KEEP DANCING

I’ve only watched the clips of each dance, not the programme, but I thought the winner’s dance looked a bit frantic and messy, partly because the wig was far too long and got in the way, and I thought Tamsin’s dance was better but probably less of a crowd pleaser. Fair play to Kai for managing the lift.

I agree, it was messy. Could have driven a bus through his feet when they should have been closed.
While I’ve no problem with a drag queen being on or two men dancing together, I don’t appreciate the implied requirement to call a man ‘she’ (as Kai was doing).
This is unrelated , but I thought Tayce came across rather self-centred and attention-seeking; when they won he was just looking around at the audience and had to be directed to pick up the trophy. And I’m not sure he thanked or praised Kai.

I liked Josh; surprisingly good. And Billy partnered Nadiya beautifully. Tamzin has clearly had training somewhere along the way but looked nervous and wobbled a bit. I’d like to see her and Josh on the main show. Oh, and Harry - very likeable and quite a natural dancer and performer, I thought.

JaneFrances · 26/12/2024 12:57

Harry was robbed!

CaveMum · 26/12/2024 13:04

@MarkWithaC ”Tamzin has clearly had training somewhere along the way but looked nervous and wobbled a bit.”

According to Wikipedia she was part-time at Sylvia Young as child and then studied drama and dance at college, so very much in the Sarah Hadland mould 😜

GrammarTeacher · 26/12/2024 13:27

Yup Tamzin was a 'ringer' too. I would genuinely love to see Josh on the real show though.

GruffaloChildCrimbo · 26/12/2024 13:27

The chance to participate wasn't the issue this year - women themselves did not want to participate because of the Gio/Graz debacle. They were struggling to sign women up for the main show and the influencer one jumped ship for I'm a sleb instead.
Whether they could have got a woman who previously wanted to do it (but they didn't sign up at the time) e.g. Rebecca Addlington, Cheryl Baker, Gemma Collins etc is a different story. The Xmas special is less commitment but also not much money. If previously snubbed, some women may have thought sod that for a game of soldiers.

Ah, ok. Although if her professional experience is not very recent I don’t think it’s a big deal. The line for me is people who currently get paid to dance eg Layton ( who teaches as well) or Tasha.

Figgygal · 26/12/2024 16:16

Enjoyed harry and tamzin most though saw her errors

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 26/12/2024 16:26

Then the BBC should have worked harder to demonstrate to female celebrities than they would be safe and happy if they signed up, dug deeper to find women who did want to participate and ensured that all males pros were absolutely clear on what constitutes acceptable behaviour rather than presenting a 4 men 2 women line up as balanced because one of those men is in heels and makeup.

But of course the BBC that axed Michel Roux Jr from Professional MasterChef for advertising potatoes but kept sleazy Greggggg on after his awful behaviour on Strictly and having to give him the boot from another show for inappropriate behaviour towards women (the factory thing) thinks the answer to women feeling uncomfortable about appearing on a show is to fill that gap with a man pretending to be a woman.

jelliestfish · 27/12/2024 14:42

I really enjoyed the Christmas special. Harry and Tamzin were most enjoyable to watch, followed by Josh. And I agree with pp that each of them would be great on the main show. I can imagine the producers will be trying to get Harry on, in particular as he is just very natural, charming and likeable.

Tayce was good, but as a pp said, it WAS messy and frantic, which made it uncomfortable to watch. It was nowhere close to being a 40 and lacked the polish of Tamzin's VW (even with her mistake). The lift was impressive though so think that, combined with the pimp slot won it for them.

tennissquare · 17/01/2025 17:47

Anyone going to the opening night of Strictly Live in Birmingham please post feedback!

tennissquare · 17/01/2025 22:36

Update from social media, Nikita is dancing with Sarah H as Vito is injured and looks like they won. There is a photo of Nikita in the leather pvc trousers from the Madonna dance on X!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 28/01/2025 13:08

Looks like Wynne has been kicked off the tour. Seems to be a slime.

Oh dear, not unexpected but poor Katya, so much bad luck goes her way. I'm going to the last show at the O2, looking forward to seeing Vito/Nikita and Kai!

Yes he does.

MrsPeterHarris · 28/01/2025 14:22

Complete slimeball & no doubt he'll cry about it & we'll all be expected to sympathise & feel sorry for him & ensure nothing bad is said as that could negatively impact his mental health. It's fucking ridiculous. Poor Katya indeed!

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 28/01/2025 14:37

This is interesting! He seems to have done a good job of ‘hiding in plain sight’ up to now with his sleazy behaviour sort of ‘explained away’. I bet he made everyone around him irl feel completely uncomfortable. Now I can’t unsee it. Thank god he’s been called out finally!

Legendofthelostkeys · 28/01/2025 17:44

I read on Digital Spy that Vito said -at one of his dance classes with Shirley - that he won't be rejoining the tour. I went to the rescheduled Glasgow show on Sunday evening and Sarah wasn't performing which was a shame as I'd have liked to see a bit more Nikita action!

CaveMum · 28/01/2025 18:08

BBC have finally announced that Wynne is leaving the tour, or “taking some time out” as they put it..

TennisWithDeborah · 28/01/2025 19:02

He’s left his radio show also.

Katya said that there was nothing to the “hand” thing in the Clauditorium and I believed her at the time. So sad if she felt obliged to say that in order to keep the peace.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/02/2025 20:13

Hi All, If you have Netflix, Shirley is currently doing Celebrity Bear Hunt and coming across really well

OP posts:
FrothyCothy · 23/02/2025 09:28

She did come across very well. Her irritation at Mel B matched my own 😆

Just came across this on Threads - someone has ranked every contestant ever from “best” to “worst” based on their average score from Craig, if any stattos are interested
