Rachel has clearly never watched a slam in her life, if she didn't know about all gthe kerfuffle before (some) finals.

I hate TNT Grin

And now Fabio has snapped his racquet in half which was quite impressive actually Grin

Raahh · 10/06/2025 16:10

Getting some typical responses from Foggy and Moutet.

That racquet is RIP

it was a very satisfying sounding snap Jane.

Into a 3rd set. Still sparse crowds.

Lots to catch up on Grin I’ve had a day sorting out my teeth and hair!

Oh no how will we cope without Kyrgios’ insightful commentary (all about him!)?

Catherine Whittaker is still on the Tennis Podcast - I think she said she was going to be doing some commentary on the Tennis Channel over Wimbledon - she is funny and knows about tennis (not always a prerequisite apparently Hmm)

I like Gigi as well - wonder if the Beeb will still have Isa on? She should stick to the cricket

Raahh · 10/06/2025 16:54

Oh, I really hope Isa is sticking to cricket. She keeps disappearing in the second week anyway, because she does cricket stuff- so they ought to get someone who is around for the whole fortnight (imo).

But not Rachel. ABR.

Well done Corentin

Raahh · 10/06/2025 17:20

Bright colours must be the dress code at the Libema open- De Jong in very acid yellow- and Opelka in pink.

Bit behind the news.....only just read the Kyrgios story. I'm hopeful that if we all support each other, we'll somehow cope with this tragic loss GinGrin
Please don't mention AC before he even appears on our screens! Assume he'll pop up like the (highly coiffered) proverbial bad penny at Queen's (ATP) and Wimbledon Hmm

Raahh · 10/06/2025 17:50

Barbora taking her time to find her grass feet, but back in this match now.

I expect this match will go off soon anyway- repeats of HoG being of great importance.

I'm hoping you tennis experts can help me.

I have tickets for the ladies Wimbledon final.

Is it worth booking a table in one of the restaurants. (Would be 11am so ways for 1pm doubles start)? Or is it better to just get takeaway food and wander round.

I've done the whole afternoon tea on henman hill thing so don't want to do that again.

Raahh · 10/06/2025 17:55

I jinxed Barbora by turning over to watch.

Sorry Barbora.

Raahh · 10/06/2025 18:07

@GargoylesofBeelzebub I haven't been since 1994 Grin(well done on the finals tickets, by the way).

Hopefully someone with slightly more up to date knowledge will be able to help .

I’ve never been to any of the restaurants at Wimbledon - there are plenty of food kiosks around but mainly doing fast food type things - you can probably get sandwiches as well - depends what sort of experience you want (and how deep your pockets are Grin) - the last time I went the outside tables were quite busy so we ended up on Henman hill anyway

Fizzywinegum · 10/06/2025 19:02

Marin Cilic has just been on our local news Shock - he’s playing in the Ilkley tournament - he looked quite happy to be there! (It looked quite nice in the sunshine)

Harriet Dart is also there (boo!)

JaneJeffer · 10/06/2025 19:19

Well done Alex. I think Gael is worn out after Paris

JaneJeffer · 10/06/2025 19:20

“my favourite grown up” Grin

Raahh · 10/06/2025 19:22

Gael did look worn out- but he didn't give up til. It was a good match.
