So many women pregnant, is there something in the water?
Wonder if they'll have a son or a daughter?
Joel's story lingers on, that's really too bad.
And now we have to put up with his mum and his dad.

Lauren's gonna do time, I wonder how long.
I guess she deserves it as she has done wrong.
Gail's gonna leave soon, after 50 whole years.
It'll be such a shame, there will many tears!

Bethany's putting on a brave face, though she's had a tough ride.
Daniel's still boring, and Kit's always snide.
Daisy's always got a snooty little pout.
And looks like she might just knock someone out..

Toyah and Nick have been secretly smooching.
Leanne knows all about it though, as she's always mooching.
Debbie's so funny, and Eileen's so droll
And Roy, a real favourite, is one of the best characters of all

Carla and Swain are getting quite close.
Not such a secret now, and nearly everyone knows.
Mason the baddie has gone quite good.
And Betsy always acts like she's Queen of the Hood!

Not much more to review for now.
But it's happy new year to us all.
I wonder how the Corrie cast will celebrate?
I bet they will have a ball.

If Nick & Toyah hadn't had the fire blanket at hand, what should they have used to put out the toaster fire? Just wondering what I should have done - we don't have one!

We were taught at school to use a damp tea towel for chip pan fires, to cover it. You have to cut off the oxygen as fast as you can.

I have a fire blanket, beside the wine rack. Dh didn't know that. So I can toast his passport and he wouldn't have known what to do.

Yes. That's what I'd thought. Toyah was concerned that Nick could electrocute himself by switching off the plug (which is what I'd have done) so I was wondering what else could be done. Maybe we should get a fire blanket. After watching This is Us I got my husband to check our smoke alarms!

I would use a wooden or plastic implement-wooden spoon to turn off the plug

Especially after Leanne pinched Toyah's passport previously plus I would have changed the locks as Leanne couldn't be trusted

Oh I thought she didn't want to know. Either way it's a bad move from her - the father has a right to know. The time for judging whether they were fit enough to be a dad was probably before she had unprotected sex with both of them!

I thought the passports in the toaster was hilarious at first but subsequent events and obvious possibilities are too awful to imagine.

As an aside I can't stand Nick's so predictable face. He can have worried eyes while at the same time have that wide joker type grin. ✈️ I wish he and Toyah would renew those passports and take flight never to be seen again.

Was leanne engaged to aliyahs dad but he died in a fire or did I imagine that?
There is so much death and destruction, playing around with Ryan is light relief.

How annoying. The only thing that kept me tuning in all week was finding out who the dad was!

I can't see that being the case. Why would Lauren have gone through the whole Joel fiasco, if there was a chance the baby wasn't his?

My problem with making Frankie Bobby's kid resulting from snuggling is that there would be extreme angst when Deedees baby isn't a match with Frankie. I can't deal with that potential drama.
I think the trauma of being walloped by Joel means that Lauren has forgotten the snuggling with Bobby.
Carla, Swain, Bobby, Lauren, Betsy, Ryan and Frankie would be an amazing blended family.

Oh no please no!! That might mean that the writers have reason to keep Bobby in the storylines.

I'd quite like him to go back to his Grandma. And stay there.

And somebody has already died that way in Corrie!

The wife of Eileen's fireman boyfriend - the one with Alzheimer's who was bizarrely living with them, probably sharing the sofa with Sean while her husband was at it with Eileen.

She put a toaster fire out with water from the tap

Then that was the end of her - rather conveniently for the fireman husband and Eileen.

At least he has stopped telling terrible jokes every time he is on screen
