Maybe Dee and Jack might be alright now.
Alfie and Kat are back together , but that won't last or they might get married again .
Elaine and George seem ok ( until he starts seeing Cindy , I bet that happens)

Yolande and Patrick are solid as are Howie and Kim. So a few around.

Bianca was great, Patsy is a natural.

I found the conversations between Martin and Stacey quite saccharine. The scenes were well acted but it relied on us believing in a great love which we have seen no evidence of for years. I agree they wouldn’t have been happy for long if he'd lived.

Nigel should go back to his wife, Grant is as tightly wound as an 8 day clock and would have zero patience with dementia behaviours (not that Nigel is showing any signs of dementia at the moment, conveniently enough).

I do feel they could have had M and S back together for a few weeks or days at least , in the pub for the wedding with Ruby scowling at them occasionally, but still the same ending.
The wedding / I love you chat at the end would have been much more natural and they could have been held up falling debris or a stuck door rather than a chat about their feelings.
However , is what it is and now we have weeks of misery and a funeral to get on with. :(

Yes that would have worked a lot better, I agree.

I know EE is fiction, but the thought of Lily, Hope, Arthur and now Roman being without their father is so sad. What next for the Fowler clan?

Someone upthread mentioned Phil's limp becoming more noticeable, his character fell down the garage inspection pit but maybe a RL hip problem?
Did anyone notice Grant also has a strange gait?

Yes , the various children they both have now don't have a male role model around and it is sad. Amy lost her mum at a fairly young age too, they really are not kind to children on EE are they! Positively awful or stuck in the kids cupboard.

Sonia‘s screams and facial expressions were comical and cringy, disappointed with her birth scenes, which, I’m sure, weren’t meant to be comical.

I had the feeling that Natalie Cassidy wasn't too bothered especially now it's confirmed she isn't sticking around. She has been busy doing other projects and probably just checked out of being Sonia! Bianca and Lauren stole that show

Agree.

Sonia’s shocked / distressed face really makes her look like one of the muppets to me. It’s hard not to burst out laughing.

Sonia was terrible last night. I wish her character had died instead of Martin. The baby could have been brought up on the Square (by someone random probably) not Bianca because she's going off, and eventually we'd see if little orphaned Julia had any musical aptitude like her parents. Stacy was brilliant, such a good actress. Am glad Jack and Denise ended up back together. Makes more sense than her choosing Ravi just because he's really, really handsome.

Yeah, thinking about it , Sonia dying would have been better
It nearly happened too!

Don't get me wrong, I was gutted last night that they killed Martin off. And I kept thinking what a great loss it was. Mainly because he added a bit of comic relief / normal nice bloke good dad vibes.

But I'm REALLY struggling to think of any storylines / chances to shine that he's had in the last 10 years (since he came back as a new actor).. Can anyone actually think of any? 😂

Things happen to the women around him: Stacey's mental health, Ruby lying, Lily getting pregnant.. but Martin's just kind of been there. Nice and supportive. Just gets on with it. No real signs of any huge internal anguish...

Nasty to Sonia and generally a total misery.
Agree that he hasn't had any big storylines at all really. His was just around
He was horrible to Stacey over her ' only fans ' job and problems with Theo and him and Ruby was never that credible.

I don’t know if we will ever find out whether it was mutual or he was told he was going, but I do think there’s a nice synchronicity with Pauline being pregnant with him in the first episode and him dying on the anniversary.

@Fluffylizard1 I agree, and I suspect it is because James is a limited actor. There was an interlude when Martin got involved with Ben and 'went bad' (he was ordered to shoot Keanu) but it wasn't very convincing. The rest of the time he hung around the stall and annoyed Stacey/Ruby in rotation.

I've just had another sudden sadness thought that Zac has lost his mate too, we saw him in the pub that day Martin left him on his own and he looked ever so sad (the one where Tracy said something like 'just don't)
But then Zac carried penny out and didn't do much else during the whole thing I was really hoping to see whit back even just for a very short time especially when Bianca was missing

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ravi is easy on the eye?! I'm so glad Denise went with Jack as I was fully convinced it would be Ravi with the amount of swooning done about him everywhere! I mean he's not ugly but he wears a man bun! 😝

@Liv999 Hmmm, I suspect you are a rare outlier in not finding Ravi attractive! I agree he has a very dodgy barnet, but his eyes are extraordinarily beautiful. (Do I need to mention his biceps? Oh go on, then...)

I agree that Martin was a boring character but I've said it before, we need a few boring characters on EE to balance out the chaotic lives of other characters. It's (a tiny bit) like real life, we all know a plodder who never causes any bother.

I agree re man bun but I would be willing to overlook it if he gave me the glad eye. Apologies for use of the term glad eye, but I'm old and I quite like it.

I voted for Ravi ( simple reason , more easy on the eye - how shallow am I ) but agree Jack & Jack is better suited for Denise .
Yes sad for Martin , but new characters are a good thing , and even though I dislike most at the start ( looking at you Priya ) they often grow on me.

Priya is very underused at the moment
She needs a juicy storyline!

Yes she's a great actress / actor . I like that she has a great comedic persona and feel she could be found a long term spot on the show .
Perhaps she could also take on managing the shop and seen as getting involved with lots of characters as it seems quite limited at the moment .

Where does Priya work at the moment ?
Surely Ian could give her a job in the pie shop now Cindy has left or yes, the mini mart
She'd be good at that as she is friendly

I'd love for ee to be on on Fridays, got nothing on tv to look forward to til Monday now
