Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

Oddly, when the show was first made, this was not uncommon. Especially in working class areas/working class families. Many people did live near where they worked, and most of their family/extended family was within striking distance, and all their friends too.

They would socialise with colleagues and neighbours and family members in the pub once or twice a week - though there were several different pubs, and most people went to the local small-town social club once a week.

Men would play darts, women would play bingo, the kids all knew each other, we all had neighbourhood parties, (for jubilees and footie world cups and the like,) and it was something like it is in Corrie. Oh and most of the mums were stay at home mums...

Now, in 2025 - 60-ish years later, it's very outdated. Very few people live near family, most people don't work within walking distance of their home, and many people don't go to the pub several a week, and socialise with work colleagues in a local social club. (Most can't afford it.)

There was even a works social club where I worked in the 1980s, and we had regular discos and day trips to Blackpool and Rhyl and New Brighton, and around 10 of my extended family members and neighbours worked there. (Factory 15 minutes walk from my home.) All the shops were 10 minutes walk too.

So it was like this, probably up to the early 1980s in my experience.

But yeah, it's not like that now, and Corrie is very outdated, and presenting as life in the 1960s and 1970s and early 1980s....! (IME.)

I don't really mind that type of outdatedness which means they all live, work and find partners within 500 yards, I'm willing to suspend disbelief on that score - but much less so on the melodramatic crime procedurals!

I think the hair is what made Evelyn look younger, not the beret! Evelyn used to have ‘old lady hair’ and they are now presumably letting Maureen use her own hairstyle. Let us know how it goes with the beret @SabreIsMyFave 😆

Definitely is the place to live. Immediate Drs appointments and home visits from GP! No waiting on a hospital trolley, straight into a bed with no other patients.

Agree on the new couple. You can almost write it yourself how it will pan out.

But my main gripe with them is the unrealisticness of Lou's attitude with him.

Lou: Dev says you robbed the shop till
Mick: No, I tripped over Aadi and the till fell in my lap and I was hurt so I ran away
Lou: Okay right. Dev! You massive liar! Chin him Mick!

Yes the new couple are awful, though I think she might be salvageable if he would piss off somewhere. It makes perfect sense for Audrey to move to the street, she still works in the hairdressers there (I think?) and all her friends are there.

I despair at this show these days. Just utter nonsense. Sad, because I used to enjoy the hammy comedy but now it is just awful.

I think a soap about your street would be better than Corrie is at the moment!

I’m still enjoying it - yes, it’s not classic Corrie but it’s still good & I love the quips & one liners.

I cannot help feeling they have wasted having Maureen Lipman on the show. She came in on an absurd plot and has left on one. Although apparently she is going to keep coming back. Claire Sweeney is another good actress with a soap pedigree. It just seems a bit off having the pair of them act out this nonsense.

Stephanie Cole, who played Roy's mother for a short while, was completely wasted on Corrie as well.She could act the others off the screen.

I loathe Leanne. Always have , right from watching her as a young woman on Classic Corrie. There’s something about her that I find really irritating. Very dislikable woman.

Cassie is sleeping rough but had the chance to do her eye makeup and has beautifully manicured and painted nails. That is so easy to get right but they can’t be bothered.

As for the rest - Lauren and Frankeh (poor DeeDee), Tracey being blamed and Cassie being exonerated, Daisy and her mardy face trying to force Kit to care, Betsey and her PTSD… terrible episode.

The show’s moral compass is as skewed as Hope’s.

Why did Tyrone let Evelyn guilt trip him?

He has provided a home for a nan and a mum who ditched him as baby

Neither have ever shown much gratitude.

He was right when he said his daughters did not need a drug addict in the house.

James has a new head! I think him and Danny want Deedee's baby.

I felt abit sorry for betsy tonight. Carla's breezy attitude to her struggling with rob on the run was actually pretty mean. Betsy was good enough to hand over her inheritence money but not for Carla to take a back seat at work to provide a bit of moral support.

I loved the way they both shouted "James" just to let us know.

Although Betsy did contribute to Carla being bashed over the head in the first place.

No sympathy for Betsy from me!

At least New James can act, unlike the last one.

I struggle to feel sorry for Betsy too. Especially as whenever she is upset/crying, she sounds like a bloody lamb. Every. Time!

I wonder if DeeDee’s baby’s birth is going to be linked to stem cell banks ? Frankie could have the transplant from new donor but DeeDee’s baby’s cord could be banked for future use if it becomes necessary.

I did wonder how Daisy did her make-up so perfectly with her arm in a sling. Cassie’s is even more unbelievable.

I agree that new head James is after the baby.

Daisy even had her hair plaited last week. Tricky with one arm, and she wasn’t speaking to Jen so she didn’t do it for her!

Definitely think new head James wants to adopt the baby. As Ed was so invested in getting DeeDee to the restaurant do you think he’s in on it too in order to keep the baby in the family ?

Before Newhead James was hailed by the Baileys, I thought the surprise visitor was going to be Aggie. I was so confused. I'd forgotten James existed.
