What age do you think is ok to watch Casualty?

I watched from very young id say 6 or 7. My mum banded me from watching it for a bit but I donโ€™t think that lasted long. However that was the 80โ€™s.. I personally wouldnโ€™t let my 9 year old watch it. Is it more graphic now than back then I wonder.

Oh no, she'll be back to finish that ridiculous storyline.

Reasonable amount of Dylan today, tolerable amount of Faith. I like how lovely Nicole was to the new ones. But as ever, they'll start off crap with individual quirks, then morph into the usual characters.

An be a super duper nurse !

The surname thing is that Dylan had a fling at uni with his mum and thinks he might be his dad.

Oh the sarah thing ?

I couldnโ€™t work out what it was about

Dylan said something about the second name being unusual, and he's heard it once ? before when he was at Uni, he had a fling with someone with that name and her first name was Sarah.
Upon questioning by Stevie, it turns out that this young man's mother's name is... yes of course Sarah. Therefore we are led to think that this may be Dylan's son.

MsFelicityLemon · 11/01/2026 09:03

Just started watching it. It jumps straight into the staff stories, and so far thereโ€™ve been two sets of patients from incidents we know nothing about. Has made me realise I really do miss the Casualty of old where it started with the build up to an incident!!

Been watching the classic ones and Iโ€™d say they were equally graphic and if anything more violence in the back stories. Currently up to the F2s Yuki, May and Lenny, Nick with his brain tumour and Adam and Zoe in ED.

Oh yes, the traditional old man on a wobbly step ladder intro was gold and I miss it.

it felt very rehashed today and agree about the random characters that were obviously well known but weโ€™ve never experienced.

i loved it, but they need to kick it up a notch!

spiderlight · 11/01/2026 10:58

Yeah, you just know that if it's new residents' day, there's going to be a silly ditsy girly with pink hair accessories who will turn out to be brilliant half-way through the series, and a rugged one who's too cocky for his own good.

HobnobsChoice · 12/01/2026 01:12

I was tickled by the number of fans they had managed to put in one department with broken Aircon. If it's anything like the hospitals I've experienced you'd be able to find about 6, one would keep clicking the whole time and if you're lucky someone might get sent to buy a couple more which then end up disappearing and are found in the offices of non clinic staff!

Internaut · 12/01/2026 01:34

In RL, I can't see the CQC getting too excited about one newly qualified doctor moaning about his first day in ED. I don't think that conditions at Holby are really any worse than in any hospital A&E all over the country.

Still, this being Casualty, the CQC will instantly drop everything and start jackbooting around with clipboards, putting everyone in terror of losing their jobs. I'm sure we've been here before.

EBearhug · 12/01/2026 01:38

It being Casualty, they will also overlook all the unreasonable HR practices, treating of family members, etc, etc, while clipboarding about normal everyday activities

Did anyone else spot Maddie from series 1 of The Traitors playing the sunburned woman?

FurForksSake · 13/01/2026 07:18

No, but we didnโ€™t watch series one or the traitors ๐Ÿคฃ we are late adopters. Thatโ€™s cool though

I did! Well I spent the whole episode knowing I recognised her then googled the name once the credits came up and thatโ€™s when I realised.

LondonLady1980 · 14/01/2026 23:25

I normally hate it when new junior doctors join the cast but I actually quite liked these two.

But good Lordโ€ฆ.. what has happened to Dylanโ€™s hair? He looks awful!

And why does Iain look so thin?

Dylan and Iain were always my eye candy of the show and they both let me down tonight ๐Ÿ˜‚

I guess I will just move on to enjoying Dr Matty, his tattooed biceps and his lovely soft Liverpool accent ๐Ÿ˜

FurForksSake · 17/01/2026 20:53

Ooh itโ€™s a fun one. Iโ€™m wondering something about someone. Will post once I think most people have watched in case itโ€™s a spoiler.

bizzey · 17/01/2026 22:52

Has Rash left ?

Internaut · 17/01/2026 23:20

I'm wondering why Dylan hasn't apparently checked out the date of birth of new doctor. At least it would give him some idea of whether it would be possible for him to be his son.

bizzey · 17/01/2026 23:23

I did laugh at his not so subtle asking rh young doctor his blood type !

i just assumed he did and thatโ€™s why he mentioned dates and times because he had something to compare it too?

Has Rash left ?

No - I saw him briefly, pretty much in the background. I can't remember if it was last night's or the week before, but he was definitely there.

LondonLady1980 · 18/01/2026 08:02

He was there last nightโ€ฆ.. and I thought he looked like he was going grey. Heโ€™s been in the show for so long now that I canโ€™t believe they still havenโ€™t given him a happy ending with a lovely woman cos he certainly deserves one.

LIZS · 18/01/2026 08:03

Is that the last of Ngozi? It seemed unnecessarily explanative of her situation.

LondonLady1980 · 18/01/2026 08:28

Does anyone want to come forward with any suggestions as to why Dr Chang was anxiously looking at the clock when it was the end of the shift and why she was visibly stressed by trying to get out of going to the pub for drinks after work?

She clearly needed to get home for something.

When she kept looking at the clock she seemed very anxious by the fact that it was a few minutes past 8pm as though even being there just those few minutes after the shift was supposed to have finished was going to have consequences of some sortโ€ฆโ€ฆ.

What do we think? Young children that she leaves home alone whilst she works as she no childcare?

I do hope so. She was getting really tedious.
