Is it me or has this had a massive drop in quality?

I absolutely love First Dates.

But it used to be quite psychologically interesting as you'd often have some complicated characters and there could often be some friction.

In recent series I feel like every couple is just "heartwarming"? I also feel like they've chosen people who might have a more interesting look but actually have a less interesting psychology.

I thought this was quite sad, as im pretty sure the light went out of the non-couple womans eyes. Then she "snapped herself out of it".

Nah, she's one of the residents on Open House, The Sex Experiment and this is very much her thing

Just because shes a seasoned polyamorist doesn't mean shes necessarily enamoured about going on First Dates and finding herself in the age old position of having to "school" someone who's new to the game, plus absorb the fact that there's also a fairly uncharismatic guy to contend with

i appeared on last weeks episode
The editing has made me look completely different to the person I thought I was.
I suffered a TIA ( mini stroke ) a month ago and I ve had old friends phone me to ask if it was filmed after the stroke concerned as to my mental health as they did not recognise me form the way I was portrayed.
One thing which has concerned me was.
I ordered an Apeol Spritz, ( Prosecco, Aperol and soda water)
I saw Merlin pour Gin into the glass, sort of under the counter so that I couldn't really see him do it.
Thinking he was a "famous' cocktail bar man , and not wanting emo]barass myself by asking what he was doing , thinking may be there might be a "Sicilian ' version with Gin and not wishing to look ignorant I said nothing.
during the meal I had another glass of wine, at the dnd of the meal I never felt drunk, but felt id had more to drink than I thought I had
Cut a long story short , I had enough complained about the Gin being added,
I ve had an email response telling that as I watched him do it they can see no reason to complain, I asked what if I have an allergy to gin, ( which I haven't drunk for 42 years) well we asked if you has an allergies
What about spoiling drinks/ well you saw it.

Watched last night’s episode very strange the guy who didn’t see his mum in 9 years he was odd…he seemed irked by the waiter too !

The ex police woman seemed manic and OTT she needed to calm down a bit …her date guy thought the same.

Felt a bit sorry for the guy with ADHD …

He had autism not ADHD

I loved the ex police woman and thought her date was rude and hard work. She deserved much better!

@4u2nome I'm not sure who you were on there or if that was you but if it was, you came across just fine!

Rosie with the entertainer guy, she was lovely and looked so nervous at the end when it was getting to the stage of having to say yes or no, could tell earlier that she wasn't feeling it romantically

The yacht couple were odd and badly matched on paper since she wants a settled life now, she had an interesting accent

Dominic and Stephen seemed so different I thought how can this work but they seemed to gel really well

I haven't posted here for self promotion , but was trying to warn anyone considering going on to the show to be very carefull

the answers to questions broadcast on the episode were edited in a way to give a totally different answer to ones I gave
one question I wasn't even asked and I'm not sure if the answer shown is AI generated or merely the editing of other questions to give dialogue for the show.

Since airing, I ve been approached by 5 different strangers in the street and on trains, basically saying oh I saw you on the TV, they never showed you in a very good way did they, you come across as such boring old man.
