I’ve been wondering about this too. Maybe he’s had bad news or maybe it’s all just feeling too much for him with his dad’s illness in the mix too, although the sudden freeze is really unfair on Jamie. It feels like he’s had a personality transplant overnight, for whatever reason.

I wonder if Dave has a low set drive as he said but obviously for this to be aired publicly is embarrassing for him so he pretends he's not at the same stage as Jamie. Also I think he didn't like what he saw when she was yelling at Carina & Rhi, her true colours were on show & I think he's checked out.

I posted this on the last thread but so near the end, I’m posting it again.
Veronica seems to have expertly and successfully created her own narrative - that she initially went to see Lauren to ask about Elliot AFTER she’d been having problems with him. But from what I recall, she went to see Lauren first, believed Lauren’s assessment of Elliot, and then started challenging him on every single thing he said and did. She actually created the problems and is a major gaslighter. Also… She started to whole program saying she is a person who takes no bs… then set out to give him a hard time, NOT based on how he was being with her… but based on what Lauren had told her! I think Veronica is the very worst person in this, really toxic.
Lauren’s sister in the marriage ceremony was so very very unhinged and unpleasant, it makes sense that Lauren has come from somewhere deeply unpleasant to make her the rude and snooty person she is.

Possibly... Jamie is a lot. Whatever it is, though, I do wish he’d be more open with her about it, assuming there isn’t a ton of stuff behind the scenes that we’re not seeing.

this season of MAFS Aus is full of absolute knobheads - but it is TV gold. I like Jaimie, she is honest, self aware - a bit off the wall sometimes, but pretty decent compared to most others. I like Rhi and Jeff, dislike Veronica intensely and now I like Eliot.

I also liked Billy. But most of them are awful.

I also liked Billy. I think he should have been matched with Awhina as I think he would have been OK with stepping into the stepdad role which Adrian is clearly never going to do.

I think Awhina needs a highly sexual guy - and from what Billy said, its not his way. Well, hes a slow burn, needs connection and feelings first... but the step dad side, yeah absolutely could see him in that role.

Adrian was in it for a shag, nothing more, nothing less. He had no intention of finding lasting love.

Adrian just wanted his 15 minutes of fame with a free holiday. And some sex chucked in. That’s it. He’s hollow , nothing else to him.

Ok so I have one episode to watch before my catch up is complete. Observations so far after couple swap.

Ryan- been watching too much Andrew Tate. It was so clear with how he was with Beth and then his responses to Jacqui re looking after his children.

Right dinner party watched. Well, my thoughts are the same. Does anyone else reckon Dave like V but when she said no at the party, he then decided he wants to make it work with Jaime? Twat. He has had a a personality change.

I was a bit disappointed with Jeff stirring re Jacqui after being so kind to her at the swap.

I dunno...You'd think someone who was fairly astute - as Big Dave seemed to be - would see V for the nasty piece of work she is.... but there was lots of giggling and flirting on their swap, so maybe?

Thing is, when J was getting all gobby at the retreat that was his time to say look I don’t really like dealing with things this way, it makes me uncomfortable. He’s an adult. I think she would have listened. My DH is calm and balances me . He’s there to talk me down.

He made that comment about 'I said we'd burn it to the ground if we had to' when talking to Jaime to the side when it was all kicking off. He wasn't completely passive whilst she yelled and cried. But maybe that was him trying his damndest to be a 'good husband'

Does anyone understand why Verruca. hates Eliot so much? I mean, it's clear she despises him and yes, she might have initially been put off by The Stepford Knife, but Lauren's true colours were quickly revealed so shouldn't carry that much weight...?

She might fancy Dave more, but Eliot is a good looking bloke and has been nothing but reasonable and patient with her - why so much vitriol? I genuinely don't get it.

Yeah and he was nice to Rhi and she didn’t come back saying anything negative. She’s quite crazy when she feels anything negative is said. She stands, she points and is so ott. He was dead right when he said she sounds like she’s reading lines. Maybe she’s trying to get a job!

No i really don't think this. If anything I think Verucca was hurt more after the dinner party. She was the one with mentionitis, she lurked around Dave at the pre dinner drinks... I also thought he said no before she did and her face looked a bit scorned before she agreed.

I just watched it back. Adrian and Jamie asked is V more his type. V just said "oh my God what are you talking about" and then Dave said "no no" and V looked hurt.

V was definitely disappointed with his response. I think Dave knows V is crazy, Jamie said to Adrian that she is team Elliot, no doubt Jamie has shared V's treatments towards Elliot with Dave.

Yeah I took that to mean she’s not interested. Or at least he did .

Maybe clever editing but you didn’t see a shot of V for the main bulk of that table debate ….. until Adrian’s comment. I reckon something has gone on. Dave was quite suggestive with V at the swap. Giggling in bed? Hmmmm. It was different to how the others were.

I've never liked Jaimie... Too gobby; making herself the great protector for people who don't need protecting. She's like a child.. im your friend so you have to be mine... Too controlling,.. her voice takes over... Gives me a major ick. I like Dave... He clearly wants to get away from Jamie and I get that... I would as well..

Poor Clint... I don't get why he stuck with Lauren... Who is a complete nutjob... Ditto for Jacqui... I don't understand why she thinks she's so hot... Emotionally, she's stuck at the toddler stage - must be hard for anyone to meet her need for constant self gratification and that brick she is paired with will never be able to meet her need because he's stuck in the 20th century...

So I think Dave and V are definitely Upto something

I thought Carina dressing the way she did for the last dinner party was like she was donning armour after feeling insecure over the things that came up in the swap. She had a ‘dressing to kill’ vibe about her. The sleeves on that dress were a big mistake though, she looked like she had wings, and I’m amazed no one stepped on her trailing skirt!

I think Corina is a total snake, she pretends she is a bit stupid to get away with things.
She is not a good friend at all.

I don’t like her or Paul either, for different reasons. He is a complete liar. He lied about his letter and then when the person filming said ‘you lied earlier’ he started turning in the charm with her! You could see his sneaky face trying to win her over.

He must be a bit dim too as it is all on film.
