@C8H10N4O2 great link !

Its often worth capturing the programme id (pid) for a series you are following. Every series, season and episode has a pid and you can use them to search the catalogs and pull up programme lists. Sometimes they find content where words don’t, especially if you don’t have a precise title. If you have the series pid you can find the subsidiary pages.
(The pid is the small string of letters and numbers found in the URL at the top of the page).

@JaneJeffer absolutely! I tried to make a nice positive post and they've just carried on arguing around it 😂

That thread is “outreach” from the ME topic.

It was so hot last night that I sat in the dark with the windows open and watched the Prodigy again until it had dropped to about 22C. Just as good as the first time and then I went to sleep so I’m reclassifying them as lullabies 😁

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 01/07/2025 09:17

I think the Austrian police, Interpol and CIA took charge of the Vienna gigs. No way on earth could they have gone ahead. As Taylor said, we are only mourning gigs, not lives.

SocksAndTheCity · 01/07/2025 10:28

I'm not sure why anybody on a Glastonbury thread would be interested in what Taylor Swift said about something that's nothing to do with Glastonbury (unless Vienna has moved to SW England and I missed it). But tbf I know nothing about her, so I don't really care what she says about anything.

Today I'm going to try and get through Nile Rodgers, Supergrass and Fatboy Slim if I can find them. I'm resisting the urge to rewatch sets I've already seen, but I'll definitely be giving Scissor Sisters and Prodigy another look when I do Smile

fruitandvegoverload · 01/07/2025 11:01

@SocksAndTheCity I'm resisting the rewatch urge too! I've rewatched Fat Dog, Four Tet, The Prodigy, English Teacher.

I watched Olivia Rodrigo yesterday and she was amazing. I don't love her music massively but what a confident, talented performer. Watched some Greentea Peng (have enjoyed watching her before at Glastonbury) and Ezra Collective before the urge to rewatch The Prodigy became too great.

I want to watch Myles Smith and some other stuff I can't remember. I know I keep on about iplayer but it's even more shit now the sets have gone from the front page - now you have to browse by genre. What a stupid idea, sometimes you don't know what genre you want or what a certain act is classed as! It would have made more sense to group by stage or day.

fruitandvegoverload · 01/07/2025 11:22

And Neil Young is still not on iPlayer?

borderlaise · 01/07/2025 11:30

I think he eventually agreed for it to be shown live at the time but not available on iplayer afterwards

Judging by the number of bootlegs of the full livestream being offered I suspect that as with the Stones in 2013 a legit version will be released sooner or later.

I recorded it from live as I’m the age where recording is still habit and because players are not always reliable. I’m not a big fan of Young but it was a decent set with a good band and well worth releasing - I can see fans getting bootlegs if it isn’t released commercially.

SocksAndTheCity · 01/07/2025 12:02

Now watching Busta Rhymes 😀

RayonSunrise · 01/07/2025 13:03

I’m determined to see The Prodigy’s Glasto set (will see them elsewhere later this summer, so it will be a sort of preview!), and a bit of The 1975 since so many people said they got stronger towards the end of their set.

Rodrigo I liked, and I appreciate that she appears to be working to introduce her influences to her audience as much as she’s playing to her fans’ parents who’ve had to come along! It’s a win-win. I was still surprised at how borderline rude the crowd reaction was to Robert Smith’s entrance though - my music-loving teens are so multi-generational in their listening habits I’d sort of assumed it was wider spread than it actually is. I actually heard some boos!

the80sweregreat · 01/07/2025 13:09

Poor Robert smith, he did look a bit uncomfortable coming out , but booing too :(
As far as I am aware , he hasn’t mouthed off to anyone or caused any upset !

tinyspiny · 01/07/2025 13:32

Weepixie · 01/07/2025 07:08

Ok, we’ve noticed you. But not in a good way.

I wasn’t asking to ‘be noticed’ and frankly don’t care what you think of me , it’s a social site and I’m as entitled to my opinion as everyone else .

Ha, old people don’t actually need to be problematic to offend a lot of young people - ageism is mainly rooted in (old) faces not fitting!

I’d like to think at least a few of them have found themselves humming “Friday, I’m in Love” after and been moved to look it up.

fruitandvegoverload · 01/07/2025 14:19

I wish they'd played Close To Me instead, I think that would have helped to win the crowd over.

redcord · 01/07/2025 14:30

I think the crowd LOVED it, didn't they? It was a stroke of genius to bring him on at Glastonbury - pleases the reviewers and gives all generations (including those of us who saw The Cure headline there in 1986 😉) a real feel-good vibe towards Rodrigo. Great move! The only downside was it made me think, if he'd been there all along, he could have played a set!

Yeah that wasn’t the issue, it was her approach to the whole thing. I don’t normally particularly care how an artist approaches their fans as I’m just there for the music but TS was just appalling from start to finish in how she handled it so that was me done with her. But yes wrong thread 😂. Suffice to say Olivia R seemed to have a great attitude and nice to have found a new artist to follow.

The Cure are announcing a tour soon! How amazing I shall be there!

Its not that many years since they were one of the Pyramid headliners (2019). I wonder if the mega tour will end at Glastonbury ’27. Its not so very long before their 50th anniversary but at that age you can’t take the available performing years for granted 😀

Countrylife2002 · 01/07/2025 16:20

I don’t think there’s a festival next year - but I think Smith has said he wants to end at their anniversary year of 2028 so maybe then!

We crossed - yes typo on my part, I meant to write 2027. I am now imagining all these old bands planning their tour schedule with as much attention to the availability of medical teams and zimmer frames as venues...

Countrylife2002 · 01/07/2025 16:32

😂

moto748e · 01/07/2025 17:28

Having grown up with Jagger/Richards and Neil Young, Smith is one of the kids as far as I'm concerned! 😀

Not being picky, honest, but The Cure headlined in 1990, and I know that because I was there but I missed them (don't ask 😬) and all these years later I'm still bitter about it!! (apparently they were AMAZING...)

HumbleWarrior · 01/07/2025 18:32

Oh gosh, sorry - just realised they also headlined in 86. That serves me right for letting my bitterness make me type without checking!

soupyspoon · 01/07/2025 21:04
