Celebrity Big Brother (ITV1) and Late & Live (ITV2) - Thread 3 - Please expect spoilers.

So, Michael Fabricant was the first to be evicted, with Jack(🙄) and Mickey being saved by the public.

Mickey Rourke then left on Saturday night. Allegedly he said another homophobic slur, this time to Chris, and left/was asked to leave.

(Daley and Chris were immune from last weeks nominations, and Mickey had been put up by Jojo as a killer nom.)

Jojo and Chris are seemingly besties

Trisha is annoying just about everyone (keep an eye out for her chats with Danny)

Mickey hated Patsy's cooking and wasn't afraid to tell her at any given opportunity, reducing her to tears

Mickey seemingly liked Danny's cooking, however, and was happy for Danny to do his make up.

Ella loves being beautiful and having a colonic. I don't think that anyone on earth wants to see a showmance between her and Chris, but do correct me if I'm wrong

Chesney Hawkes reckons he had a 'drugs hell' but no one believes him

Angelica has retained a youthful glow, no further commentary necessary (thank you trisha)

So this thread is for CBB and L&L commentary, as well as lovely discussions about seasons past and gossip about the celebs 🙌

please expect spoilers as it was just too hard to avoid them

The tie you up comment was in reference to the movie Mickey was in of which they’d all be discussing moments earlier and was then taken out of context during editing. Danny has said some pretty vile things too including converting someone’s sexuality

Edited

So they edited it to make him look like he said it in the middle of the conversation about her sexuality and after the “After 4 days you won’t be gay” comment, when this wasn’t the case? Because it actually shows him saying those words right after he told her she wasn’t gonna be gay anymore and her replying “that won’t happen”

Which movie were they discussing that editing had changed? And how do you know this?

What did Danny say about converting people’s sexuality? The only comment I heard is about the mermaid showing off her clams but it wasn’t smutty or creepy

Please don't tell me it was that wonderfully romantic film 9 1/2 Weeks..

Would Mickey be lolling in a nice hotel room or frog marched straight to the airport after he was ejected. I was wondering (yes ok he's gone from the house so we should perhaps forget him) if Jeremy Vine's special guest in the morning might be non other than the old cowboy himself . Or perhaps the Loose Women could be wriggling in their seats as they fight over who sits next to him.

❤️

He was papped in London today (well it’s 1am so technically yesterday) so still in the UK - or was in the afternoon anyway

The "oh you're a Tory, yuck!" trope is so overdone on BB!

Really liking Jojo, very wise and great energy. Before this weird Chris thing..

Wow, you seem a really angry person — it’s just a TV show no need to get so worked up. For context, Mickey was in a movie where he ties up a woman, which they had just been discussing moments before his comment. It was clearly a reference to that. Personally, I didn’t find it that offensive because I understood the context — while the reference itself is unpleasant, I choose not to take offence at everything. Also, Danny made a few sexual comments tonight too.

Pinepeak2434 · 14/04/2025 01:06

I wonder if Mickey will still get paid? BB seem to be making a habit of ejection their highest paid housemates

Not angry at all just want clarity on your claim.

Whether you found it offensive or not is entirely irrelevant. It was said to JoJo after commenting that he’d convert her to be straight. If you wanna defend creepy scumbags you do you.

Again I didn’t hear any sexual comments from Danny, but will look out for them. It does land differently when you’re a gay man making puns vs a straight man who continually makes pervy remarks

SordidSplendour · 14/04/2025 01:10

Tbf gay men get away with outrageously inappropriate things that straight men and women definitely don't (I didn't actually see any Danny comments though , but the whole episode was a bit like a mushroom trip)

Had Jojo been in this discussion? I haven't watched that bit yet. It's not a movie many would have seen.
Even if it was a joking reference to the movie, corrective rape jokes are still not on. 'Turn you straight' jokes in general are not good at all.

As someone w experience of the lesbian community today (tho I'm bi myself) men's entitlement to women who are categorically not into them is still v much a thing, unfortunately. Several I know have had male friends who know they are lesbian push the boundaries or even become outright sexually aggressive. Not to mention aggression from strangers on nights out.
plus others who've had bi women on apps only later mention they have a boyfriend who wants to join, or even predatorily invite without saying. It is almost impossible to have lesbian chat forums online as they have to include trans women, and are plagued by (non trans) male catfishers. Bars admit men, (not only trans women, that's another problem ofc...) It's worse in US too, esp w the recent populist upswing.

I say all this bc, while I understand Gen X etc people defending MR as they feel he didn't mean any harm etc (perhaps not), may have brain damage (I believe this myself), this isn't just MR & Jojo. It's a show watched by millions, and if men get the message from this that corrective rape jokes are fine, that's bad in the current climate for lesbians. Someone on the first thread compared the unfairness of trans cancel culture to punishing Mickey for what he said. Ofc missing the point that attitudes like MR's are another aspect of the problems lesbians face, just as trans is.
He was only given a warning, not cancelled for the joke, and it is very important that there are clear boundaries about what's acceptable on TV. There were pretty racist shows on not so long ago. If stuff is on TV, it implies it' acceptable. If it feeds attitudes that lead to violence, which corrective rape jokes are the thin end of the wedge for, that's totally unacceptable.

It was BIZARRE! I actually double checked other threads/sites as I wondered was I losing it but it genuinely was edited very strangely and left lots of people confused

AliasGrace47 · 14/04/2025 01:26

As to MR's motive, he is certainly an enigma... He said earlier he knew how to act w different people, acted better w the men (well until Chris debacle) but I wouldn't be surprised if the boxing had affected his mind. Plus trauma. Why did he do it in the first place?
. I can't see why people who are fans want him to stay on..after these new episodes it looks increasingly likely he is not fully in possession of his faculties... and then how is it ethical for a traumatised, possibly brain damaged man accused of abuse previously to go on this kind of show? Money is all he really had to gain. It would've been nice if he's been redeemed but not really an ideal environment.. Hopefully he has friends looking out for him.

He definitely only did it for money, he mentioned having to borrow half a million during the actor strikes.
I am such a lover of BB/CBB I don't want it to get sanitized to oblivion but I think having him in was a tad unethical

Then jumping over to L&L to find Will in a bikini and mermaid tail was like having a cheese dream.

Then him and Jenrey in the hot tub talking about the housemates who could surely hear them!? Mental!
Ali and Lauren two wildly different entities, just madness

AliasGrace47 · 14/04/2025 01:42

True. All conversion jokes are horrible. But although this argument has been v badly overused (eg. Saying white people can never face systemic racism no matter what) there are very real and appreciable differences between certain things.

There is not AFAIK a huge number of cases of gay men aggressively making advances on straight men after being turned down, impersonating women on dating apps, raping them to turn them gay. Maybe I'm wrong, certainly some gay men do have a thing for straight men, but generally I think it stays as fantasy? Especially as even bad ones would probs be intimidated by the thought of being injured in a fight.

Plus Jojo is 21, MR in his 70s. Did Danny make his joke to a 21yo, or someone of a similar age?

LoopyLoo1991 · 14/04/2025 04:01

I was thirteen at the time and thought it both odd and creepy.
Due to amount of nudity that series, my foster mum didn't want me to watch it - but then Kinga made her laugh so hard it was all fine. A very memorable series that one.

LoopyLoo1991 · 14/04/2025 04:09

JandamiHash · 14/04/2025 00:02

He was very creepy. The night “Ant-Knee” got REALLY drunk he got asked to stop touching him by BB. He kept slapping his face and trying to spoon him IIRC. I also remember someone telling Craig he looked like Myra Hindley when he wore a wig for a task and he completely lost it 🤣

I was about thirteen at the time and thought it was odd and a bit creepy even at that age
My foster mum didn't want me to see that series because of all the nudity and shagging in the pool - but then Kinga made her laugh a lot and it was okay!

AhBiscuits · 14/04/2025 08:26

Ella definitely has her nose out of joint that Chris isn't going after her.

I really like Jojo and don't get the hate. Shes intelligent, lively and fun. She jumped up to pack up MR's stuff because it was driving her mad being spread around her space and doesn't like anyone touching her bed.

Chris was just in character and playing the game and MR was oblivious to that so reacted as if he was genuinely looking to start something. MR's comment to Ella was absolutely disgusting. I think it's really common to shrug something off at the time when you're shocked and taken aback and then be upset later when you have time to process what happened.

BB couldn't let him stay in the house, he was an absolute liability and it was a matter of time before he said or did something worse.

CellophaneFlower · 14/04/2025 09:39

I've only just caught up on the show, not caught up on this thread yet though.

I actually think it was ridiculous Mickey got thrown out for that. Chris was just playing his character imo, and yes, Mickey lost his head stupidly, but it was very quickly put out and he was very apologetic.

The Ella thing- pathetic. She gives it out but she can't take it. She walked straight into that house making innuendos to Chris, something about "oh whilst you're down there" when he was getting something out the cupboard. Such double standards. I appreciate Mickey is older but that was just a cheeky throw away comment he made to her and she happily trotted off alone with him afterwards. I've no doubt she thought playing the victim would see Chris running to comfort her as he did JoJo. God, imagine walking around thinking no man is immune to your charms 🙄 She expected Chris to be all over her and it would make Dan Edgar jealous and now she just looks like a twat that's lost out to a lesbian 🙈

Chris definitely fancies JoJo and probably sees her as a challenge, as she's definitely not shutting him down 🤮

Really not liking Patsy at all.

TeaRoseTallulah · 14/04/2025 09:46

I don't think Ella is pissed off Chris doesn't fancy her, she's just a bit perplexed at the relationship he has with JoJo. It IS a bit odd that he and Ella aren't more chatty considering all the mutual friends they must have.

Just remembered something else from last night, Trisha getting bossy and shutting Chris down when he was explaining to Mickey he was only joking during the task. She does that a lot. She needs to MHOB!!

I take it you've never watched TOWIE? She would definitely go for Chris and it most definitely would surprise her and piss her off that he's not into her!

Giantjoelguesser · 14/04/2025 09:56

Ella is definitely upset that there's no showmance with Chris. She even spoke about it in last nights show.
Chris is only interested in people that he thinks will raise his profile. Ella definitely wouldnt/couldn't do that.
I don't watch towie but I did watch the love island Chris was on. He likes a bromance and formed one with Kem but I don't recall either of them tickling each other's backs.
He is 11 years older than Jojo, they are from completely different generations.
