LOL I am loving the silent tables of boys

hippipotami · 07/05/2008 20:50

Oh, the non-talkative boys are sooo funny. That is very alien to me as I have an 8 year old boy who would talk the hind legs off a donkey!

DirtySexyMummy · 07/05/2008 20:52

My DS never stops talking.

ILIketoMarmiteMarmite · 07/05/2008 20:54

"You are living your life for all of them..."

Not the most healthy, I would think.

hippipotami · 07/05/2008 20:55

What happened to Helena's brother and sister? I can't remember. Was she one of triplets?

No my ds never stops talking either takes after his Mum

Anchovy · 07/05/2008 21:00

Bugger - only caught the end - is it going to be repeated?

CrackerOfNuts · 07/05/2008 21:04

I love this programme as Dd2 is the same age.

In the talking experiment, Ds would have talked the ears off any of the other kids, boy or girl.

I always end up feeling sorry for rhiannah, and think her mum probably tells her too much.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 07/05/2008 21:12

anchovy - I missed most of it too but you can watch it on your PC from BBC site.

Was the Scottish family (who's granny had died) the ones that had lived on a remote island doing 'eco art' (or summat)?

squilly · 07/05/2008 21:14

love this. It's based on kids around same age as my daughter.

She hates Bratz btw and always has. I've never tried to influence her, she just loathes them.

She did like Barbie for a while and I hated it, but didn't fight it. Sure enough, she grew out of it.

Just watching this on Skeyplus now...Rhianna is making me cry.

Anchovy · 07/05/2008 21:21

I know Duchess, but was trying to spare me and DH huddling round the laptop when we have a nice big plasma screen

Can't find any info on the website or on the Sky+ search thingy, darn it.

Whizzz · 07/05/2008 21:27

I sniffled when Helenas mum was telling her not to be sad about the brother & sister she lost

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 07/05/2008 21:31

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo....I missed it. Is it repeated? Is this the only prog or are there a few?

CocodeBear · 07/05/2008 21:31

Me too.

Has made me think about gender stereotypes a bit.

Eg I put DD in a fairy costume and think oh, how sweet .

She thinks, so, this is what being a girl is all about?

JeremyVile · 07/05/2008 21:35

gOD. Dunno names but the dour blonde mum who's dh wears the alice band!
She's thought to hersels 'right, I'm going to use this prog to utterly humiliate my useless husband'

No wonder their daughter is a miserable so and so...

Heathcliffscathy · 07/05/2008 21:37

can someone summarise the content of this programme for me so i don't feel i've massively missed out?

JeremyVile · 07/05/2008 21:38

Boys want to be ganfsters, goirls want to be thin.
