This is our tenth anniversary of sharing our thoughts on Our Girl series one and have subsequently watched the other three series, followed by Soldier Soldier, The Musketeers, Spooks and Hustle so thought it was time to try something different. Please join us and share your thoughts if you have ever been a fan of Downton Abbey. We are currently on series two, episode seven.

So, Lord Hepworth would like to see Rosamund after midnight.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:16

Nigel Havers is perfect in this sort of part

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:17

O'Brien and Thomas always hatching plans as he needs to ingratiate himself.

Bit of an understatement for Edith to say he hurt his arm - he was shot!

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:18

Lavinia's Dad has died. Matthew has the knack of getting to deathbeds on time

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:20

Anna observes Rosamund's maid having a natter with Lord H. Methinks she doth protest too much?

Matthew steps in to keep Mary away from Sir Pilchard.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:20

Mary and Sir R a bit nippy with each other

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:21

Mary admits that Sir Pilchard is getting on her nerves. Gosh imagine being prepared to marry him anyway.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:22

Matthew aware of the chitchat between Sir R and Mary. She insists she will marry him though

Ilovelblue · 05/03/2025 21:22

Whilst the shooting party are doing their stuff, Mr Mason arrives.

Lady Edith is practically throwing herself at Sir Anthony.

Here's William's Dad. Sounds like Mrs Patmore is smoothing the way for Daisy and Dad to spend more time together.

Edith is pursuing the old buffer again.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:23

Edith appearing a bit desperate.

Ilovelblue · 05/03/2025 21:23

Sir Anthony is trying to give Edith the brush off though not very successfully.

Isn't it awful how easily people considered themselves "crippled" in those days? It wouldn't be acceptable to put yourself on the scrap heap now and compared to so many of the injured veterans from the war. He got off lightly.

Meanwhile, Daisy is still trying to tell Mr Mason the truth, but she can't quite manage to do it.

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:26

Sir Pilchard is cross and suspicious of Matthew and Mary together. Matthew overhears them rowing again and intervenes.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:27

Mr Mason is such a nice man he manages to avoid Daisy telling him what he doesn't want to hesr

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:27

Plans afoot for a day out to Mr Bates trial and to join the "Bucking up Brigade""

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:29

I'm going to be slightly fair to Sir Pilchard for just a few seconds - he is having to put up with a lot of Mary and Matthew sharing moments, I can see why he's losing his patience.

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:30

Violet has got Rosamund's beau to admit he's short of money

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:31

Oh, dear. Everyone overheard that. Matthew can't help himself. He's promised Mary a home at Downton for the rest of her life. She won't tell him why she has to marry Sir Pilchard. Everyone knows that Mary and Matthew should be together.

Meanwhile down in the Servant's hall the ouija board is out - very funny!!!

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:33

Lord G asks Cora why Mary insists on marrying Sir Pilchard and Cora admits that there is a reason.....

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:34

...but he wasn't in his own bed!!!!

Magi84 · 05/03/2025 21:34

Oh dear Cora has to tell his Lordship why Mary "must" marry Sir R

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:34

Mrs Hughes and O'Brien have to appear as witnesses in Mr Bates trial. Very awkward.

Rhubarb01 · 05/03/2025 21:35

"Worse than she could possibly imagine"
