😮..I have come across it by accident.

Last year it was was well advertised.
The TARDIS flying on the BBC screen at every opportunity and so.

I do record a lot of my programmes so maybe I missed it ?

But I didn't last year 🤔.

And I really thought they said it was going to be May for the new series ?

Have I been on another planet ? 😂😂😂 !!

Disappointed with it all. There's only been one episode I liked so far. Most of them have been schmaltzy

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 17/05/2025 20:00

Well I loved that!
rylan
graham
and kalinda! I’ve been watching the good wife and recognised her straight away.

ladymalfoy45 · 17/05/2025 20:01

To be honest, I just want all this mavity wank over with.
It'll turn out since The Doctor and Donna met Sir Isaac Newton we've been watching a parallel or bi-arallel universe.
I think it's being written for the vociferous fanz now rather than the wider audience it hoped to attract.

Gunnersforthecup · 17/05/2025 20:03

I liked that! I just watched it for the second time. What good sports Rylan and Graham Norton are.

Yay I’m not alone!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 17/05/2025 20:05

Can we talk about it? Without spoilering?

Ellmau · 17/05/2025 20:06

The science was completely rubbish, even by Dr Who standards. It made the moon being an egg look plausible.

And it was equally ridiculous having the Interstellar Song Contest as poor Earth's only heritage.

But I liked Belinda and the Doctor; I liked all the guest stars; and we got some movement on the arc. So Mrs F is the Rani bent on revenge, and now there are two of them.

SheilaFentiman · 17/05/2025 20:06

Ah good, the broadcast time has passed.

I am sure it has because RTD is such a fan boy, but has the time Lord/ dual brainstem thing come up before?

Newgirls · 17/05/2025 20:08

Loved that episode - and what a wonderful singer

Yes. I loved Mrs floods entrance. She looked fab.

Edited

I don’t know. I can’t remember from if it came up from Matt smith onwards. It’ll be a niche nod I guess.

Oh God - I hate myself …

I loved that episode! (And to think I was considering boycotting it.)

This is long, rather poorly edited but thoughtful and comprehensive:

Welcome back! Glad you liked it too.

Bailiwitch · 17/05/2025 20:39

(Oh I’ve been watching the rest! Was just this episode I had considered skipping.)

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 17/05/2025 20:44

Good decision to not skip.
is the May 24th ep at the pictures?

SheilaFentiman · 17/05/2025 20:49

No, the cinema finale is on 31st May but it will be a double bill with a repeat episode on 24th May

That was an interesting review.

Much mention was made of how intentional it was that the episode was broadcast before the actual Eurovision, with Ncuti presenting the UK results. Which he now isn't. I wonder if we will find out why?

MrsCarson · 17/05/2025 21:31

Well I did enjoy tonights and haven't enjoyed it for a while. Rylan was funny, Graham says we have one week left lets hope he's wrong 😱Dd says she's do her end of year exam just incase he is wrong. 😁

LostMySocks · 17/05/2025 21:34

Caught the end just before Eurovision. I didn't realise the Doctor was the Doctor. He seemed to lack any statement clothing. I just thought they were both assistants. I'm obviously old and boring as I've not seen/taken in any press coverage about him.

InMySpareTime · 17/05/2025 22:32

The episode started strong and ended strong but that bit in the middle felt rushed, like it was cut back hard. One second everyone is frozen in space, the next Rylan gets tractor beamed into a cryo pod using technology that was invented for that moment, then suddenly the guest pods can be reworked into cryo pods and groups of people can be revived in them, and everyone is fine and ready to party again.
except the Rani who is so damaged she has to bigenerate.

Newgirls · 17/05/2025 22:55

I’m glad they didn’t get bogged down in the tech how they rescued everyone - better to get to the song

ghostyslovesheets · 18/05/2025 00:13

24/5/2025 - my 55th birthday- thanks for blowing up earth!

TheNightingalesStarling · 19/05/2025 08:32

Thank goodness Mrs Flood is an actual plot point not just a wierd "coincidence" that didn't mean anything

HarryVanderspeigle · 19/05/2025 09:06

We knew Mrs Flood must be a baddie when she didn't give Ruby's nan a cup of tea. Really not sure they can write anything more evil than that.
