Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

@strugglingwithlife Me too and can see Debbie and Ronnie behind that bar quite easily 👍🍺 however there's a worrying storyline unfolding with Debbie and no doubt that will turn out grossly unrealistic if the writers are true to form. Hope not though 🙁

Yes I agree. I am disappointed they have decided to go with Debbie for that storyline. She's one of my favourites

EachandEveryone · 02/04/2025 11:22

Is it too late to change their minds?

JewelleryCat · 02/04/2025 11:30

I just think it’s too close to Paul’s MND storyline for this storyline with Debbie to happen. I have ever since it was rumoured

JellyBeanFactory · 02/04/2025 11:46

Why couldn’t Rita buy the pub and let Jenny run it? She sold The Kabin to Brian so must have that money somewhere.

We’ve not been inside The Kabin for a long time, perhaps Brian has turned it into something else. We used to have stories with all the youngsters getting their first job with a paper round there, I miss those days!

Shellingbynight · 02/04/2025 13:58

I really miss the scenes in t'Kabin. Although it wasn't the same without Rita.

I think the Debbie storyline may be the thing which makes me switch off for good.😩

eggandonion · 02/04/2025 14:03

Didn't Rita have a benign brain tumour removed, following medical issues. Debbie could have the same.
The New couple should vanish, they are nasty.

rainbowruthie · 02/04/2025 14:06

Do we actually know what happened to Debbie in the ginnel - did I blink and miss it?

IIRC I dont think we actually saw it. One minute she was shouting up at the new neighbours house about their music and the next minute she was crawling up the wall off the floor with a cut on her head 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would like to see a new owner/manager taking over the Rovers! Jenny and Daisy should go! It needs a married couple - husband and wife. New characters we've never seen before. There must be hundreds of decent actors out there to choose from. 🍺

I agree. I'd even welcome Liz (McDonald) back to be honest! (As landlady.) Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) is a pretty lass, but I am sick of her moany, rolling eyes, pouty face now!

Oh yeah that would be amazing! Debbie and Ronnie! 😄

True.

However it needs a sledgehammer to highlight concerns sometimes.

There is huge inequality across maternity services which result in significantly poorer outcomes for black women across all demographics and this needs to be addressed urgently.

So even if it’s a five minute wonder on Corrie at least it’s raising awareness of a significant problem.

But Corrie does not have a great record on these things. Last time they did a racism plot, it was Max and the far right gang but then we had the absurd rehabilitation of Max by giving him a black best friend when he was locked up and a black girlfriend when he released. Once again totally unsubtle and to make matters worse they ditched both those young black actors pretty sharpish.

Overall it gives the impression that they love the preachiness, enjoy making themselves look good and pointing the finger at NHS staff but do not follow through themselves.

The hypocrisy is galling.

I don’t disagree with anything you have said.

But at least it might have made some of the audience think ‘is that a thing?’ (inequality in maternity care) which I suppose is at least something?

zanahoria · 02/04/2025 20:28

Everyone is at the bloody hospital

Kev

Julie

DeeDee and half her family

Frankie and Lauren

Honeyroar · 02/04/2025 20:31

And everyone who isn’t in the hospital is in the prison. The Rovers must be dead!

zanahoria · 02/04/2025 20:48

Although the hospital and prison plots are preferable to the ongoing saga of Mick's van

TellingBone · 02/04/2025 21:44

I keep thinking Mick/Mark is dear, departed Paul every time I see him

Shellingbynight · 02/04/2025 21:50

Yes that was unforgiveable. Sabrina was a far better character than Lauren and the way they dropped her made it obvious she was just there to make Max look good until they moved onto the next issue.

eggandonion · 02/04/2025 22:06

Oh no, an awful accident, what will happen to the baby now? Aggie needs to make a speedy comeback.

Totally agree, she was a great actress. I thought she’d be in it more as a friend of Swain’s daughter (I remember they had 1 scene together with Joel), so it’s a pity she hasn’t become a main character!

Honeyroar · 02/04/2025 22:40

DeeDee’s baby is sooo adorable.

MonickerMonica · 02/04/2025 23:05

@Honeyroar

Absolutely beautiful ❤️

Of course invisible Danny has had a terrible accident so James has to rush back to his bedside. Baby girl stays here and DeeDee falls in love with her. 🙄

I HOPE that's how it will play out 🫤

Empress13 · 03/04/2025 03:53

Who is looking after Glory as Michael seems to be at the hospital 24/7 never mind those 3 idiots looking after a newborn!

Oh lord now we’re going to have to go through the ridiculous story line of Mad Mick finding out Chez was the culprit with his van 🥱

WiddlinDiddlin · 03/04/2025 04:20

Mad Mick already knows it was Chez. His Mrs asked him not to mess with Chesney because she likes having Gemma as a friend and I think there was a hint that they'd really seriously fallen out with the neighbours at their previous address and she didn't want that again.

I really hope DeeDee does NOT fall in love with the baby and agree to keep her, I think thats a story that needs covering, that some mothers do not get a rush of maternal feeling, particularly when there is a back story like DeeDees. If she caves and keeps the baby it just undermines the whole 'I know my own mind, I've made my decision', with people (MEN again) deciding they know better than she does!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/04/2025 04:26

Baby Laila is far too cute. I could put her on a butty and eat her all up.😂.
I think Dee-Dee will end up keeping her and while I think it will take time for her (Dee-Dee to connect to her (Laila). She'll turn out to be the most devoted Mum ever. I know everyone is different but look at Lauren, she absolutely adores baby Frankie. She doesn't hold the fact that Joel is h is Father against him, it's never the Baby's fault is it.

I could have sworn that Chesney already knew who Mick was which is why he (Chesney) was a bit dubious of meeting him (Mick).
