Cassie's walking around with her tail between her legs, as Ken rumbled her nasty little game. Tracey saw through her but few others did, and Cassie's attempts to fool Tracey were lame. Hope still wants to be friends with her nan, but no-one wants Cassie around. She wants some love and friendship and support, but there's really very little to be found.

David wants someone to kill him so his family will be looked after. He wants someone to hit him with a car, these storylines are getting dafter! Kevin's got cancer it appears to be spreading, which is really quite worrying and sad. Rosie and Sophie haven't made an appearance yet, are they not worried about their dad?

Carla had her brother Rob's kidney, he's in jail for murder, under guard, but the guard is his girlfriend, and not be trusted, so escaping from the hospital wasn't hard. Abi's still struggling after seeing Mason killed, but trying to pull herself together. Her portrait of Kevin was a sight to behold, Debbie thought she'd be laughing forever.

Carla and Swain are still loved up, and Eileen's sister Julie's shown her face. She says she's got cancer, how awful if she has it too. Seems it's turning up all over the place. Leanne and Toyah's story has quietened down a bit, and the institution's in the past, Daisy's telling Daniel he's the baby daddy but he's not, I wonder how long the lie will last.

Jenny's about to be kicked off the deeds, at the Rovers against her wishes. Daniel's bailing her and Daisy out, and wants to make Daisy his missus. Max got a chunk of time in jail for setting fire to his house. And Dylan's incarcerated for possessing a knife, but is keeping as quiet as a mouse.

The Baileys have dwindled, and DeeDee where is she? Ronnie's still about, and easy on the eyes is he! I've probably missed something important I expect, and I'm sorry if I've missed something out. It's hard to remember everything and everyone, and make sure you don't miss nowt!

So I imagine Alya won’t manage to get a job and will temporarily work at the restaurant and will pick up arguments with Leane where Toyah and Nick left off. Just when we thought we’d got rid of that annoying plot.

stampin · 11/03/2025 11:56

At least Leanne will have a different set to stomp around.

I really enjoy it when she throws a strop, and she's due one.

They didn’t bother to hang about with Yasmeen’s exit did they, a few brief mentions and she’s off. Where did Leanne get the money to buy the shares? She sold her Bistro shares but gave the money to Amy.

They have ruined so many characters with the Not Dead David storyline, but no doubt everyone will have forgotten it by Easter. I’m particularly irked about Jenny, a total character assassination and she still hasn’t got the money to pay the debt.

I agree David telling Daisy about the set up was shoddy plotting. He risks going to jail which isn’t exactly going to help his family and it was not going to make Daisy feel any better so what was the point, other than to ladle on more misery. Nothing will happen of course, she won’t get the money back (as if) and can’t go to the police. She will just glare mardily into the distance, which seems to be her only character trait now.

I couldn't have put it better myself... It's a terrible leaving storyline for Yasmeen, and a tedious exit. It's totally daft to pretend, that a 70 year old woman would be flying off for a new career in London. (And as someone said further back, when did she get a car to drive down there?!)

Sorry, I'm not being ageist. I'm in my late 50s myself and every woman I know, even over 65 - is actually retired ... The last thing they'd be doing is going into a full time career at 70, and leaving for a city 200 miles away. Leaving their family and friends etc...

Would any employer even employ a woman of that age, with zero experience in the job? 'Oh I have a job with a charity...' Doing what? And why in That London? I know a woman who is in her late 50s who told me she has a new job working for a charity after she was made redundant from a middle management job, and it turned out she volunteers in a charity shop in a town 10 miles away. Nothing wrong with that, but she did flower it up a bit. I wonder if that's what Yasmeen is doing? 😬 Got a volunteer job and decided to bunk up with Zeedan?

And as someone said, isn't it funny how someone can pack up their entire life and start a new one within a day? 😆 Always the same in soaps! It would take me a week just to pack up my DVDs, CDs, books, and vinyl collection!!!

I'm also stick to death of Daisy and will be glad when she's gone. She's always got the same annoying pout on her face - and yep, they really have piled the doom on her. And I can't see why David had to tell her what happened. And I'm also really annoyed at the character assassination of Jenny. She's one of my favourite characters .. they better not get rid of her. I think it's a daft storyline too for Leanne to buy Yasmeen's shares in the bistro. And where did she get the money from? It must have cost 10s of 1000s of pounds. It's obvious that Alya is going to be involved in running it now, and she and Leanne will be at each others throats.

I also really like Julie. I'm so glad they brought her back. I really hope that her dying is fake, and she's not actually dying and she stays for a while. I'd forgotten about her, but now she's back. I remember how much I liked her. Todd is one of my favourite characters now too.

I hope Julie is fake dying too.
Adam must be the fastest solicitor in town. I hope he buys the house from Yasmeen and has a long happy marriage with Aliya. I like how they remembered leanne was almost an in law.
Jenny is a good landlady. And Leanne is a good bossy boots.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 11/03/2025 10:43

Shelley king (yasmeen) chose to leave I believe.

I always suspect the producers allow the actors to state this. Not many actors nowadays would willingly give up a regular job, unless she really wants to retire of course.

Lorrymum · 11/03/2025 13:54

Confused as to where Leanne found the money. Who else has shares in the restaurant? Why even bother selling shares, Aliya could just have managed the place.
Please, no more of Dylan in the young offenders unit. Who cares or is even vaguely interested? Coronation Street writers are obsessed with prison scenes. I think half the street have been behind bars at some time or other!

Greentableleg · 11/03/2025 14:00

So Carla still doesn't get her money, Daniel has given away 40k of Bertie's money and what will Kit do if he finds out that David planned the whole crash thing?
Yasmeen packing up, selling her shares and leaving in the course of a day was ridiculous but this is soapland after all!

I agree. Sick of seeing that annoying lad with Dylan too. Why is he so weirdly friendly - and all over Dylan? Confused Sick of his face now tbh, and his voice. And you just know that he's going to turn out to be a wrong 'un!

@SabreIsMyFave I’m 67 and I don’t think you’re being ageist, I agree with you. Wiki says Yasmeen was born in 1953 so she's 72! I suppose it's less ridiculous than Evelyn's sudden interest in a law degree.

I’m pretty sure Julie really is dying, bizarre as it seems to kill off such a lovely character played by a good actress. IMO they’ve done the Julie storyline the wrong way round. They should have had Eileen dying and Julie coming back into it. There are some characters I can’t stand now as they have been ruined over the years, Eileen is one, Sean is another. In Classic both are funny and likeable.

Shelley King apparently wants to do more stage work, she did quite a bit pre Corrie. I can’t blame her (or anyonelse!) for leaving.

WiddlinDiddlin · 11/03/2025 15:20

@SabreIsMyFave He's manipulating Dylan into being in his debt... pointed references to 'you owe me...' several times over the interactions we've seen. Gradually the owing him stuff will increase, now its 'i covered for you/took the rap for you'...

Eventually he will start to call in his debts and Dylan will be under his control.

The stupid thing is, Dylan watched Mason do this to other people, but it hasn't dawned on him at all that being in anyones debt in any way is a bad idea.

YesImawitch · 11/03/2025 15:43

And I'm also really annoyed at the character assassination of Jenny. She's one of my favourite characters .

Jenny being nice was out of character, she's always been absolutely awful and what Daisy said was true .
I do hate what they have done with Jennys clothes though, she always dressed like she was off to a wedding JaquesVert style now it's all frumpy hippy stuff.

MonickerMonica · 11/03/2025 16:16

Just a thought here. As everything else is fast tracked on Corrie I'm thinking if Evelyn's law degree does the same then who knows, afternoon telly could have a new show. Along the lines of Judge Rinder/Judge Judy.

I think Evelyn would be perfect 🧑‍🎓

And it's so boring and been done again and again

I wish he'd disappear, I'm not interested in the prison

Thank you. That makes sense. Smile As @suburburban said though, this storyline has been done to death! Wrong 'uns all over the shop! street!

I'm not interested in the prison scenes either, sick of them tbh

zanahoria · 12/03/2025 00:15

Eileen is looking a bit like Gail did for the last few years, no real interest in the show and just phoning it in.

Cannot I say I blame them. It must be wearing doing some of these rubbish plots.

Brody just seems ridiculous.

Acting the hard lad but looks like an impeccably clean cut nice lad.

Microbantime · 12/03/2025 06:24

Are we supposed to grow fond of this new lad with Dylan, like we did with Mason before he was killed off.

AmusedMaker · 12/03/2025 06:36

Crikey, Yasmeen must be the quickest exit from the Street I’ve ever seen.
Starting again at 70? Leaving all your friends?
I suppose it happens. She hasn’t got great memories from the Street and seems fit & healthy.
The prison scenes are boring I agree.
Brody is obviously grooming Dillion for something awful ( & probably ridiculous)
Eileen couldn’t look more bored & disinterested if she tried and doesn’t add anything to the show.

Julie is great and so glad they’ve brought in a really good older character.
Sick of the Betsy’s.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 12/03/2025 06:57

As previous poster said why couldn't we keep Julie who is a fab character and kill off Eileen instead. She's chosen to leave the show so probably wouldn't mind.

I find Brody rather sinister and suspect what he is going to do to Dylan.

Greentableleg · 12/03/2025 08:39

Julie is like an old style Corrie character. I wish she could stay on, her and George would make a better couple than Eileen and George do. Never liked Eileen anyway!

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 12/03/2025 09:07

Eileen is so miserable now she used to be a better character.

Shellingbynight · 12/03/2025 09:14

Eileen used to be great in the earlier days, she's unrecognisable now as the same character. I think it all went wrong with the Phelan storyline.

AmusedMaker · 12/03/2025 09:47

I missed the Phelan years - but I’m sure Eileen used to be a happy cheery type of character?

Maybe life has jaded her and that’s where they’ve gone with the character - but you never really hear much from Eileen to explain how she sees life now, & how she realizes shes changed, maybe if she did we’d understand her more.

Shellingbynight · 12/03/2025 09:51

Yes Eileen was cheery, you're right. Be grateful you missed the Phelan years, the storyline went on far too long and it dragged her down. Corrie have ruined a lot of old timers with ridiculous plots so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised!
