That is a bit harsh for Sally ngl.

I can't remember. Do we get to see the banquet

Yes, and the kitchen is always three miles from the banqueting hall, the size of an understairs cupboard and equipped with only a single gas-ring and a cool bag.

RampantIvy · 27/03/2025 20:59

So pleased it's Amber.

What I meant was when do we get to see it. Not do we. Typo there. So tomorrow at 7

littlbrowndog · 27/03/2025 21:00

2 women and 1 man cooking at the banquet

BotterMon · 27/03/2025 21:01

So pleased for Amber. Sally is amazing too. Jean is excellent but there's something of the night about him.

EsmaCannonball · 27/03/2025 21:02

littlbrowndog · 27/03/2025 20:59

Yay mark. He was great

Yes, but I couldn't help but think that Daniel had two good rounds but didn't even get to enter the fish course. That also makes the wildcard element even more unfair if it affects who gets to do the canapés and pre-desserts.

Yes, those piercing eyes. Might reasonably have last visited Blenheim Palace in 1762.

Totally. You haven’t a chance of being a runner up if you didn’t even get to cook one dish

Ah I see my problem (which was also the reason I was half hour late the other day). The tv guide app I have gives ni bbc, but the BBC my telly gives is England

ExitPursuedByABare · 27/03/2025 21:06

@BotterMon

Indeed 😍

BlackStrayCat · 27/03/2025 21:39

Well, I would feel rather bitter to just get a starter to the banquet when I scored top marks in 3 dishes.

Davros · 27/03/2025 21:49

My suggestion is that, when someone is awarded a course, they drop out of the rest and a “wild card” (didn’t sound like a judge’s choice but next highest scoring) comes in.
Can I also say that Sally’s pudding did not look that great round the back where the “thread” met. I don’t know why they overlooked that. I’m pleased Amber won although I actually think Jean’s was the best.

It's obviously three miles across the grounds in a totally different building!

Snackpocket · 27/03/2025 22:03

Jean really was excellent wasn’t he. I loved the way his desert looked but obviously the girls tasted better!

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 27/03/2025 22:16

Poor Sally, nobody gives a shit about vegan starters.

I disagree.

To get a dish plus top scores in two other courses was a massive achievement.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 28/03/2025 02:39

Oh she’s brilliant, it’s a massive achievement, but a real shame after doing so well she ended up with the least prestigious course.

PotterHead1985 · 28/03/2025 16:05

Aaand mammy was so looking forward to watching the banquet for the first time. But not to be. We went to hospital. She got let go home. But then the doc rang and along with far too much fluid (2kg of which was put on in 24hrs) her potassium is sky high. So currently waiting on an ambulance.

Davros · 28/03/2025 18:38

@PotterHead1985 💐

PotterHead1985 · 28/03/2025 18:40

Thank you. It feels like this is going to become an even more regular occurrence for how ever long we have left.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 28/03/2025 18:51

Oh I’m sorry to read that @PotterHead1985 your poor mammy & poor you xxx

PotterHead1985 · 28/03/2025 19:03

Thank you.

Evening all

EsmaCannonball · 28/03/2025 19:03

I want Sally to win Champion of Champions but think the starter course is the least likely to do that. Seems so unfair given the week she has had. The odds of Jean winning are good but the dessert course has a good track record of winning. Especially recently.
