I prefer Disney + to netflix but I do like a lot of their imported programs from times gone by. I have watched Criminal Minds, Greys Anatomy, Glee and now on to Castle. There are also a few good movies.

I have a free for three months trial at the moment via Vodafone. I don’t think I’ll keep it going. I don’t think there is enough new stuff to keep my attention. I had a gap of two years between free Apple TV trials and that was great as they’d made new series of many of the things I’d watched first time around. I’ll come back to Disney in a year or two binge the decent stuff or catch up on old favourites.

I have just realised thanks to this thread that I'm paying for the premium package for Disney which is ridiculous! So I've just gone and changed to the £4.99 one.
Took me about two minutes as well, I could have done that ages ago 🤦‍♀️

Have u done same 4 Netflix?

And we’ve got multiple streaming for that price too.

What package is this please?
Like others we dip in and out of various individual subs, but I am not aware of how to bundle, cheers

EleanorReally · 27/04/2025 11:15

planning to watch A real Pain, a film, and then cancel disney plus again,

A thousand blows is on there -anyone watched that? I personally get it free with my club Lloyds account but even so it’s only a fiver if I just wanted standard package.

Well I got it on my Apple IPad, then DS used my log in details when he signed into Disney + and just added himself as another user. No extra cost, so we can both watch different things on it at the same time.

I’m going to watch this soon, love Stephen Graham, and the actor who plays Micheal in This City is Ours. Never seen anything with SG in that has been less than amazing.

Umanresources · 01/05/2025 15:04

DD and I are watching Castle and I am re-living my youth and watching Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In. That’s not particularly aged well, but I found some parts really funny and silly. I’m watching it for the guest stars, The Monkees and Davy Jones particularly. They had some really big names like John Wayne, Ronald Reagan and Sammy David Junior. My guilty pleasure has been watching very old Popeye cartoons. I’m obviously in my second childhood!

Ponderingwindow · 01/05/2025 15:11

Even if you have never watched a Star Wars movie, Andor is a brilliant TV show on its own. It is an exploration of both how a fascist government operates and the difficult choices people must make to resist tyranny. Even my teenager who hates Star Wars loves it.

Radiatorvalves · 01/05/2025 15:15

A Real Pain is fab. As is Rivals. I got Disney for rivals and realized I’d not watched it for 3 months… cancelled now after squeezing in Dying for Sex. If something good comes on I might reactivate.

mogtheexcellent · 01/05/2025 15:15

Only murders
Will Trent
High Potential
Paradise

I have been watching the old (60s/70s/80s) kids Disney films with DD10, Escape to Witch Mountain, Parent Trap etc.

Also, has anyone mentioned Tracker yet? I love Justin Hartley it.

BobnLen · 01/05/2025 17:14

The Fosters and Its spin off, Good Trouble are both good

Sundappledlawn · 01/05/2025 19:40

I’m love, love, loving Andor!
Other things I’ve really liked are Shogun and The Bear. There are some great films on there too eg A Real Pain (not to mention the Disney and Pixar classics) and I also enjoyed Shardlake, Rivals and A Thousand Blows - so I think it’s worth the subscription.

tennissquare · 02/05/2025 22:54

Anyone started Suspect The shooting of Jean Charles de menezes?
It's an amazing cast and gripping script but whilst it was almost 20 years ago it just seems too recent and too sad to dramatise.

Have u done same 4 Netflix?

I've got the basic one with ads included in my sky package.

EleanorReally · 03/05/2025 06:12

i still havent cancelled,
it ends 14th May
i am worried if i cancel now it wont allow me to watch, although it promises to allow it until end of subscription

thanks to this thread i have now changed it to £4.99
i hope it works, as i have a fire stick and am not convinced

It does let you watch until your subscription ends, I have to cancel mine and restart it each time as I use Tesco Clubcard vouchers. I buy the 3 months then cancel immediately so I don't forget

sandgreen · 27/04/2025 08:23

I watched Lost on there then realised it was also on Netflix so there is some crossover with older bought-in studio shows like that, bonus for me being no ads on Disney. If it wasn’t for DCs I probably wouldn’t have time to make the most of it. There’s a sitcom on there called Abbot Elementary which is good, the Pixar films and Star Wars content is always good to have to hand.

I watched Lost but used Disney as we go away a lot and Netflix didn't have a download option, I guess Netflix didn't have the full rights to it. I buy the ad free Disney on Clubcard as it also has downloading included
