It has been confirmed that Ten Pound Poms season 2 will begin on Sunday 9th March at 8pm on BBC One with episodes to air weekly.

Michelle Keegan reprises her role as nurse Kate Thorne in the second instalment, alongside returnees Faye Marsay and Warren Brown

In the trailer, which I Havnt seen yet - viewers can watch on as Robbie shares a tender moment with Kate as they rekindle their friendship

while a new character – Benny Bates (Marcus Graham) – is introduced with some words of wisdom for Terry.

The official synopsis for season 2 reads: "After a challenging first year in Australia, series two follows nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) and the Roberts family (led by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown) into 1957 on their adventure down under, each determined against all odds to achieve their slice of the Australian dream.

"As Kate, Annie and Terry settle into their new lives, they each struggle to reconcile their hopes for the life they were promised with the harsh realities they face at Galgownie."

There are also some new characters joining for season 2, as the Skinner family arrive from Ireland "ready to enjoy their new lives in the sunshine".

Further casting includes Rob Collins (Mystery Road) as Ron, Leon Ford (Elvis) as Bill, Declan Coyle (Long Black) as Stevie, Stephen Curry (Hounds Of Love) as JJ, Hattie Hook (Savage River) as Pattie, Finn Treacy (The Portable Door) as Peter, Emma Hamilton (The Tudors) as Sheila and Cheree Cassidy (Underbelly) as Marlene.

I didn't think I'd remember the people from the first series but they came back to me watching ep 1 of the new one. Enjoying it , easy watching .

I’ve decided to rewatch right from the beginning again.
it’s been almost 2 years, so no wonder I couldn’t remember the plot lines!

Nearly 2 years - really ?
I was rather pleased when I saw the recent adverts for it, and knew I'd be watching it. As Blondes said the recaps helped and whilst watching it lots came back to me.

I've been catching up this evening on iplayer. I was a bit hazy on a few of the storylines and could have done with a longer "previously" at the start of the episode. Eg. When Annie read the letter from her mother in law on the bus and there was a mention of Harry Brewis the baker, I had no idea why this was mentioned!

Poor Kate. I wonder if we're going to see her in prison next.

I love all the fashion and cars. It's a fascinating part of history and I don't know much about it.

Although I was sorry for Kate, in a way I can see why the adoptive mum reported her - she was probably afraid that Kate might decide to take him off again, if she had access to him.

I did get a bit confused by the new characters tonight - perhaps they were in the last series, but I don't remember them!

I am getting confused about some of the characters. Can someone remind me what is going on with the boat house? Who lived at number 23 before the Irish family?

I did get a little confused who some are

so have new Irish family whose dad died Coming over on the boat

who is Robbie who wants to marry kate

Irish are in Artys cabin who died and they found the deeds to the fish cabin

irish son Ray is gay and has feelings for bill I think

but not sure who Ron is who is locking place up at the end

Stevie and Pattie are over as he was trying to lighten baby’s skin

and Kate has signed away all rights ana never to go 3miles near Micheal

only way I can see her seeing him again is if the adoptive parents die

Terry is now earning his money and getting into blackmail

i remember the guy who was locking up the shack, he worked with Annies husband.
i assume the baker was someone she knew in the war.
no idea who Kates new man is though.

Robbie rings a bell. Not sure why

Robbie was working at immigration and customs when they arrived off the boat. He sort of flirted with Kate when he took her photo (first episode, season 1)
She then ‘borrowed’ JJ’s truck, and had a date with Robbie, but as he was kissing her, she took the key out of his pocket for his offices, to look up Michael’s file.
He caught her in the act, and was initially angry, but as he was sweet on her, he subsequently assisted her in finding Michael.

To be fair, I had forgotten a great deal myself - so I reached season 1, which was pretty easy as only 6 episodes!
