Here we go!

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 23/03/2025 00:15

I’ve seen the magician IRL at a wedding!

PlumpHobbit · 23/03/2025 00:29

Loved the Magician and Chinese lady

Voldemortifying · 23/03/2025 02:01

I find magicians boring. The lady on the bike was amazing. The GB act makes me feel uncomfortable. I think what they are doing is a wonderful thing but putting them on BGT is not wonderful.

Sorry but I'm sick of sympathy acts getting gold buzzers just because. I feel the public are getting fed up of it as well, because they generally don't do amazing in the semi finals

Freddie Mercury sounding guy deserved the gold way more

I'd have absolutely no problem if one came on and blew everyone away but not just because of the need for the sympathy vote

Have to agree. As if the judges wouldn't put them through 🤦🙄Can you imagine the outrage?

What you think they should be hidden away from public view ?

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2025 09:22

The people performing don't want your 'sympathy'. What is there to be 'sympathetic' about? They were happy, enjoying themselves, performing with gusto, leading their best lives.

Honestly, that some still feel 'sympathy' when they see people with a range of disabilities, rather than seeing 'abilities' say more about those posters than anything else.

I am so sorry - this must have enraged and upset you elderflower.

The group themselves are a well known collective - also been on CIN if I recall. It's about celebrations and inspiration. The sort of thing that is always on the RVS.

People who don't want to see disabled performers having their best time should know better than to watch variety shows. But I suspect they want them hidden from view. This was so much better and more purposeful than the irritating Nativity style primary school kid rip off acts.

Leave it down to the public vote to decide whether they progress or not.

I don’t think that at all. For me it feels like they are being exploited and of course they will be put through for all the wrong reasons.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2025 09:31

Expoitation ?That's quite an accusation ....

I just told you how it makes me feel.

JandamiHash · 23/03/2025 09:53

I’m also sick of sympathy acts getting GB. There are loads of TV shows where a sympathy act is absolutely the right fit, this show should be for talent.

I also think the public are getting sick of it. The year Viggo Venn won was sympathy act in-your-face at every opportunity type year and he won IMO because people lashed out and had enough of having it shoved down our throats.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2025 10:06

Just checking...on what show would you deem a 'sympathy act' the 'right fit'?

Voldemortifying · 23/03/2025 10:09

The other concern I have is whether these people could give informed consent for appearing on BGT. I guess some of them could but not all of them.

I have the same concerns with young children appearing.

Snowmanscarf · 23/03/2025 11:32

Loved the magician, superb showman and amazing magic, although the trick did remind me of ‘X’ s magic trick a few years ago (was half expecting him to appear).

Chinese unicycle bowl trick - how does she do it, but there wasn’t much else to her performance. Once she’d done it a couple of times, you’d seen the act.

I don’t see how they give permission when there understanding of giving permission is as it is.

Piggywaspushed · 23/03/2025 14:20

Informed consent can be given by parents or carers.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2025 18:03

I was quite bored with the basketball act

Elderflower14 · 29/03/2025 19:20

I'm bored in general this year!!

OP posts:
JewelleryCat · 29/03/2025 19:22

I can take or leave BGT

Littletreefrog · 29/03/2025 19:24

Not a fan of magicians on the TV because you never know what's real (I know it's filmed in front of a live audience) but I need the magician to be right in front of me so I can see everything before I'm impressed. The basketball was nothing we haven't seen before. Most acts could maybe entertain me for 2 minutes if I was otherwise bored but there isn't any I would pay money to go and see.

Meredusoleil · 29/03/2025 19:26

Loved this Korean magician 🎩

JewelleryCat · 29/03/2025 19:26

I liked this guy from South Korea. He was amazing

Jellykat · 29/03/2025 19:28

How the hell did he do that? slick as fuck!
