Well that all devolved very swiftly into a chaotic cesspit of playground codependency!

So it seems Eliott has had a bit of a redemption curve, I'm not sure how deep that really goes and I'm sure Lauren's sourness is partially due to his ongoing presence. She was lured back in without that information which was pretty mean. I do think her and Clint get on platonically and so what, they won't be the first to
not have a romantic spark, or even a one way romantic spark.

I think Carina has been pretty shaken by the hole in the door incident and is wanting her and Paul to be cut some slack/given some grace as a couple to ride out the storm. Might be why she is defending Lauren not wishing to be questioned/advised and backing off from Jamie.

Jamie, oh Jamie, this year's popular Mafs poster girl, so sharp, so funny, so giving of the excellent soundbite...
But I'm drained by her high levels of Greek drama, in both volume and scale, alongside expecting the other wives to be her obedient Greek chorus.
I fear she is placing her relationship at risk and that would be a very sad outcome. I hope they make it, along with Jeff and Rhi.

How many more weeks left?!

I loved Jamie but I’ve gone right off her now. Watching the dinner party and it’s basically stupid people shouting at each other, unable to articulate themselves adequately or apply any logic to anything.

Maddening.

Hard disagree. Jamie showed poor self regulation in her approach and screechy escalation, and people can agree or disagree on the merits of 'demanding an apology' but at no time did she not 'make sense'. She knows her bar and she knows why she is angry (she said she was hurt and slighted) and she didn't waiver. She shouldn't have told people to shut up and she should have listened to Carina, but whether you agree with her or not, I felt she articulated herself super-clearly and was consistent.

I understand Carina. I am a bit 'freeze' when it comes to fight or flight and I am too much of a people pleaser. I HATE conflict - it makes me feel physically sick and my instinct is to smooth things over no matter what. That's not always the right path, but as soon as I sense anger, I clam up. Carina has admitted previously (regarding Tricolor) that she sweeps things under the carpet and her "I just want my family" resonated with me. It's a bit drippy but I think she went to comfort the Stepford Knife out of instinct not loyalty - because the numbers were stacked against her and she didn't like the pack mentality. That's a fair reason to check on someone - however vile they are.

SlightlyJaded · 13/04/2025 09:08

I reckon Eliot was probably a bit of a dick at the beginning but also probably got a terrible edit as they had decided to cast him as a baddie - so perhaps they didn't show a lot of the interactions with Lauren where he might have been more reasonable and fair.

So yes. I agree Lauren is probably re-looking at Eliot and thinking "shit, you're actually quite alpha, quite emotionally tuned in and really hot" and then looking at Clunt and feeling despair. On that basis, she has simply recruited him as her Mean Girl minion.

BinChicken1 · 13/04/2025 10:04

I think Eliot quickly saw Lauren for the nightmare she is, and wanted out. And then got a bad edit. Because he seems entirely inoffensive now. In fact I thought he dealt with V’s shite with a great deal more patience and grace than I would have.

For me, Jamie didn’t make sense because she absolutely could not distinguish between not agreeing with her/disliking her approach, and actually siding with Lauren. It was a very black and white “you are with me or you are against me” with absolutely no nuance.

Lauren is a nightmare and Jamie and the other girls were wrong in their approach. Both of those things can be true. She was a nightmare from the off but actually doesn’t owe Jamie et al any information about her relationship. I also felt they went on Ryan far too hard as well, the night before. Like who do they think they are?!

I felt sorry for Carina and I understand her too, but I felt like she didn’t set her stall out properly. She didn’t say “look, I’m not disagreeing with you and agree Lauren was awful but I just wanted to check she was ok”. She wasn’t direct enough and she kind of flapped around it. However, Jamie tried to bully her. I was glad that she wasn’t pushed into an apology.

Heads up, LUCINDA IS ON SUNDAY BRUNCH!!😁

Came on here to say the same. Fellow guest Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner) is a huge fan and has been really complimentary about her - she's coming across really well.

BippidyBoppety · 13/04/2025 10:43

I don't think anyone has commented on Carina sobbing into the producers arms how she feels "dumb".

Carina stopped by the producer said -

Yeah, I fell like I'm not smart enough. I feel like I'm the dumb girl. I"m not. And with this stuff, I just want to see the best in everyone and I feel like I'm just stupid.

I don't want to be here and getting involved in everyone's relationship and my relationship is going well and like and like and like (I'm) a family girl wouldn't raise my children to speak like that, that's just not me. Family. (sobs).

-----------

Carina is "guilty" of following Stepford Knife out of that drinks event for the other brides and comforting her, being clearly upset. And saying she felt Stepford Knife was ganged up on by the other brides (being Jamie, Beth and Awhina). Jamie has taken that as a betrayal. And has (excuse the use of) doubled down on that. It's a black and white, betrayal to her personally.

Of course the participants don't know how this is edited and televised; this could have come across as a bunch of bitchy women piling on Lauren. I think Rhi just followed her mate Carina out, she didn't (on air) say anything about Lauren getting ganged up on.

FergoMcFergFace · 13/04/2025 10:48

And to be fair to Carina and Rhi, they don't know what a cow Lauren has been behind everyone's backs so I can see why they'd give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was lashing out because she felt piled on.

BinChicken1 · 13/04/2025 10:50

Honestly I wouldn’t ever speak again to a person who spoke to me like Jamie spoke to Carina.

FergoMcFergFace · 13/04/2025 11:18

I'll tell you who Jamie never stood up to: Morena. She stayed well out of the way whenever she kicked off. I think she even said on a VT she wouldn't go there.

Switched over. Lucinda looks great!

I thought that American guy was Martin freeman before he spoke!

BippidyBoppety · 13/04/2025 11:58

The Big Brunch Lucinda interview - she speaks so calmly, that was what was needed at the Dinner Party for Jamie, someone who could say "chill, babe" that Jamie would respect and think - oh, maybe ....

Yes, they showed the clip where she spoke to Jack, it was very impressive.

They should have a free range Lucinda on every series!

Delatron · 13/04/2025 12:45

The thing is Lauren is on a TV show about relationships. You can’t come on a TV show about relationships and expect not to be asked about your relationship!

I might need to rewatch it but I don’t think they were being mean girls by asking her about her relationship. She called them all bogans (behind their backs). She didn’t distinguish she called them ALL bogans, animals and Jamie a troll. To their faces she said she was bored of the conversation and walked off. She didn’t look upset to me.

Therefore nobody really needed to go after her and ‘comfort her’. She has said her peace and wanted to leave. If someone said to me they were bored my conversation and walked off I would not follow them or assume they were upset. At that point the worst Jamie had said to her was that she was rude. Which is as true. Jamie did not name call. Lauren did.

Delatron · 13/04/2025 12:49

I completely disagree with Jamie’s delivery and shouting but I don’t agree with the narrative of poor little Lauren and the mean girls attacking her. That didn’t happen. And you know the producers will have told them to ask her about her relationship…so that didn’t help.

Oneandahalfonagoodday · 13/04/2025 12:51

I agree @Delatron . Also Lauren had no problem with them all fussing round her and talking about her honeymoon troubles with Eliot when she came to the first dinner party on her own.

TitsInAbsentia · 13/04/2025 15:28

I am watching a bit of Sunday Brunch...Tom absolutely loves Lucinda!!

murasaki · 13/04/2025 15:52

Yes, he was a total fanboy, it was lovely.

murasaki · 13/04/2025 15:53

Lucinda for an ixpert, she's calm, has boundaries, and can talk to people calmly and make them think.

ruethewhirl · 13/04/2025 16:26

Not had time to RTFT but is anyone else beginning to wonder if Lauren and Clint are plants??

dapsnotplimsolls · 13/04/2025 16:29

I'm starting to think half of them are plants!

Ooh YES, that would be BRILLIANT!😁

TitsInAbsentia · 13/04/2025 16:36

I definitely feel that Lauren is a plant, and that was even deeper rooted when I found out she's an "actress".
