Nostalgia. Yes but does it have to be flat? His oral cancer was in 2000. Full recovery I’m glad to say.

lifeonmars100 · 29/06/2025 20:45

Rod's show was perfect for the "legends" spot, visually entertaining, full of crowd pleasing nostalgia. It was slick and well produced, he is another one whose years of performing have taught him how to work an audience, I am not a fan but oh, some of those tunes brought back memories.

littlbrowndog · 29/06/2025 20:45

Just great thanks rod. ♥️

@Donttellempike People are allowed opinions though! Rod isn’t slow at coming forward with opinions! It’s not inaccurate. His voice has gone. Diana Ross was the same. They get by because they have brilliant musicians and backing vocalists and we know all the songs. He was flat at times. He’s not anywhere near what he was. Needed to be there in his pomp. This is a cabaret show. Depends if you like that or not.

Yes. And I’m allowed mine

littlbrowndog · 29/06/2025 20:46

Thers a good YouTube where Bowie played Glastonbury. It’s worth a watch

Edited

Maybe give him some lessons?

afaloren · 29/06/2025 20:47

Noah Kahan was just brilliant! I’d like to see a collaboration between him and Myles Smith.

Jellykat · 29/06/2025 20:47

Coolio @scoobysnaxx i see your reasoning when introducing songs, but he seems to do it every interview..

Anywaaaay, peace love and Glasto vibes Smile lets debate no further and crack on with the music..

Am watching an Australian band called Parcels, they're reminding me a bit of Fleet Foxes and The Temper trap who i loved, where did they go?

What I am sick of, is every time something stops , they seem to play the Script.

Sorry, but I never liked the Script, They feel even more dated than Rod,

Future islands have just started- I love them- but don't expect to understand a word he's singing Grin.He get's very over excited live.

I first saw them on Jools Holland years ago, doing 'Seasons' and to be honest , alot of their songs sound very similar, and the act hasn't changed much . But the lead singer fascinates me Grin.

I saw that Jools Holland episode too and they made a definite impression - that stripper move he did two thirds through the song. I had to keep rewinding to check it actually happened! I’ll be catching up on their set on iPlayer.

I was just saying this! So dull

Madonna is 100% headliner, not legend. The field would be to Elton-capacity!

i mentioned to dh that Madonna would be a great shout earlier.

I’m loving Niles Rogers. Just catching up. Just a complete sing a long.
I think Bowie was my favourite ever at Glastonbury though Elton was great last year.

oh I remember that! it was when he had his hair in pre-raphalite waves and played a fabulous set with such wit and charm. Huge fan, as you can see from my user name

I think both Fleet Foxes and Temper Trap lost some of the original members and neither have released anything for several years to my knowledge. Not seen them on tour lists either.

Perhaps they are just off doing other stuff.

I loved Rod, he put on a good show his singing sounded alright, though it's hard to tell on iPlayer and the crowd did seem to be loving it, DS is there and did say he would be watching him. I also liked Neil Young which fortunately I recorded as it doesn't seem to be on iPlayer, I can guarantee that DS didn't watch Neil Young.

youhavenoidea6 · 29/06/2025 20:55

Girl in red's set was a fun watch - today on the Park Stage at 4.30

Jellykat · 29/06/2025 20:55

AJ Tracey is going down a storm on the Woodsies stage.

Not my thing usually - I quite like some of it.

the80sweregreat · 29/06/2025 20:58

I’m sad I won’t see Neil young as it’s not on I player.
Would it be on u tube ?
what’s going on with that !
