Where are people watching other series?

They are all on iplayer.

Doubleraspberry · 07/01/2025 13:33

Go Australia over the US if you're starting on the worldwide versions.

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 07/01/2025 14:02

Oh that's a shame - i don't have access to iPlayer.

NonPlayerCharacter · 07/01/2025 14:03

A lot are available on DailyMotion.

The Australian series I watched was strange because the venue was so downmarket but the faithful were much better at working it out. Which shows it can be done. (Although I still think the odds are stacked in the traitors’ faithful so much that it spoils it.)

Doubleraspberry · 07/01/2025 15:11

There's a second Aus series which I think you need to watch!

WallaceinAnderland · 07/01/2025 16:01

The biggest flaw in this show is that there is actually no point in catching a traitor.

There is no advantage to the remaining players except perhaps that they might get recruited and have more power in the game. So anyone rejoicing at sending home a traitor must secretly want to be a traitor themselves. Which is all of them.

Piggywaspushed · 07/01/2025 16:05

I didn't like the Oz ones but NZ Traitors was enjoyable. That is currently on iPlayer I believe.

Yes, it’s much more sensible gameplay to figure out who the Traitors are as early as possible and then keep them in until close to the end.

FuckItItsFine · 07/01/2025 16:48

I think it’s also slightly easier to spot a recruited Traitor as they might start acting differently from how they acted when they were Faithful and you know them better at that point to see the difference in behaviour.

WallaceinAnderland · 07/01/2025 17:04

Yes but then why vote them out. It's not an advantage to players to catch traitors until near the end as they just get replaced.

Whether a traitor or a faithful goes makes no difference to the rest of the players. It's always the pool of faithfuls that gets smaller, not traitors.

I just caught up with the 3 episodes yesterday.
Got to be honest, I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as last year's offering. Last year was a masterpiece. Better than the year before, which I also binged last year before catching up with series 2 to be in sync with the nation. But, it's early days, so I'll stick with it. So far, series 2 best, series 1 second, and series 3 a bit rubbish. But, obviously many on this thread disagree, and that's fine. Personal taste. I'll report back on Wednesday!

I watched S1, but missed S2.

I think I briefly saw who won S2 so have been waiting to forget that before I watch S2! 🤣

I have a vague idea who it was but can’t picture them.

Just re-watching Ep3 although I'm supposed to be working and Armani's misguided confidence in how she's owning Traitorhood is very funny, especially during the breakfast (which I also normally skip).
She was just so sure of herself going undetected she was giving having a go at Minah and Linda for "not doing enough". 😆
Brilliant 👌

At least she was loyal and she tried to deflect discussion away from Linda.

Pumpkincozynights · 06/01/2025 19:36

I can kind of see why Charlotte has done what she has, although how she can keep up with the fake accent Lord only knows.
People do make assumptions based on accents and when she speaks in her real accent she sounds posh. People then think a posh accent means intelligent. Intelligent guarantees you are a target to be both murdered and banished. Just look at Kas Shiiman 🤣.

This is so true. Ever since I moved from London to a town with a very specific accent, it's been "posh" voice = up myself = clearly untrustworthy. That's from junior school onwards. If I was on the show I'd go full Somerset just to avoid the posh penalty elimination.

Edit to add that I'm so far from posh it's unreal.

Pumpkincozynights · 07/01/2025 17:41

Yes the best gameplay would be to fathom out who the traitors are and try and keep them in. The danger with this is that you get murdered.
The other danger is that you banish a faithful and then get banished yourself for banishing a faithful!

Not sure if it is the best gameplay. If there's three or four traitors and one or two faithfuls at the end the chances of winning as a faithful are extremely low. Traitors will just banish the faithfuls.

Might need to watch all available series of Traitors to see the different attempts.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 07/01/2025 17:58

I second listening to The Rest is Entertainment. As they say, it is a flawed game, but so watchable.

From what I've seen in various seasons, when there is more than one Traitor at the end, they're much more likely to banish other Traitors. They can have as many Faithfuls in as they like, they'll still win, but the fewer Traitors left, the more money they get.

It gets progressively harder to be a Traitor. It's probably good to start Faithful and be recruited, unless you only get recruited as cannon fodder, which seems to be how it often goes.

We’ve definitely discussed in previous year how the POC are often our first and no one left in the final.

Armani
So far

Hmmmmm. Not sure this is a fair representation.

2 murdered so far have been POC, but as 2 of the 3 Traitors are POC I'm not sure of the relevance.

3 banished so far, and 1 was POC so % wise more non POC so far?

Also, round the table POC have voted for POC and the opposite too.

I've not counted the total split of the entire group admittedly but I'm not seeing what you are aluding to in your post.

For another Traitors fix, Richard and Marina talk about the show on today’s podcast. Really interesting to here them talk about the show from a production point of view as well as from a fan perspective: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-rest-is-entertainment/id1718287198?i=1000682943605

i thought it was interesting when they were talking about how the characters get banished/ murdered first so it just results in boring players who don’t contribute much remaining in. That point has been raised on here a few times!

It’s not about the producers, they did well to select 2 POC as traitors and they have a good mixture of ethnicities in the show.

It’s the prejudice and the bias (whether conscious or unconscious) shown by the contestants that’s difficult to watch every season, although it does give a microcosm view of the UK as a whole.

Can you not see the group circling around on Kasim? Same thing happened to Imran in season 1.

I wonder what nebulous reason they’ll find to get rid of Fozia (Muslim woman in hijab) when and if she joins.

slightlydistrac · 07/01/2025 20:29

They are circling round Kasim because he's the high status bloke there, and the frustrated and thwarted 'Alphas' want him out.

Armani was banished not because she is a POC because everyone thought she was a Traitor, and they were right.

Edited

Based on the facts, so far, there's no evidence of any bias.

I do think it's unfair to hint the contestants in this show are making selections based on race.

The data does not back your theory.

loveawineloveacrisp · 07/01/2025 21:31

Armani was banished because she was fucking annoying and gave herself away by being too hobby.
