January flew by in the blink of an eye
Leanne and Steve are getting close
Cassie is drugging Ken day after day
Dose after dose after dose

Abi witnessed Mason's very sad death
She's struggling to keep it together
Carla and Swain are still an item
I wonder if they'll last forever

Bethany and Daisy are always at war
Over Daniel I know what a surprise
Gemma and Chesney are off on a trip
And Nick and Toyah are making us roll our eyes

Kevin may have cancer that's all that he needs
But Tim and Sally seem sound
Amy seems troubled I hope she's OK
And with Leanne and Tracey, mischief is abound

David and Shona are always on their toes
Scared of Harvey's heavies coming at them
Eva has left, will a few more will leave soon?
Will things be quite different by the next full moon?

All the old regulars don't appear much these days
Or any funny storylines or good feeling
It's just like The Bill with all convicts and thugs
And crime and violence that just leaves us reeling

Daisy is pregnant but who's the daddy
She doesn't seem to want to know
I wonder if we'll ever know or she'll keep it a secret
Now that she's decided she is going to keep it!

DeeDee's still pregnant I think but she's gone quiet
Lauren's been cleared of her 'crime.'
Debbie's still sassy, and Ronnie's still sexy
And Kit is in Corrie all the time!

!

Here we go. Quick google search says this.

"Jimmi Harkishin is leaving Coronation Street for a short period because he is taking a break to travel, with the departure confirmed as a temporary absence and not a permanent exit from the soap opera; this is reportedly to mark his 25th anniversary year on the show."

He will be back later in the year. Smile

Ooh lucky old Jimi. (Thanks for the info.)

strugglingwithlife · 14/02/2025 23:02

I don't like this new character Gemma has befriended

JewelleryCat · 14/02/2025 23:11

So he’s travelling to celebrate him being on Corrie for 25 years? It’s been that long?

zanahoria · 14/02/2025 23:22

MichaelAndEagle · 14/02/2025 19:50

How old is Max supposed to be? 17/18? As if you'd let him go off on the run!

I never get this on the run malarky

What happened to Claire and her kids who went to France about fifteen years ago?

zanahoria · 14/02/2025 23:24

Wishimaywishimight · 14/02/2025 20:56

Sam is a sanctimonious, judgmental pain in the arse. He turned his back on Leanne in the blink of an eye, switching his loyalty to Toyah who had an affair with her brother in law.

Leanne is flawed for sure but she was his step mum and they were close. If I were Leanne I would stop grovelling to Sam (and would be tempted to tell him to get stuffed!).

I hate this idea that Sam is some sort of font of wisdom. It was bad enough when he as just parroting stiff from Wikipedia.

Claire, Ashley’s wife went on the run? I don’t remember that

strugglingwithlife · 15/02/2025 08:47

I don't remember that either

JewelleryCat · 15/02/2025 09:15

strugglingwithlife · 15/02/2025 08:47

Unless it was a different Claire but I don’t remember a different Claire either

MissDeborah · 15/02/2025 10:19

Claire Peacock assaulted Tracey who went into a coma
She fled abroad with her 2 sons
For some reason I can never hear the name Claire without hearing it in Ashley's voice "Clooor"😂

zanahoria · 15/02/2025 10:25

Nabbed this from Wikipedia

On New Year's Eve, Tracy is attacked in her back yard and left in a coma with serious head injuries. After Becky is arrested and questioned for the assault, Claire confesses that she attacked Tracy as she was frustrated with the way she had insulted Ashley and wanted to stand up to her bullying and show Tracy that she could not push her around. Claire tells her sons she loves them before going to the police station and confessing to attacking Tracy. Claire is released on bail and Steve, Becky and Ashley's employee at the shop, Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) advise her to leave the country to avoid going to prison. Graeme obtains false passports for her and the boys and when the police come looking for her, Steve, Becky, Graeme, Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan), Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan), Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) and Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) help her evade them by setting a decoy. After the police give up and leave, Jason drives Claire, Joshua and Freddie to the airport so they can get a flight as they leave Weatherfield for France

The next day, Eileen receives a phonecall from Claire who tells her that she and the boys had arrived safely. After she is discharged from hospital, Tracy, who wanted revenge on Claire for attacking her, overhears Becky speaking to Claire on her mobile phone two weeks later. Tracy demands to know where Claire is and Becky refuses to tell her of her whereabouts and gleefully explains that Claire is not coming back

zanahoria · 15/02/2025 11:26

I remember that plot as it was the dawn of Corrie becoming really silly and crime obsessed. Tracy had been let out of prison and the hitherto mousie Claire ended up bashing her on the head then became a fugitive from justice shortly after Ashley died in the tram crash too.

She then fled to France, which is obviously out of range of British justice.

It was the same Claire but they managed to completely transform her character for the plot.

MonickerMonica · 15/02/2025 11:41

Ashley died in the tram crash?! I'd forgotten all about that. 🙄

Thinking aloud here but wonder if that was the end of the actor's career. He was the wimpiest of wimps was our Ashley. Off to Google him now. Yes I mght get a life soon 😄

strugglingwithlife · 15/02/2025 11:46

I had completely forgotten about all of that, but now you've posted I vaguely remember it

He has been in a couple of Hollywood blockbusters and tipped to the next James Bond

I really don’t remember that plot so I’ll look out for it on Classic Corrie whenever it gets to it

Errrrr..... he's handsome enough but that voice....😕

I just read that he no longer acts but obviously felt at home in a butchers shop as he's now a real life butcher 😱

It's not April Fools Day yet either.

I guess how Kelvin Fletcher in Emmerdale played a farmer and now he’s a real life farmer

Shellingbynight · 15/02/2025 13:41

I had completely forgotten Claire lamping Tracey. But oddly enough on Classic now (2005) the two of them are daggers drawn as Tracey is really laying into Claire, I think it started with a squabble about child care (Tracey's lack of it!) and escalated. So I suppose Claire hating Tracey enough to do that makes some sense. Tracey’s main hobby back then was making everyone’s life a misery.

Shellingbynight · 15/02/2025 15:46

I just watched Wednesday's episode and I agree about the Debbie and Abi art scenes, brilliant. Debbie is an absolute star. I also liked the scenes with Sal and Kevin, they should never have split them up.

Sam as Yoda - nope.

It's a shame they are wasting Rob on such dross.

I didn't care where Max went, as long as he went. But we're still stuck with Lauren.🙁

strugglingwithlife · 15/02/2025 16:23

Debbie is brilliant, definitely one of my favourite characters

eggandonion · 15/02/2025 17:32

I think Lauren is going to hang round weeping and prison visiting unless Max is moved far away.
Debbie needs a lovely romance, and lots of laughs. Live love laugh!

zanahoria · 15/02/2025 20:45

I want to see Debbie give Abi a makeover, lend her some of her fabulous outfits.
