January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

!

I agree that scene with David in the police interview was ridiculous, David is pretty savvy. And the police do not have enough (any) evidence to arrest anyone. Kit and Swain seem to think the CPS works on 'vibes'.

That's the entire problem with these 'explosive' storylines - a fortnight later everything is back to the status quo, no one has paid.

zanahoria · 07/02/2025 08:22

The worst thing about Abi is that she just left Toyah and ran. I can see how she is being portrayed as a woman haunted by her past but this was just cowardly and inhumane. Kev's behaviour was despicable too, he has no right to be bothering the victim let alone pressurizing her into 'dropping the complaint'. He was just as bad when Jack was up for arson, telling his son about how proud he was of him in dealing the court case. The family has had difficulties but everytime they cope with it by lashing out and committing crimes and telling each other how righteous and noble they all are.

CellophaneFlower · 07/02/2025 08:51

The worst thing for me was that Abi seemed to semi come to her senses, then panic and run, but first put Toyah's head back down in all that glass!

Abi is just like Lauren's character. Turned her life around but they keep throwing shit at her.

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2025 08:52

It is really bizarre how the writers insist that we side with Abi and her crimes.

Michael LeVell looks so unwell now, it's a shame. But I'm glad they are sticking with Kev as he is a good character despite the Abi worship.

I like Sally and Tim together, but IMO they should not have split up Kev and Sal, and they should have had at least one of the girls return.

I would love to have seen either of them with their fabulous Auntie Debbie, preferably working at the hotel

CellophaneFlower · 07/02/2025 09:05

I've just remembered that years ago on the corrie tour the guide pointed out that the factory stair rail (I think) is painted red as whenever they have a fire somewhere they do that as a nod to it. I remember thinking at the time there'd been loads of fires and I didn't recall much red 🤷‍♀️. Practically everywhere's been up in flames now so by all accounts the whole street should be scarlet 🙈

Wonder if the Platts will get a new red sofa 🤔

MonickerMonica · 07/02/2025 09:09

I understand the two Webster daughters (actresses) may not want to return but the writers pop new heads onto people willy nilly but haven't thought of Sally/Kev's now adult daughters coming back even for brief visits. They get a tiny mention every few years but blink and you miss it. It's almost like they never existed.

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2025 09:18

I will look out for a red sofa now you've said that Cellophane!

I agree I would have expected them to recast at least one of the girls by now. New-head-Todd has been brilliant so it can work really well.

eggandonion · 07/02/2025 09:19

They should have been allowed to keep Mason. Rosie appears in hairdresser magazines every so often, but not Sophie or Faye.

CellophaneFlower · 07/02/2025 09:31

I'm surprised Rosie and Sophie haven't popped back now and then. I don't think either of them have really continued acting have they, so not as though they're worried about being typecast or anything.

Family life is obviously busy for them but having grown up on the street you'd assume the opportunity to stroll down memory lane now and then would be appealing to them 🤷‍♀️

aspidernamedfluffy · 07/02/2025 09:43

I was thinking about the Rosie/Sophie absence. If Kev is diagnosed with cancer then surely 1 or both of "the girls" should make a return (with or without new heads) at least for a little while. Most adult DC (unless they are NC with their parents), would want to be there to support a parent going through cancer wouldn't they?

eggandonion · 07/02/2025 09:49

Absolutely.

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2025 10:03

They have never met Abi, it would provide some good drama to see them interacting with her - and of course with Auntie Debbie. 😎

MonickerMonica · 07/02/2025 10:05

I can't even recall Rosie and Sophie being mentioned as married or having children. If the writers want to introduce new characters and stories then there are readymade realistic opportunities with Sal and Kev's girls. Webster grandchildren don't seem to have been considered 🫤

Shellingbynight · 07/02/2025 10:11

They would rather foist Lauren and Frankie upon us rather than bring back characters with a long history and loads of connections to the street.

Neither have continued acting but both seem to do OK by appearing in magazines, reality tv shows and whatever and both of them married footballers.

zanahoria · 07/02/2025 10:20

We need to see Sophie officiously wandering around the Chariot Square Hotel with a clipboard like she used to do at the garage while Rosie does vacuous promotions there. Plenty of scope for interactions with what ever residents have popped over for a quick illicit shag.

eggandonion · 07/02/2025 10:40

I think Rosie and footballer are separated, she was looking sad in a magazine. I can update in March when I'm back in the hairdresser.
It would be handy for Sally or Kevin to go and mind grandkids with chicken pox.
Rosie is the same age as David? And look at his amazing family.

NCTDN · 07/02/2025 10:40

There's been no mention of Sally and Tim's house. Surely that would have also suffered some fire damage?

eggandonion · 07/02/2025 10:42

Definitely smoke damage, we had a local fire which badly damaged the other half of the semi. Platt house can be sorted late February I should think.
Martin should come and check everyone's OK, or Jesse. Or both.

Rosie actress popped up on Celebs go Dating recently.

I don't even remember Wosies name in real life.

There are always more footballers!

Perhaps she could be married to one on Corrie too

They divorced a few years ago I think.

Neither footballer was a particularly amazing one as professional footballers go.
