This is our tenth anniversary of sharing our thoughts on Our Girl series one and have subsequently watched the other three series, followed by Soldier Soldier, The Musketeers, Spooks and Hustle so thought it was time to try something different. Isobel is cross with Matthew about his misplaced sense of duty.

Mary has told Sir Pilchard that she won't marry him. He is not a happy man at all. There he goes threatening her.

oooohh, don't mention Lavinia!!! And it's fisticuffs.

In comes Granny to see what's going on. Best line of the episode follows "Do you promise?"

Matthew apologises about the vase and Violet is almost grateful that it's broken if it means that Mary and Matthew are together.

Sir Pilchard tries to slink off after that display.

Sir Richard is a vile person. Well done Violet only took one word to trounce him.

Anna observes another little chit chat between Lord H and Rosamund's maid.

A telegram has arrived - Bates has been reprieved.

Oh oh Lord H looks suspicious now

Ooops, I nodded off for a bit there, sorry.

Mr Bates' sentence has been commuted to life imprisonment.

A reprieve for Bates..life imprisonment. Better news at least.

Mr Bates makes Anna promise that she will go out and live her life. It could be many years even if he is eventually released.

It's the servant's ball. Poor Matthew he's got to dance with O'Brien. He'll need a stiff drink for that.

This is a very socially awkward occasion

Anna sees Lord H and the maid going upstairs. Daisy asks properly for a pay rise after taking Mr Mason's advice.

All sedately dancing. Gosh Thomas has the honour of dancing with the Dowager

Poor Rosamund - she knew what he was like but she still liked him and didn't want to be alone.

So Lord H caught in the act. I said Nigel Havers perfect for the part

Mary and Matthew dance together again.
