New thread for Episode 9!

And now (no expense spared)... here are ScruffMuffin's very unofficial Traitors Bingo Cards. No expense spared! Feel free to pick a colour (white, blue, pink, green or yellow) and play along tonight. We'll be playing here! Of course, you could use the excellent chart already supplied by another poster on the previous thread instead.

HOUSE RULES
If you hear something very similar to, but not identical to, the words on your chosen card, the other people in the room get to decide if it's close enough. If you're watching on your own, mark as you see fit.

Have fun!

Just caught up on Uncloaked and the bonus Uncloaked. I agree that Lisa looked so different. She made it sound that she was playing a character and I think she dressed a as someone would expect an older female vicar to dress. It has the double of making you a trusted person and also a motherly character.

I love that Alexander didn’t want to get the women gunked in the game where they poured stuff over people as he didn’t want to mess up their hair. How is he single?

Can someone post a pict because my googling is only bringing up pics of Diane from last year

Indeed how is such a man single?

Me too! It's been driving me nuts.
I'm sure she's been on TV before but I don't know in what capacity.

My family always say that I've been saying that from the start!

I'm convinced I've seen her before

She reminds me of Sarah Lancashire

Snowmanscarf · 18/01/2025 18:48

After the statue challenge, I think Alexander has gained more respect in the camp. He was obviously a team player and helped others.

Barbie Army carried across her shoulders (like in the army) and was fast - why did no- one notice this?

Maybe he’s gay

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 18/01/2025 18:53

He may be. But Claudia said he’s single so the point remains, whatever his sexual orientation.

dapsnotplimsolls · 18/01/2025 19:24

He was single when it was filmed, not necessarily still single!

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 18/01/2025 19:33

Very true!

Perhaps but still no reason to be single.

There’s always the US version to look forward to.

It’s truly awful. The NZ and OZ versions are much better.

Have you been watching it on Peacock?
I’ve never even heard of that channel.
I’ll watch it when it lands on iPlayer next week.

I found the first series very different, as the contestants were awful, but I did enjoy the gameplay and Alan Cummings.

Seen three episodes of this year's US one. It's absolutely batshit. I'm not sure i like anyone, so many are testosterone and ego driven, the others just have big egos. It's is definitely, erm, lively.

It's weird though the way they are all - well just about all - have been on reality shows, some multiple shows. Makes it different when they "know" people - in fact some actually do know each other as they were on the same reality show together. Alan Cumming is a disappointment, (though his outfits are mental), very over the top and it just doesn't need him adding to the madness.

I will continue to watch, naturally.

Frankie is married isn't she? I thought I read somewhere she had (re)married. Will have to try and search it out.

Anyways my musings for next week. If traitors are going to win Minah absolutely deserves to be there for that win. In my view it's a flaw in the game if Charlotte gets to set herself up as a clear faithful for the first 50% of the series, then can switch sides, evade detection as a traitor and throw the OG traitor under the bus to sweep the money.

So with that in mind a dream scenario would be...

Wed - Jake is murdered and Leanne is banished
Thursday - Joe is murdered to leave the final 5 as Minah, Charlotte, Alex, Frankie and Freddie. As Joe was murdered they know there is a traitor among them. Minah and Charlotte go all out on each other as there is minimal suspicion on the others. Alex and Frankie decide it's Charlotte and she is banished. They decide to end the game and Minah wins.

My absolute dream scenario is that the traitors are somehow offered a way to recruit and recruit Alex. He is unwilling to push Minah out as she has most of the work so he diplomatises Charlotte to choose to share or be banished by them and she decides to share with them. But I can't see how the recruitment could be offered this late.

Hmm… I think if Minah were to win, she would need Leanne, Jake and Leon (doh) in the final with her. I don’t think any of them have seriously suspected her. The others - Frankie, Alexander, Joe and Freddie - all have, at various points, so I don’t think they would take the risk of allowing her to stay to share the money. If Minah were aware of this - and I don’t think she is in Joe’s case - she would murder Joe, hope one of the others who suspect her is banished, and then hope force of numbers gets her the money. But I think she has murdered Jake.

In Charlotte’s favour, I don’t think any of those guys suspect her - she seems close with Frankie, Alexander and Joe. Of course, it could all change. For Minah’s sake, I hope so

I watched the first US series on iplayer. I gave up pretty quickly. Lots of extremely loud and arrogant people . I hated Cummings in it. He makes it all about him and he’s way over the top.

He has the worst fake Scottish accent ever. Why he couldn’t use his actual Scottish accent I don’t know.

And me! I thought the programme had actively chosen a famous person to join the show at first.

Charlotte must be Chrissie Hynde's daughter (if she has one) Although CH is pretty old now. But she reminds me of her so much.

I’m glad you weren’t talking about series 2 being different to series 1.

Find it hard to believe someone as attractive as Frankie lacks in confidence as she says she does.

I get Alexander is posh totty but doesn't falling into a hedge whilst chasing a shuttlecock give you the MN ick???

He really hams it up for the US market Grin

CharityShopChic · 18/01/2025 21:11

I don't like the US one either. Using people who have already been on reality TV is a mistake, IMHO.

In real life Alan Cumming is nothing like his Traitors persona, he's softly spoken and quite unassuming, he is most definitely playing a part. And it's what the American audiences want, loads of tartan and bagpipes and roamin' in the gloamin' - they all watch Outlander and think it's a historical documentary.
