I’m also considering cancelling it

paradise is good

Snarf23 · 27/04/2025 07:58

I dip in and out of it. I like watching the star wars stuff and the odd new series and films too but i don’t feel it’s worth subscribing all the time as not much is added.

Thatroomismine · 27/04/2025 08:04

We have it through my Lloyds current account before that we'd had a free 3 months with Tesco. We're all adults/teenagers so all watch similar stuff it seems to have had its day in our house. They occasionally watch something but would not blink if it was gone. If I payed for it I wouldn't keep it.

doodahdayy · 27/04/2025 08:07

Great for kids stuff so I keep it. Would definitely cancel in an adult only household or with older children though.

sandgreen · 27/04/2025 08:23

I watched Lost on there then realised it was also on Netflix so there is some crossover with older bought-in studio shows like that, bonus for me being no ads on Disney. If it wasn’t for DCs I probably wouldn’t have time to make the most of it. There’s a sitcom on there called Abbot Elementary which is good, the Pixar films and Star Wars content is always good to have to hand.

Hdjdb42 · 27/04/2025 08:35

When I finish Grays anatomy, I'm getting rid of Disney plus. There's nothing good on there that's not already on Netflix.

Lascivious · 27/04/2025 08:39

I get it free through my bank. I don’t think I’d bother otherwise. I have just watched ‘Good American Family’, but I think it’s the only thing I’ve ever watched via Disney+

Wittow · 27/04/2025 08:39

It's only a fiver a month so it's not something I stress about.

Scandal is worth a watch if you've not seen it!

EleanorReally · 27/04/2025 08:40

it definitely costs me more than a fiver a month. no idea why

AFrolicOfMyOwn · 27/04/2025 08:47

A couple of years ago I took a deep chronological dive into the MCU via Disney (reasons) - so it was worth it for that. And there were a few other things - The Bear, of course …

But sometime last year I realised I hadn’t watched anything on it for months - so I unsubscribed. Don’t miss it at all at the moment.

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 27/04/2025 08:55

I watch Disney plus a fair bit but I don’t have Netflix so that might be why.

Programmes I have enjoyed:
only murderers in the building
high potential (but silly but fun)
Will Trent
Abbott Elementary
Doctor Odessy (sorry can’t remember the spelling) it is truly dreadfully cheesy and unrealistic but so silly I’m enjoying it.
Paradise

Chasingsquirrels · 27/04/2025 08:57

I've got 2 free month from a Tesco promotion, definitely won't be continuing when it ends.

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 27/04/2025 09:01

Greys Anatomy /Station 19/ Private Practice
911
The Bear
Will Trent
High Potential
Only Murders in the Building
Devious Maids

Kids use it for all the kids stuff too. They are working their way through The Simpsons from the beginning currently.

Make sure you have the subscription with “ads” (which in reality isn’t too bad) and it should come in at £4.99pm.

EleanorReally · 27/04/2025 09:03

i think i pay £8.99
for more than one streaming

OP posts:
Middlemarch123 · 27/04/2025 09:24

I pay £4.99 and think it’s worth it, the ads aren’t too intrusive. Got it for Rivals, and watch loads on it. Some good true crime stuff. Cheaper than Netflix, which is better but expensive.

Middlemarch123 · 27/04/2025 09:25

And we’ve got multiple streaming for that price too.

howcanitbetrue · 27/04/2025 09:28

We are on 4.99 / month for multi users. Ads are okay and not too invasive and worth the saving.

howcanitbetrue · 27/04/2025 09:29

I hate the user interface though !

AFrolicOfMyOwn · 27/04/2025 09:46

So … I’ve done it - I’ve cancelled … Netflix.

I’m still signed up to Amazon Prime, which won’t change unless / until I cancel Amazon; Now, which I often watch; Apple TV - hmm …

This is all lockdown hangover; until the pandemic I didn’t even have a TV licence and only had Amazon Prime by default. But I’ve started going to the cinema again, and it’s almost summer, and (shamefully) I’ve been reading the same book since January because I’ve lost the habit …

I feel refreshed! (I still have access to Netflix until May 9th - but invariably I find nothing I want to watch there, so 🤷‍♀️)

EleanorReally · 27/04/2025 09:47

well don @AFrolicOfMyOwn
i can mostly find things when i dont have them available!

OP posts:
Perkuppaige · 27/04/2025 09:51

I dip in and out with them all - currently just finished Netflix and now subscribed to Prime and Disney - cheapest membership as the adds don’t bother me. I subscribe to Apple rarely as only liked Severance and Silo and it’s more costly.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 27/04/2025 10:48

I like it for modern family

Its one of those shows which I get a craving for at times

I'm also rewatching desperate housewives, which is fantastic

Tourist29 · 27/04/2025 10:55

I got 3 months with Tesco and am watching Rivals for the 2nd time - that birdie dance routine is sublime. Won’t continue though as we have Sky and too much choice already.

RightOnTheEdge · 27/04/2025 10:57

I have just realised thanks to this thread that I'm paying for the premium package for Disney which is ridiculous! So I've just gone and changed to the £4.99 one.
Took me about two minutes as well, I could have done that ages ago 🤦‍♀️
