Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

I'm in the middle of a rewatch and got teary at Ange. I'm the same age as Sharon, my mum died when I was 22 - I don't believe in an afterlife, I know Ange appearing is a construct of Sharon hitting her head, an externalisation etc, but I still found it personally meaningful - I'm very mindful of being emotionally manipulated by TV and film (I loathed Bridget Jones 4, because I found it so 'lets have the boy sing the song his dead dad sang at bedtime...') but it worked for me..

TurquoiseDreamCatcher · 20/02/2025 14:20

I loved that episode.

My highlights were seeing the ghost of Angie, although o got really emotional about this!

I was so annoyed with Stacey! The building is collapsing and she was pressuring Martin into making major life choices (in her favour)! She clearly wasn't going to leave until he had agreed she was the one. Frustrating, as I really like the Stacey character normally.

I'm left wondering if the Queen Vic will claim two of Stacey's husbands!

Phil was heartbreaking - Grant is a useless toad powered by his penis.

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 14:23

When I first realized it was Angie , I did wonder if she had come to ' fetch ' Sharon because it was her time to die, but it wasn't!
It was well done

Porcelainpig · 20/02/2025 15:06

I'm wondering if the Knights will get in trouble because of the explosion. I like them, but they need better storylines, especially Elaine.

In EE there are too many blackmail storylines and too many explosions. Lots of running with 'issue' storylines but only covering them superficially. It's also annoying that as a parent of a child with complex needs it gets diagnosed quickly and help just arrives which is not the bloody case. Real life issues have real struggles, but these are always glossed over. They do episodes where there isn't much going on and you really get to know a character well really well. I wish there was more of those. The character based stuff is far more superior to twisty plot lines that aren't very feasible.

And then there is Angie’s ghost - that was a jumping the shark moment for me

I loved seeing Angie but it was pretty hilarious her walking backwards to fade away...!

I was howling 😭😭😭

Agree with this, including all soaps, just stop with the issues and develop your characters 😕

Soaps should also reflect the day today day stuff as well, that's how you get to know who someone is

That's how we know that cathy just wouldn't have shovelled cindy 🙄, we've known her for years

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 15:19

Thanks @PeggyMitchellsCameo for highlighting the Michelle and Sharon two-hander episode which I just rewatched - the first time in 36 years. Sue Tully and Letitia Dean always had fabulous chemistry and the episode is as absorbing as I remember it. I wish they'd do more of those two-handers. EE was the first soap to do these - Corrie etc followed later on.

Anyone wanting a celebratory meal tonight can cook this 😂

But where is the recipe for Fishy Baskets???

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 16:05

Oh yes, the 'fishy baskets ' !
Didn't it give people food poisoning? Jean didn't thaw the fish out properly

Porcelainpig · 20/02/2025 16:06

If the actress who plays Jean ever ends up on celebrity masterchef she can cook it. At least she won't have to deal with that pervert Gregg anymore as the name of that dish would have made him intolerable.

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 10:25

Maybe there was a small team that went to her home to film it - make up, camera person etc? Her bit didn't need to be filmed in a studio from what it looked like.

Feeling a bit daft now because I watched the episode last night on my phone and just rewatched it on my laptop - of course it was filmed in a studio and both actors were together 😳

It was well done with Sharon and her mum
It did look as if she was on the famous Vic stairs!

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 16:18

I actually felt even more emotional watching it again today, particularly when Angie told Sharon that they'll be together again one day and when Sharon told Angie she needed her (sniff).

I remember loving the episodes where they shared a flat. I was the same age as them, so envious they had a place of their own.
What struck me was how dirty everything was - the outsides of the shops, the flat looks like it needs a scrub, and the Ritz crackers on the table….
My mum hated soaps, she thought it was so common to have ‘stuff’ on top of kitchen cabinets/tables. I remember in Corrie they’d have a bottle of milk on the table and buttered bread at tea time.
It was a fantastic episode and at some point Sharon says ‘dickhead’ and I wondered how they got that in.
Such fantastic acting.
As for bringing up kids, little Vicky just gets shoved into a single bed on top of a bri-nylon sheet. However did we all get out alive?!

ChoccyJules · 20/02/2025 16:27

I was properly surprised by Angie turning up, as I saw the actress on the documentary but assumed she had wandered over from the Doctor Who set. But now I remember they film that in Wales 🙃

What's the betting Nicola and Jumpers will have got back together when that revelation spills out (because Sharon is surely going to go back to Phil).

After seeing Jumpers showing his true colours by leaving Sharon to it in the ambulance after Mangy Gorilla Grant heroically rescued her the dice are cast...

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 17:07

Jumpers made sure he was in the cafe scoffing the free sarnies and getting help for Barney rather than trying to rescue his new g/ friend or even seeing what was going on!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 20/02/2025 17:08

Cindy is definitely leaving as well, after shoving Ian and causing the fire

Shadesofscarlett · 20/02/2025 17:13

so those at risk of dying could be Cindy, Sonia and/or Stacey

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 17:17

Cindy seemed ok to me , I bet she just has a few bruises or something!
Probably chatting up the paramedic on the way to the hospital too.
It is pointing to Martin being a goner , but they like a curved ball

Southeastdweller · 20/02/2025 17:27

Seems too obvious to be Martin as we've been left on a cliffhanger with the writers wanting us to think he's in serious peril.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 20/02/2025 17:33

It hadn't occurred to me but you're right about Teddy not giving Sharon a thought! It was symbolic that Gorilla Grant carried her out, didn't he set a fire in the Vic years ago and he had to rescue Shaz that time too? (or have I remembered wrong?)

I wondered if Cindy's recently healed head injury could resurface - new brain bleed, end of Cindy. Either that or the stomach wound may not be as superficial as the paramedic thought. (Fingers crossed.)

They may want a 'surprise' death rather than the more obvious one of Martin and his steel beam.

the80sweregreat · 20/02/2025 17:43

Dh is worried that if Martin ends up in a wheelchair he won't be able to run his stall. Donna managed it, but it's not easy.
Maybe someone will take it over from him , if he lives of course
Ruby bought it for him, so she might want it back !

LuxuryWoman2020 · 20/02/2025 17:45

I'm not at all convinced Martin will die. I think it's possible Ian is far more injured than he appears or possibly Ruby will rush into the Vic to help Martin and something will fall om her.

I'm normally way off though!
