Rachel has clearly never watched a slam in her life, if she didn't know about all gthe kerfuffle before (some) finals.

I hate TNT Grin

It won’t be the same without the line judges.

No- this clay season has shown me that the auto line calling is ok- but the line judges are needed.

My phone died! Well done Carlos - did feel sorry for Jannik - he did look gutted and the tray was a bit rubbish

I’ve just had to do a quick tea as DH was apparently dying of starvation Confused

JaneJeffer · 08/06/2025 20:57

We won’t be watching any TNT until next year Rachel

That's amazing really, Jane.
And it feels like yesterday Rafa was beating him in Madrid, on his 18th birthday.

I can’t stop thinking about how amazing the match was!

Fizzywinegum · 09/06/2025 09:53

It was amazing Jane - especially when it looked as if it could be a relatively easy win for Sinner in three sets - even at the very end I wasn’t sure who was going to win

I think it also showed how far ahead those two are compared to the rest of men’s tennis

Feel a bit lost today without RG - not sure if the women’s tournament at queens is on tv today but I might have a bit of a tennis rest today (need to get the house Wimbledon ready Grin)

Raahh · 09/06/2025 10:03

It was amazing- and yes, it did look like it was going to be 3 sets . Poor Jannik may find that a hard one to bounce back from.

They really are way ahead of the rest- and players like Stef and Sascha must be wondering if they have missed the boat.

Queen's is on BBC2 this afternoon(and probably iplayer) At least we will be spared annoying adverts Grin.

Stuttgart is on Sky. Possibly Den Bosch. Never thought I'd be happy to be back to Sky Grin

It was a brilliant match. It also made me excited for the future - I can see both of them winning lots more slams and maybe challenging some of the records set by Rafa, Roger and Djok.

JaneJeffer · 09/06/2025 10:06

Any chance Sky used the break to sort their sound out? Probably not!

JaneJeffer · 09/06/2025 10:07

Like Mac said before the match they need a couple more players up there with them to make things spicy

Raahh · 09/06/2025 10:14

Jane the '3rd wheel' discussion was interesting - I'm not sure at the moment who that is. Even players like Daniil or Sascha or Stef no longer push them enough.

Chessie it is not longer looking like the 20 + slam records are something that will be unattainable, is it? When you think of how often Rafa was sidelined with injury and missed slams - if Carlos and Jannik stay healthy, they could be smashing the records easily.

But staying injury free is the key, I think, more than who is around to challenge them.

I've got Stuttgart on in the background.

Always takes a day or 2 to get used to the colour of the grass, after the clay.

Heaven only knows what shade of green Nike thinks the court is.

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 09/06/2025 10:18

Yes, assuming few injuries then I can easily see both of them winning 20+ slams. Especially if it’s largely just those two challenging for them - Roger, Rafa and Djok had to share the slams between three of them (plus Andy and Stan) but as you say it’s not obvious that there’s anyone else at the moment to make up a new Big Three or Big Four.

Raahh · 09/06/2025 13:18

Queen's is back to red, after years of being blue. In my head it's still Stella Artois red , so this helps Grin.

Struff is doing well- nice weather in Stuttgart.

Well done Struff. He's not had a great year so far, so this might be a boost.

Our weather is atrocious. I sat down to watch Classic Emmerdale and now I’m watching Jordan and don’t want to get up but I have stuff all over the bedroom that I was in the middle of sorting. I was reading the thread about things disappearing and I have a wish list for the fairies to take care of!

Oh good no more Cinch purple. It looked way more classy when Fever Tree were the sponsors.

I remember googling what 'the Indian Maharadja' was last year - because it sounds like a takeaway, but it's a sports clothing brand Grin

I had to google the shamrock one in Stuttgart - it was butter Grin
