😮..I have come across it by accident.

Last year it was was well advertised.
The TARDIS flying on the BBC screen at every opportunity and so.

I do record a lot of my programmes so maybe I missed it ?

But I didn't last year 🤔.

And I really thought they said it was going to be May for the new series ?

Have I been on another planet ? 😂😂😂 !!

No idea on Mrs Flood! It’s a bit too similar to the Susan Triad appearances for my liking, but we will see!

SheilaFentiman · 04/05/2025 08:43

Thanks for sharing the blog, @Bailiwitch

I have a feeling Conrad saying "I reject your reality" will be significant

Samcro · 04/05/2025 08:50

didn't like the episode. its Dr Who. I want the doctor to be in it.
Ruby was just annoying.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 04/05/2025 09:17

I felt totally cheated. An episode without Dr Who except on the periphery. It could have worked if it had been a different person rather than Ruby. I don't think that actress is experienced enough to carry a full episode although she had moments. After the joy of last week, back to depression

OccasionalHope · 04/05/2025 09:55

I was quite liking Conrad until he revealed himself :(

I did think Ruby was a bit stupid going on a podcast and telling random people everything.

Governor = Master???

Bailiwitch · 04/05/2025 09:57

73 Yards was by far my favourite episode of the last season, even though I adore NG as the Doctor. It’s the only one I still find myself thinking about, unprompted - and I definitely feel Millie Gibson did as well with the role there as the writing allowed. So I didn’t object to the Doctor-free concept.

Lucky Day felt too much of a patchwork quilt to be wholly successful.

Newgirls · 04/05/2025 10:40

The Conrad actor was excellent

I think Ruby is fine - speaks to the younger audiences?

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 04/05/2025 11:56

I warmed to Ruby straightaway. And Belinda tbf.

The story has more time to develop in doctor lite episodes I think.

I don’t mind the Susan triad similarities

Newgirls · 04/05/2025 12:06

It’s cool to have an older woman as this interesting presence

Yes I’m the same with 73 Yards - I’ve rewatched it a few times.

Enjoying this season a lot more - feels a bit more ominous and dark - love me a bit of KLS as well.

Had to watch the last season on the low down as Ruby was DDs then boyfriend’s ex 😂

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 04/05/2025 15:15

Nice link to dr who!

There’s been doctor lite episodes in several seasons now - Blink, Turn Left, Flatline. And 73 Yards, of course. I think it stands out more in the short seasons.

I know but Blink was superb with Carey Mulligan and a great storyline too. I just don't think Millie is in the same league. The same with Turn Left. Catharine Tate is a fabulous actor. They both had the gravitas to carry the episode. Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy! 😂

Hopefully the reveal pays off rather then this huge build up and falls flat at the end. Like the whole build up with Ruby and her mum and whatever else.

Episode was okay. Did make me realise don't really miss Ruby much. Think more to do with the writing and all

I thought this episode was best written so far but to have a doctor lite episode in such a short season seems such a waste of Ncuti. Even more annoying was to have his prescious few minutes on screen spent giving the Russell Lecture just in case we viewers were all too thick to get the message from the episode itself.

Honestly its like a designer who can create a perfect, simple Chanel suit, which screams quality and tells its own story but which has to be “reinforced” by a big ghastly cabbage flower on the jacket just in case we miss it.

SheilaFentiman · 06/05/2025 16:45

Fair comment @C8H10N4O2 - also a bit unfair on Belinda for Ruby to get the companion heavy episode!

C8H10N4O2 · 06/05/2025 18:56

@SheilaFentiman Agree its a shame Belinda wasn’t in it more. I like Ruby (a minority view I know) but I do like Belinda a great deal.

If the Mrs Flood reveal isn’t mega then it will fall completely flat. I quite like the idea that its Susan but that wouldn’t really add much storyline unless it was to bring a new regular Time Lord into the mix. Another iteration of the Master would be disappointing after the build up. I have no idea what or who she will be though, I won’t be laying bets.

NormalAuntFanny · 07/05/2025 12:40

I was hoping Mrs flood wouldn't be a baddie at least but seems it's not to be.

Presumably she's destroyed the earth on the 25th of whatever month it was.

InMySpareTime · 07/05/2025 13:32

I think it’s the 25th of May. Presumably this is what happens if you forget your wonderful towel on the Glorious Twenty-Fifth of May.

Maybe Mrs Flood is actually Mrs Frood :)

Shame the lilac and hard boiled egg aren't enough protection this time.

Bailiwitch · 10/05/2025 09:58

No one’s seen it yet?

(Just retrieving the thread from half a mile down my TIOs.)

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 10/05/2025 10:56

I’ll be watching on schedule tv.

Dandeliontea123 · 10/05/2025 12:15

I’m just starting to catch up with it on iPlayer. I’m enjoying the dynamic between the Doctor and his new companion who seems less than overawed by having to go on adventures in the Tardis!
