I can't watch as I'm still playing Whamageddon! 😭

Me too. I loved that man.

TennisWithDeborah · 14/12/2024 20:59

See you all in September! Night night.

Appalonia · 14/12/2024 21:02

Vito ( and his trousers ) are trending on Twitter!😂

Samcro · 14/12/2024 21:02

So glad Chris won ,for him and Dianne

KimberleyClark · 14/12/2024 21:02

I’m over the moon for Dianne. What she has achieved is extraordinary. Chris obviously does have musicality but still extraordinary.

Loved the result, loved the (mostly!) camaraderie on here - thank you to all the thread starters and caretakers. I mostly watch alone so it's great to have the company here. Thank you!

Same, watching alone. This year especially I'm pretty convinced that without the company I'd have stopped watching a good few weeks back. I know the judges love to tell us that it's the best year, the best final, the best dancers ever but it's been a pretty difficult year with all the toxic professional dancers stuff and the show often being a bit lackluster in comparison to some series past. Without everyone here giving me something to laugh about, agree with, silently seeth about, I would have given up and after tonight's final I'm really glad I didn't. It was lovely and I do like a nice cry.

Thanks everyone, with a special mention to our weekly troll who must have been quite annoyed to get so few reactions to their nonsense this week. I gave in once but salute everyone else's refusal to engage. You're better women than me!

JoyeuxNarwhal · 14/12/2024 21:05

Thank you for the company and the commentary Flowers

I can't watch as I'm still playing Whamageddon! 😭

I was caught out last night on, believe it or not, the World bloody Service! Not the whole song but enough of it to count. Then I heard it today while wandering around the shops and it's all over for me so I'm just leaning into it.

Good luck with avoiding it. It's the 40th anniversary so it seems to be everywhere. Even on the World bloody Service (it's new name!) 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 14/12/2024 21:11

I've switched to Classic FM to avoid it. By the sound of it, I may not be safe if it follows in the footsteps of the World Bloody Service!

I'm going into Liverpool for lunch on two days next week, so my card is already marked. At which point I can iPlayer the documentary!

I've not wanted Chris to win but dear God I cried all through his last dance and until his scores then again when they won.

AsWithGlad · 14/12/2024 21:25

Do we know what happened to Vito’s trousers? I’ve just watched the dance again, and he was clutching the waistband from quite early on in the dance, whenever he didn’t have to do something else with his arm.

StarDolphins · 14/12/2024 21:26

YES! Well done Chris, humble, funny & what an amazing effort not being able to see. Diane is a star too.

StarDolphins · 14/12/2024 21:27

I wish they’d said who came 2nd,3rd etc.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/12/2024 20:50

Just to say again,

A big thanks from the thread starters

Eine, Polka, Shell and Cave

Your comments make the threads we start what they are. A great little corner of the internet.

Merry Strictlymas all the better for the right result! !

Thanks @EineReiseDurchDieZeit, I had to slip out straight after the result as Cave-Not-So-Baby has been u dear the weather (flu-like bug) and wanted some mummy cuddles to help him sleep.

Its been a blast again, I’m thrilled with Chris’ win and just hope that this doesn’t result in nothing but lip service to the disabled community.

See some of you for the Christmas Show, and looking forward to the 20th Anniversary show - fingers crossed we get a full compliment of former pros - would be lovely to hear from the likes of Erin, Flavia, Brendan, etc.

AsWithGlad · 14/12/2024 21:46

Hope Cave-not-so-Baby sleeps well and feels a lot better in the morning.

NowNumber5 · 14/12/2024 21:47

Oooh maybe we'll finally get to see AJ & Kai's show dance???
Please Strictly gods! 🙏 😂

FagsMagsandBags · 14/12/2024 22:13

I hope Cave-not-so-baby sleeps well and is feeling better very soon.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/12/2024 22:23

Where’s Motsi gone?

Well I did see a zebra in the middle of the group surrounding Chris and Diane so I'm guessing she was in there somewhere.

Anton looked bored during the Take that Song. At least Craig was clapping along.

I thought they could have held off from using their mobiles to film till the cameras had stopped rolling. Bloody phones get everywhere in the audience when you watch a show in a theatre or arena, I'm a bit Hmmabout them starting to be used by the performers on live TV shows. I know they want to record it for posterity but it's on telly FGS! (Grinch....)

I'm happy Chris won. If the winner should go to the most deserving, then it's him. No-one is claiming he was the best dancer technically but it wasn't sympathy votes, either, people are genuinely in awe of his achievement and that's why they voted. If he'd been terrible I doubt he would have got very far. It was the right result as he's the only one of the finalists who didn't have any dance training at all.
