So Sasha has withdrawn from Toronto -which is hardly surprising, he has played so much lately.
Will need hard court practice before the US Open, so will probably go tp Cincy.

I wonder who he was thinking of when he says they play five sets without breaking a sweat?

I can see that that would make sense (indoor when it's hot)- but they seem to play indoors when the weather is the worst in Europe.

It would have to fit in with the tour end finals -but at one stage that was in indoors on carpet (which is why Mac won so many)

I doubt they would move AO again.

I don't really know what the answer is- it's one of the few sports where individuals are expected to play in all 4 corners of the globe - and not be afffected by it.

Well , it wasn't Rafa- because- because we know he used to sweat a lot.

Wow, a lightning suspension!

I missed the end of then Daniil match - sad he lost that- but saw the end of the ADF one, as it was still going at nearly 7am uk time! Very good win for ADF in the end.

He's going to be exhausted.

The end of Daniil’s match was farcical. After the lightning delay it was 5-4 to Moutet with Daniil serving, and he played a shocking service game with 3 double faults. Meanwhile Corentin was cramping and could barely move, yet still managed some ridiculous gets. Daniil had a massive tantrum after he lost. I think the conditions played a huge role, honestly.

I am delighted ADF won!

I saw that Daniil was, erm, not happy.

I am VERY pleased with the ADF result, especially against a US crowd(not so many left by then)but he's got Shelton next, which could be tough.
He's so close to his career high tracking 21, and getting in to the top 20. But he needs another win.

It will be his 3rd US opponent in a row, too.

I would love ADF to make the final but I think he could struggle to recover in time. I also think the fast conditions suit Ben’s game,
plus he’s from Florida so used to playing in a swamp. I think it will be Ben vs ADM in the final.

I saw the end of the match. It was like a comedy show.

I agree ADF will have a tough time against Ben - plus I think Ben brings a different energy to the match.

I'm looking forward to Bublik /Cazaux later- I've enjoyed Kitzbuhel this week, even the rain delays have been fun . Sasha is having a great few months.

Crowd in Kitzbuhel seem yo have come prepared- lots of ponchos in evidence.

The weather doesn't look too clever.
