January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

!

Another thing... is that garage cctv footage really proof that Abi didn't do it? As far as I can tell, they don't know the jerry can taken was actually used. I mean obviously it was, but they don't know for sure at this point.

And who would commit a crime wearing such a distinctive hoody anyway? Yes, I'll go in black to be unnoticeable... except I'll have a massive motif displayed on my back 🤦‍♀️

I have never considered committing arson but if I did I would just buy my own petrol - nicking some from the local garage seems an unnecessary risk in the days when everyone has CCTV

Shellingbynight · 06/02/2025 10:18

If you didn't want to arouse suspicion you'd fill a jerry can at a petrol station when you filled you car. But you could use other accelerants, we probably have some BBQ lighter fluid somewhere, I assume that would work.

If David goes to jail, Harvey has no chance of getting his money and the money is surely his endgame.

zanahoria · 06/02/2025 10:36

I think Abi has some sort of immunity from prosecution, whatever she does she not only gets off but is turned into a paragon of virtue moralizing about other people's misdemeanors. She supplied the gun that killed Natasha but then lectures about kids carrying knives. The police seemed to forget she had been involved in another arson incident when she set fire to Ray Crosby's car. Even DS Swain who locked up Roy without a scrap of evidence turned into some sort of social worker. Kev is always on hand to preach to others about her hallowed status claiming she could not possibly have done things that she has done before and for some reason they listen. It seems absurd for Toyah to 'drop the complaint' calling security to have him removed would have been a better option.

MonickerMonica · 06/02/2025 11:02

🤔

Could someone have got into the garage and taken that petrol can intending Abi to get the blame knowing it would be on CCTV. Or am I talking balderdash?

I only write that because I've never said or written "balderdash" before and now I have. Aaaah I feel better now 😋

I agree it would be pointless for Harvey, so I doubt he's set David up for this/ arranged it - unless he's too thick to realise David would be no.1 suspect and thought he'd get the insurance money anyway.

Everything does point to Logan though but it's far too obvious. I'm desperate to know who/what his "solid" alibi is though.

I think it could be Max, but he'd surely have to be written out if so... unless they manage to pin it on Logan anyway.

eggandonion · 06/02/2025 11:06

Toyah is a qualified counsellor and non judgemental I think.
I do wonder if actors have any input in character development. I assume they can remember who did what when. Because I have forgotten a lot ot it!

CellophaneFlower · 06/02/2025 11:12

I did laugh that Tracy and Leanne's sisterhood is over already though 😂

JellyBeanFactory · 06/02/2025 11:14

@CellophaneFlower I agree, I think it's likely to Max. He gets an idea and without any thought, acts on it. He was in the conversation when David joked about burning the house down. Cue more wailing and sniffling from Lauren.

As for Abi, I used to like her but blimey, our Kev is a saint for keeping on defending her.

Tracy is the gift that keeps on giving!

Does Max know that David nicked the money to buy the house and desperately needs it back ?

If so then it does look likely to be him

CellophaneFlower · 06/02/2025 11:51

I can't recall if it's been shown but he surely must know? He'd have asked why they're being targeted and have had to leave.

I don't think Harvey cares about the money. But he does like having people under his control. He's probably resigned to the fact he don't get his £10k back so will have David doing all his shitty jobs. He's already been a getaway driver so he's crossed the line.

Yes Max does know! I hadn't even considered Max but I think you have a very good point here.

If it is him David and Shona will tell everyone 'he is a good kid really'

Shona was annoying last night when she was giving Nick a hard time for rather responsibly handing evidence to the police.

PrincessScarlett · 06/02/2025 12:58

If it is Max it will be very disappointing. I wanted him and Lauren to have their happy ending. Obviously never possible in soaps nowadays.

Was it really only 10k? I thought it was loads more than that!

It must have been PC Craigy's night off as I didn't see him when the fire was raging. Maybe too much for him to handle. He's usually just around the corner and in uniform at the first sign of bother.

@Shellingbynight
Kev's grimy lilac bomber jacket never got washed in all those years. I know it 😄 but Jenny's donations idea at the pub to help the homeless Platts may produce the aforementioned article and I can just see David in it 🕺

Perhaps it will feature in modern Corrie and classic Corrie in the same week

Anonym00se · 06/02/2025 13:17

Someone needs to tell Sam that the best time for a chess lesson isn’t when a person has just come round from brain surgery. Why didn’t Toyah just tell him to piss off?

zanahoria · 06/02/2025 13:22

I was confused why Leanne was in the frame for starting the fire after Abi fessed up to attacking Toyah.

The chances of anyone explaining to Sam that he is annoying little know-it-all are slim

Oh I'm not sure now as he used it to buy the house didn't he. I could have sworn there was a conversation where David said Harvey had doubled the debt to £20k but could be mistaken.

PrincessScarlett · 06/02/2025 13:26

zanahoria · 06/02/2025 13:22

Because Leanne threw a bottle of vodka at Toyah going into the house, blacked out and woke up with a box of matches in her pocket. She asked Steve for an alibi as she couldn't remember but he then went and told Tracey who blabbed to everyone else making Leanne look guilty.

There are no proper friendships anymore, remember Liz and Deirdre and Sally and Gail, Carla and Michelle to name a few, none of them have close friends anymore all the characters are either insular or bitter enemies.

It is a shame as they were the back bone of the programme and needed even more when we know marriages never last.

I used to like Steve and Lloyd being proper mates

Now we just have Steve and Tim having childish squabbles.

Oh I love steve and Tim 😳 I always think they have a proper brother-like relationship, always bickering and trying to get one over on each other but they love each other really and have each other's backs when it matters.

I did so love when Sally banned Tim from seeing Steve and them sneaking around like they were having an affair 😂

Totally agree. And when 2 women finally do become proper mates, they end up in bed 🙄😂
