because she was friends with Helena and not Shakira.
But it sounded totally plausible to me.

Except that Helena specifically said she was taking Shakira’s @jay55 so whilst that may be true re the laundry bag, H definitely did it to be nasty and provocative to Shakira (especially as it was at the time Harry was with Shakira & H was after him).

It’s not always what you say, but how you say it. The comment was definitely meant to imply something. Just look at her face and her tone. Emma is also like this - her delivery says more than what’s actually said.
