I know it probably always was, but it's feeling more set up than ever this year. Felt that way last year, notably too. Wasn't the year before Viggo and the public saying they'd had enough of sob stories?
Gold buzzers used to be special, and whoever got one was the only act of their semi final night who had one now they're just pressed willy nilly with the judges seemingly making up the rules as they go along to suit them
We then get the new rule each judge has a gb for the final. So they can basically pick who they want in there.
The judges take more attention than the acts, I like Simon and surprisingly, given I'm not a you tube watcher, KSI
Simon has definitely got more lenient there's a lot he wouldn't give time of day to originally that are now put through - scraping the barrel?
The scouted acts are probably needed, or there wouldn't be enough, and some of them are good, but stop trying to hide they aren't
Stop trying to pretend the viewers are stupid, e.g. "have you got another song". I'm still sceptical about Max being "just another audience member", especially coupled with the fact he was good, then got a buzzer. Yes he had a ticket, easy to provide that for him as part of the set up. Also he said he'd tried 19 years to apply? But he was good, and British (in these days when theyre needing a tonne of scouted/overseas acts to boost numbers?). Nah... if he'd previously applied he was certainly good enough to be shortlisted
Way too many singers, I actually like Linda, she's one of my favourites this year, and I liked the guy in drag who sung nessun dorma (but then i liked both songs) but just feels like every other act is singing or dancing
Perhaps GB should be revoked, and after all acts have auditioned, they have a "gb" for each category, e.g. dance/sing/magic/misc then that person is the only act of their category/only gb act that night
It's one of those things I still watch but feels like for a long time it's had its day. No one really stands out any more, I can remember very few of the acts. I liked the drag queen, Linda, the light group that were like the light version of attraction and a couple of the magicians. I actually liked the bin man and am not usually a fan of silly! I can't really remember anyone else. Glad there weren't any dog acts!
I don't think it'll help they are now doing the semi finals over Saturdays only, I'll have forgotten those on tne early shows by the time they appear in the final.
Feel it needs an x factor style binning (funny how that hasn't come back after being "rested") or at the very least, a rest.
