Didn't really understand the phenomenal change of heart by firefighter Sandie's parents to let Weaver have Henry as long as they could do the childcare whilst she was at work. Given that they couldn't even be in the same room practically in the last episode of the last series what happened to effect the personality change?

georginars · 11/01/2005 14:12

ooh can I join in - LOVE ER
So sad watching them scatter the baby's ashes - I watched the actual episode when the baby died whilst on a business trip to the US in April last year - on the very day I'd spent hours in a real ER with sudden bleeding at 9 and half weeks pregnant - on my own as I was on the trip on my own, completely horrible experience. So I was alone in my hotel room watching that and sobbed myself stupid of course as I still didn't know if I was losing the baby or not. However, the happy outcome of this story is 5 weeks old today and fast asleep in the other room. So watching ER made me feel so sad but lucky at the same time - ooh feel a bit tearful now just talking about it (could be the lack of sleep last night due to watching her scream of course)
And now, soppy story over, lets get back to drooling over Dr Kovac. Fwoargh! and glad it wasn't only me confused by Weaver suddenly getting Henry - what happened?

Fimbo · 11/01/2005 14:28

Glad everything worked out for you Georginars. Sam looks too young for Kovac. I want him and Abby to get back together, then again now Kem has left maybe her and Carter will get back together. Was Susan preggers in real life?

KateandtheGirls · 11/01/2005 14:39

So were Kovac and Abby once an item? (I've only been watching a couple of seasons.)

While googling Dr Kovac I found out that the actor that plays him is about 3 weeks younger than me - he's 32. I thought he was older than that. Not sure how old his character is supposed to be. I guess Sam is in her mid 20's?

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 14:45

Yes they were, kate. I can't believe you have only been watching a couple of seasons - that totally wipes out any claim you have to Kovac, I've been watching since Episode 1 (the Golden Days of George...ahhhhh)

Kovac and Abby never really rang true for me (but then Carter and Abby never did either - it's Abby I have a problem with I think). Kovac beat a mugger to death his and Abby's first date (as you do) and was a bit upset so Abby gave him a sympathy you-know-what but I don't think her heart was really in it.

I thought he was older than 32 too - he could still be my toy boy. Sam looks like a stroppy teenager to me: I don't like her.

Detecting a theme here of not liking ER women...I think I have a problem.

ks you need to get into Without a Trace then, as ER has replaced it in the 10 o'clock slot. Without a Trace was fab and had gorgeous mature hunk Mr Anthony LaPaglia starring.
Found the Kem/Carter storyline last night profoundly upsetting. That was us two and a half years ago and we opted NOT to receive the ashes from the crematorium as we could not imagine what to do with them. More parents than you might imagine choose this route. Too painful.
Otherwise very pleased to see everyone back, hopefully Gallant will reappear soon...

KateandtheGirls · 11/01/2005 15:14

KS, WHAT??????? How can you say that????

When I was working full time I had to get up at 5:45, and there was just no way I could watch any shows that ended at 11pm. Now that I get to sleep an hour later (in theory at least) I can manage to stay up till 11.

MM, I'm not forgetting that you gave Kovac to me. I don't care whether you were drunk at the time. The deal has been done.

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 16:07

I always found Gallant's hairline rather disturbing - it starts halfway up his forehead and is absolutely straight.

Ks - I'm with you, bring back George. Although I always really liked Anthony Edwards too (in an odd sort of way) and don't think its been the same since his demise.

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 16:17

That's one of my favourite ever episodes - the Shakespeare in Croatian one!

And the George Clooney wet-in-a-storm-drain-in-a-dinner-suit one. PHWOOOAAAARRRR!

Marina · 11/01/2005 16:17

Well I miss that tiny grumpy one who had a full head of hair and a sensitive outlook when he appeared in Fame. Gosh my memory is shot to pieces these days. Small chauvinist flattened by helicopter.
Gallant's hairstyle may be suspect but I think coiffure generally is not the ER production team's strong point.

Dr. Romano!

Of course he was in Fame - he had big, blonde hair didn't he? I never realised til you said that, marina!

Marina · 11/01/2005 16:21

Gallant is the very proper African American intern doing a stint in Iraq (Reserves I think). Big, kind, crush on Neela. Awww!
Poor old Romano. That ginger slob just doesn't do it for me on the ER "comedy" front.

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 16:21

Gallant is the terribly earnest one who went off to Eye-Rack because he is in the Army as well as being a doctor.

Marina · 11/01/2005 16:21

"Is it OK if I call you mine?" in a wispy little voice. Liked him much better as psychodoc!

cat82 · 11/01/2005 16:22

Marina- Lol at his description the small chauvanist you're thinking of is Robert Romano

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 16:22

Gallant

Marina · 11/01/2005 16:23

You know I am so glad that lovely pic was not of a bat, with or without prominent tackle. Thanks MM!

marthamoo · 11/01/2005 16:24

You are welcome. Tell me to go and make curry for dinner now please...someone....

albosmum · 11/01/2005 21:25
