New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

I can confirm that Frankie is not Freddie's mum. Don't ask me how I know, I can't tell ya!

Yeah we know it's not exactly top secret

Slightly off-topic for this thread, but I have just learned the most random thing ever: John Bercow (the former speaker of the House of Commons) was a contestant on series 2 of the American version of The Traitors.

I watched that series on iplayer. I remember some of the other players talking about him and one was saying how impressive he was for such an old man. The other then said something like “I don’t think he’s that old. I think British people just don’t get Botox.” Killed me.

I thought it was a bit odd that she joked about going on safari and then not needing IVF. Ie a holiday would get her pregnant.

If someone said I should just go on holiday while we were going through IVF I would gladly have murdered them. There’s not much a holiday will do for stage 4 endometriosis

TBF I’ve heard people say going on holiday is like an old wives tale for increasing pregnancy chances, it may be true in regular circumstances but presumably because there’s lots of shagging.

Leanne really exposed herself last night. Me, me, me. My head. Even her sob story was about wanting to experience pregnancy properly after a scary time with her twins.

Alexander by contrast… and I knew he’d have a charity, because he’s clearly posh totty, but it was very moving when he talked about his brother looking up to him. His description of his parents and his brother was so measured and honest too.

and I love him even more for falling in the hedge. Hopefully it put the rest of you off. Less competition 🤣

Yes I agree about Leanne and it’s not like Charlotte, who has no children and is married to a man so would expect to not have to go through IVF, Leanne HAS two kids, her need for a third isn’t that noble IMO.

Oh need to watch that - John Bercow shouting order order when things get heated at the round table

No, I really don’t think anyone would lie about this

Yeah but who would lie about being Welsh too 😂

Hmm, bit offensive to us Welsh! Daffodil

happinessischocolate · 19/01/2025 00:46

Not at all, I'd say the same if she pretended to be from Dorset....who would do that 🤷‍♀️😂

Leanne’s reason to have another baby just seemed to be so she could experience a full term pregnancy. Nothing about anyone else. And perhaps I’m being simple here but assuming that she’s fertile then can it not just be a turkey baster job?

Yep, well probably IUI which is the same thing done medically. When I had my IVF it was only funded in my area if you had 6 rounds of IUI first (unless there was a medical reason why IUI wasn't suitable). I've never really understood why so many F/F couples seem to jump straight to IVF when there is a cheaper much less invasive process available.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Apologies!

BeaLola · 19/01/2025 01:00

Something that bugged me (but I may have fallen asleep and missed it) is why Charlotte didn't have to take the Traitors oath ?

I found it strange as for me the purpose of getting pregnant was to have a healthy baby, not to go through the horrors of pregnancy, especially the last couple of months/weeks when it gets really uncomfortable to put it mildly.

She reminded me a bit of people who want the wedding more than the marriage!

But I haven't been through the trauma of giving birth early, prior to 30 weeks, so maybe that's why I don't get it

TheMadGardener · 19/01/2025 02:05

People I would like to win:
Alexander
Minah

People I don't mind if they win:
Freddie
Charlotte
Frankie

People I really don't want to win anything:
Leanne
Joe
Jake

Unfortunately on reality shows it's usually the people I least want to win who end up winning.
There's too much suspicion around Minah now unfortunately for her to win.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 19/01/2025 04:52

Outing
I had placenta praevia and went into premature pre labour (28 & 30 weeks) that was managed to be stopped. And lots of bleeding throughout pregnancy and in and out of hospital from 22 weeks. Dc born at 36 weeks. Several miscarriages then dc 2. At no point did I have dc 2 to experience a full time normal pregnancy! I didn’t get that anyway, as almost lost dc2, but it was never uppermost in my mind.

Edit: agree with that @TheMadGardener

No, it’s well known that it’s harder to conceive if mentally or physically there is tension or worry. Any alternative therapist knows that.

thismotherhoodthing · 19/01/2025 07:39

I just can't understand why none of them seem to be thinking about who could have been recruited. They've lost two traitors so surely they know there's a good chance they've recruited unless there were 4 to begin with. Lisa seems to be the only one who was thinking in this way. Just because someone was a faithful yesterday doesn't mean they are today. I think I'd probably be suspecting Jake (although obvs would be wrong) and probably Charlotte. Maybe even Frankie - again wrong. If Minah can subtly get people to think along these lines she could maybe turn it around. Unfortunately think it might be too late for her

Sillimee · 18/01/2025 18:17

Can someone please explain to me in very simple language 😂 how a role of "the seer" would work?

From what I read in the Metro etc this person would find out who is a traitor and who is a faithful? So how is that going to help, wouldn't they just be like, guys I've got the special power and these people are the traitors?

Even if they weren't allowed to say they had the special power, if everyone knows a twist is coming and suddenly one player is very sure of who the traitors are, surely that's going to be pretty hectic?

Does anyone know?

YesYesKitten · 19/01/2025 08:17

Any clues/spoilers in the Sunday papers or is it too locked down?

JaneAustensHeroine · 19/01/2025 08:21

It’s rather lovely isn’t it that so many people want Alexander to win.

In that respect he really has won because he’s come across as a decent, intelligent and compassionate person on national television. That really is a win!

YesYesKitten · 19/01/2025 08:24

I want Minah to win. Alexander hasn't done enough to find a traitor. Admittedly he joined in late.

The hedge smedge

He's clearly a good and intelligent bloke who can laugh at himself.

myplace · 19/01/2025 08:46

He is. Happy sigh. I like knowing there are Alexanders out there. The Leannes are so much more visible!

myplace · 19/01/2025 08:47

His work history is interesting. Along with diplomat we have teacher and I think volunteering as a carer on the Mencap holidays.

I would say he has contributed plenty at the round table, as a faithful. Just because he hasn't named any traitors yet, it doesn't mean he's not doing anything.

It goes without saying that he was the most involved along with Frankie in the creepy doll challenge, and he did more than his fair share in the pillar and heads challenge.

Out of the faithfuls, I'd like him most to win.

I would like Minah to win over Charlitte, so I hope it's just producers deliberately misleading us about Minah being trusting of Charlotte!

Lentilweaver · 19/01/2025 08:50

I hope next year they dont have the stupid get off train thing. Nobody would, I think!
