I feel sorry for Steph, despite not caring much about her.

looking at things from her point of view

• her parents sent her away to boarding school, for reasons she's unaware of

• Her parents were very antagonistic towards the only family member that seemed to love her (her grandfather) for reasons she's unaware of

• Her beloved Grandfather, the only family member who seems to love her, is missing and no one in her family appears, to her, to care.

so by covering up grandfather's terrible actions, that Steph 100% knows nothing of, her Mum and Dad have created the situation.

Yes Steph's had an awful (if privileged) upbringing and if she's ever going to learn the truth they'd better get a move on as the storyline is rapidly becoming stale.
