Or

Be totally crap and wonder why we have just spent the last 10hrs of our lives watching s6

I do think it rather lost momentum in the huuuuuuuuge hiatus between the last series and this one, due to the writers strikes.

DizzyPuss · 28/06/2025 06:17

Thanks for the new thread.

I have been enjoying se6, although I will be disappointed if the "rescue Hannah" plot has been lost to the more soap opera plot of "June, Luke and Nick love triangle". It would be such a shame, and a lost opportunity to go out in style...

viques · 28/06/2025 08:31

Declaring an interest. Hoping for a satisfactory denouement, though having read the last thread there are very mixed ideas of what this could be. I fear some people are going to be very disappointed. 😪

CruCru · 28/06/2025 08:48

Excellent. I am not sure if we will be watching this evening or tomorrow.

JewelleryCat · 28/06/2025 10:12

Thanks for the new thread 🙂

Breathmiller · 28/06/2025 10:25

stuck in under his eye

gingercat02 · 28/06/2025 10:48

I'm still in but only because I want to see how they finish it.
I have read both books, we are so far away from THT book now.
Hulu are making the Testaments so I'm quite interested to see if they line it up for that to be a sequel or if it's a stand alone series. (Hope that's not spoilery Blondes)

peanutbuttertoasty · 28/06/2025 11:10

Thanks for the new thread!

MightyGoldBear · 28/06/2025 11:12

I shall be eagerly awaiting for everyone to finish the latest episode.

Side note, how long has rose been pregnant? It seems like the longest pregnancy.

IcedPurple · 28/06/2025 11:56

Thanks for the new thread.

I agree that Rose seems to have had the gestation period of an elephant! Everything else happens overnight but Rose has been pregnant for about 100 years!

JewelleryCat · 28/06/2025 12:25

Regarding Rose, she walks with a stick but I thought anyone who was disabled in Gilead were got rid of. Obviously Rose is fertile but not perfect and I thought they wanted their wives perfect. I’m probably not explaining this very well but in the first season, I’m sure I remember that people who were disabled, they were got rid of because they weren’t useful to the regime

peanutbuttertoasty · 28/06/2025 12:28

She is a high commanders daughter so possible hypocrisy?

BIWI · 28/06/2025 14:35

Thanks for the new thread.

I have to say, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this last season, even though I do get the issues with plot/lack of Hannah etc. And I’m gutted that we’re going to miss the final episode because we’ll be on holiday. (Will obviously be able to catch it when we’re back, but I’m wary of stumbling across spoilers before we can.)

I wondered whether Rose’s injury is something she got during her birth or childhood (like breaking her leg or hip really badly). If she is otherwise healthy (and, it turns out, fertile) and her disability isn’t hereditary, I could see Gilead wanting her.

CruCru · 28/06/2025 15:31

It still irritates me that no one in Gilead wears glasses. The Commanders are old - presumably they need reading glasses sometimes?

Doesn’t Lawrence wear glasses?

CruCru · 28/06/2025 16:16

Ah, good spot! I’d forgotten about him

Soubriquet · 28/06/2025 16:22

Episode 9 is out on prime

Olivesforteatonighty · 28/06/2025 16:27

Thanks for the thread, heading for Prime…..

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/06/2025 17:01

Place marking having weakened and watched it already (sorry, I know, no spoilers from me!) all I feel obliged to say is it's cracking and I'll be back for all your comments.

Soubriquet · 28/06/2025 17:27

Said it on the other thread but I’ll say it here

Nice to see Janet (IYKYK) taking a break from being the robot

NoEffingWay · 28/06/2025 18:05

there have been a few characters with glasses, but I do remember Emily getting glasses when she got to Canada as they had been taken from her as a handmaid.

Olivesforteatonighty · 28/06/2025 20:22

I’ve watched it.

BBQBertha · 28/06/2025 20:37

It’s on C4 - watching now.
