My Dp’s mum is coming to stay for a few days over Xmas.

We need a film to watch without too much swearing, violence or sex. Last time she stayed we watch The Lady in The Van, which she loved.

Do not watch "bad santa" I mistakenly took my elderly dad to see this in the cinema and could have died

What we did on our holiday (though has Billy Connolly so maybe a bit too sweary).

Living (Bill Nighy).

Another vote for Mrs Harris Goes To Paris.

Hobbes8 · 21/12/2024 21:21

Literally the whole plot of Wicked Little Letters is about swearing.

Mrs Harris Goes to Paris was fab.

Mrs Harris Goes to Paris really does fit your bill and is quite recent. I think it's streaming on Netflix or available to rent on Prime or Google.

I'm saving the new Ted Danson thing on netflix, A Man on the Inside, to watch with my mum over Christmas. Looks light and funny.

Robertplantgoddess · 21/12/2024 23:51

The great escaper. Michael Caine. True story about the ex squaddie who left his nursing home to get to the dday remembrance. It's lovely

RogueFemale · 21/12/2024 23:53
